Hotel Rural Cortijo de Salia  

Lovely welcome from the owners, who were charming and helpful throughout. Nice, good sized, simply furnished room, with patio area looking over a very pretty garden, and surrounding countryside beyond. Informal dining room, with limited but tasty menu, and some good wines. Handy for Nerja caves, and various delightful hill villages, and the Tejida conservation area.

Approach road looks uninviting at first sight, (narrow and quite steeply sloping), but in fact, proved to be no problem.

Great views. Small and friendly. Quiet location.

No soap bar. Bring your own. Small towels.

Nothing was too much trouble, it was such a comfortable hotel! The family that ran it couldn't have been nicer, food was excellent. A hidden treasure! We will go back

The signage to the hotel could be improved

Lovely position with very pretty views of surrounding mountains. Well kept grounds with seating areas and nice swimming pool. The rooms are a good size and very clean. Our bed was also extremely comfortable.The owner Alfonso is charming and very helpful. Very good value for money. Would recommend more for couples than families.

The turning into the hotel from the main road is quite sharp and steep and the sign for the hotel is rather small but this is not uncommon for rural hotels and guesthouses - a small price to pay for "getting away from it all". No English tv channels but this again seems normal in most Spanish hotels (even the large ones). If I was being really fussy I could say that the hot water takes quite a while to reach the taps but just read a few pages of your book and all will be fine.

Los propietarios y el buen gusto con que estaban decoradas las habitaciones para el tipo de alojamiento. Las vista también nos sorprendieron, en definitiva muy recomendable.

El acceso es complicado y algo peligroso.

The staff (it is a family business) is very welcomming, and look well after their guests. The hotel has a very tranquil atmosphere, so it is the perfect place to unwind. the views from the swimming pool (area) are gorgeous and the restaurant is very good (especially the selection of delicious and affordable wines). It is a great place to start your exploration of Andalucia and wind down from busy everyday life.

Even though it seems there is quite a lot to see and do in the direct surrounding (there's a big lake, a nature reserve, some 'white villages', and a ruin of an ancient castle within a stone's throw), it takes some effort to find out where to go for certain activities. for example, driving up to Cortijo de Salia there is a signpost to the natural park, but we did not manage to find a place to park the car and have a (signposted) walk or any other type of visitor information. Your hosts will probably be able to tell you all about the possibilities, so if you are visiting the place, do not hesitate to ask them!

Beautiful little Spanish-style hotel set up in the mountains with fantastic views. Lovely quiet friendly staff who were welcoming but not intrussive. Quaint very clean rooms with the added bonus of a little verrandah looking out over the valley.

Relaxing hotel, excellent service, very clean, charming. We didn´t want to leave.

The hotel is situated on a mountain with a spectaculair view. It has a beautiful big garden, good rooms with airco and a big swimming pool. The owner Alfonso makes sure that al his guests have a great time. He prepares your breakfast every morning with fresh orange jus and toasted bread. In the evening you can have a good dinner in the restaurant. The rooms get cleaned every day and are always dust free and clean. If you thinking about going to Andalusia and want to be close to Malaga, this is the place to stay. Great for singles, couples and families with kids. We had a great time here!

We received a lovely welcome and were thrilled with the accommodation. The rooms are independent of the main house so you don't feel like you are disturbing other people when you come and go in the night. Scrummy breakfast with amazing fresh orange juice!

The road to get there is a bit narrow and bumpy! Worth it when you arrive though!

The peaceful location

We chose this hotel as somewhere fairly close to Málaga airport. It was a delight - the room has a view over the valley and the non-chlorinated pool was perfect to dip into in the near 30C temperatures of mid-May. The garden was just the place to relax in - quiet (except for the frogs that occasionally slip into the pool) and shaded by palms. We left to the sound of fireworks celebrating St. Isidore, patron of farmers, peasants, day labourers, and rural communities from the beautiful nearby village of Alcaucin.

Me ha encantado la tranquilidad del sitio y lo espacioso de las instalaciones así como el trato recibido. La ubicación es estupenda.

El acceso desde la carretara es bastante complicado.

Een zeer ruime kamer, ruime badkamer, prive terras dat uitgeeft op de tuin, (wat bij alle kamers zo is) mooi zwembad, mooi uitzicht op de vallei, tuin, parking, proper enz..

Er is me niets tegengevallen, maar ik had gelezen dat de keuken er zeeeer lekker was, maar dat is toch wel wat overdreven. Ik nodigde daar ook vrienden uit de regio uit en ook die beaamden dat er wel beter in de streek is. Verwacht geen ontbijt zoals in grote hotels, maar toch lekker. Moeilijk te vinden zls je van Granada komt : kijk naar de km aanduiding en rij tot aan de vuilbakken een 100 meter verder om je te draaien zodat je dan beter de weg kan inrijden! Is niet in centrum van Alcaucin, dus rij niet eerst naar daar om dan te zoeken, want daar kennen ze het hotel niet ! Het is een zijweg van de grote baan. Maar het is er wel rustig.

Uiterst vriendelijk personeel. Heel mooie locatie. Het ontbijt en het avondeten is subliem, alles is bereid met de streekgebonden & uitermate verse producten. Het hotel en de kamers zijn bijzonder proper. Kortom een echte aanrader!

Hemos pasado unos dias maravillosos. El sitio es precioso, todo muy cuidado. Totalmente recomendable. Por cierto, la música que pone Alfonso en los desayunos y por la tarde tomando una cerveza en el jardin es genial!!!

A flanc d'une colline, du coup sans vis à vis, le lieu est idéal par son exposition et sa situation géographique. Un véhicule est toutefois indispensable mais les routes alentours sont exellentes. La mer à 30 minutes, les villes ect...à moins d'une heure. La piscine est progressive en profondeur (idéal pour les plus petits) et de dimensions suffisantes (eau douce). Le restaurant famillial est très correct, les hotes sont charmants et joliement anglophones !

Moins bien : l'isolation acoustique entre les huit chambres alignées (nous avions prévu des boules Quiés, elles ont servi !) Le lit additionel pour enfant est trop petit pour une ado de 1m70. la climatisation est un peu bruyante mais nous avons pu nous en passer malgrès les presque 40° extérieur.

Prachtige, rustige ligging in de bergen, te midden van de witte Andalusische dorpjes en toch ook niet ver van zee! De kamers en het zwembad zijn basic maar netjes. Zeer persoonlijk en vriendelijk onthaal en een schitterende keuken. Kleinschalig hotelletje wat doet denken aan een B&B. Een echte aanrader om te ontstressen :-)
