Cortijo El Guarda

Das Cortijo El Guarda liegt sehr zentral in Andalusien in der Nähe von Ronda. Man kommt auf guten Straßen leicht nach Malaga, Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, Jerez und Gibraltar. Im von Miranda und Hans geschmackvoll restaurierten ruhigen Landhaus fühlt man sich vom ersten Moment an wie zuhause. Wir bekamen viele Ausflugstips und jede erdenkliche Unterstützung. Wir haben dort eine sehr schöne Andalusien-Woche verbracht. Vielen Dank. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr schönes und geschmackvolles b&B. Gute, ruhige und schöne Lage. Schöne Ausflugsziele in näheren Umgebung und gute Möglichkeiten zum Essen im nahe liegenden kleinen Dorf. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Wir können diesen Ort nur sehr empfehlen.

The warm welcome by Hans and Miranda and their dog Sam was the start of an unforgettable weeks stay in Cortijo el Guarda. The accommodation is beautifully restored and elegantly decorated and still has modern amenities (good wifi, hot showers, etc). We had a very comfortable and spacious room with a worldclass bed and there was more than enough room for the crib. Even though the weather was a bit cold and wet for March, we had a wonderful time because of the warm and cosy municipal rooms, long walks in the beautiful environment with dog Sam, and wonderful dinners at the Cortijo (3 nights a week). From Alcala del Valle you can visit all of Andalusia with great tour advice from the owners for the best scenic routes. Although the accommodation is amazing, the atmosphere is what sets this guesthouse apart from other places. Hans and Miranda make it a home for every guest. We will definitely return.

Cortijo El Guarda is a traditional spanish property recently renovated with care and excellent taste by their charming owners Miranda and Hans. This luxury guesthouse offers high level facilities including top quality beds, a great pool and plenty of common space (inside and outside). Three times a week, a local cook prepares a succulent menu which you shouldn’t miss. The most important thing however to mention about Cortijo El Guarda is the extraordinary hospitality of Hans and Miranda. They left nothing undone to make our stay a memorable experience. Idylic setting in the most beautifully and sympathetically restored house. Our room was very spacious leading to a pretty private patio. Couldn't fault anything. So much thought has gone into making their guests comfortable from the bed linen, fluffy towels and robes to the gorgeous furnishings throughout and delicioys breakfasts. Miranda and Hans couldn't be more charming and helpful as hosts - we genuinely felt like we were guests in their home. A perfect break for us.

That a) we couldn't stay for longer and b) we couldn't enjoy the delicious Andalucian cooking every night at El Guarda - far and away better than any restaurant we went to.

This is really a beautiful place with great owners and excellent accommodation. The service is as close to perfection as it can get. The rooms are big, clean and cosy. The house is recently renovated. If you go there, do ask information on nearby places to visit. We were given some great advise.

No airconditioning (yet). The rooms should be pretty cool in general though, we had an extraordinary hot night (which was confirmed by locals in the area).

This is the place for a quiet rural escape of your dreams! There are only 5 rooms, so every guest enjoys personal attention from the charming hosts Miranda and Hans (and their lovely dog Sam). Every detail has been thought of (there is even sunscreen provided by the pool!) and the hosts give you a personal welcome. The cortijo itself is nicely restored and the decor is postcard perfect. But it's not only the looks, there is plenty of good atmosphere and we found it very hard to leave! It's a 10 all the way!!!

A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful part of the world. The room was as large, comfortable and clean as the very best hotel. The pool area, sun lounge and mirador within a truly gorgeous cortijo made for a great place to simply relax and recharge. Many of the stunning Pueblos Blancos are within a very short drive of El Guarda, it is easy to see several of them in one day plus there are plenty of nice walks around El Guarda itself. However, what really sets this place apart is the hospitality of Miranda and Hans. From the moment we arrived until we left we felt like very special guests. It is the warmth of their hospitality that really made this such a special trip for us.

El Guarda is a short drive from Alcala del Valle which means (since there are no taxis) a drive to there for dinner on the evenings dinner is not available at El Guarda. However, the highlight of our trip was the dinner we had at Cortijo El Guarda itself on the Monday night of our stay. A local chef prepares delicious specialities of the region every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and we would always choose this option when its available.

A perfect getaway in Spanish countryside!! We spent a night at El Guarda, a small homey hotel with full facilities. Miranda and Hans couldn't treat us any better, they were doing their best to make sure that we have a great time at their place. Prior our arrival, they sent us a detailed direction to the Cortijo and also booked us a table at a local restaurant in Alcala del Valle. The property is an old farm house that has been renovated to a very high standard while preserving a lot of original Andalucian features. The rooms are large with full facilities: teas and coffee, toiletries, bath robes, slippers, and of course, very comfortable bed. The hotel is in the middle of the farmlands, surrounded by olives. So, a full tranquillity. It is only 30 km away from Ronda and certainly worth the drive for a stay here. Finally, our stay wouldn't be complete without Sam, a super playful dog!!! Well what can I say about our stay with Miranda and Hans & Sam (the crazy dog!) If you are looking for a great combination of relaxation,comfort and amazing service and scenery you can't go wrong with Cortijo El Guarda. Whether you want to relax and sunbath by the pool or tour the amazing historical towns which are an hours drive away this place has it all. We had a great time and willl definitely be recommending friends and family to visit this great. Miranda/Hans, keep a spare room for us next year as we will be back! Wow - what a wonderful place to rest, relax and explore this beautiful part of the Andalucian region. The property has been beautifully renovated, whilst maintaining it's traditional and unique heritage, and is located in a lovely quiet spot close to the small town of Alcala del Valle. Miranda and Hans have left absolutely no stone unturned in their desire to create a warm and welcoming environment for all of their guests. All of the five bedrooms, as well as the spacious kitchen/ lounge and sitting/library room for guests are superbly appointed, for example offering high quality bedding, extra large beds, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in rooms, robes and much, much more. I was there for a chilly spring weekend and have to envy their summer guests who can also take advantage of the terrific swimming pool and numerous outdoor seating areas. The breakfast was delicious and extensive. I would not hesitate to recommend El Guarda to anyone searching for a relaxing and luxurious place to stay. Thank you Miranda and Hans, and of course Sam, their very well behaved dog, for providing me with such a memorable experience.

We had a great stay at El Guarda. I found it through a rather glowing recommendation from a friend, and was very pleased that the place totally exceeded expectation. For me it was all about finding a place with a ‘chilled’ atmosphere, a place to relax with everything I needed on hand but without the sometimes sterile environment that comes with a high end hotel. I like the sense of self sufficiency that comes with a stay at a place like El Guarda, yet the peace of mind of some first rate service when needed (I had a low IQ moment with the TV) was great for removing any semblance of stress, all accompanied with some good humour. The people running the place couldn’t have been more helpful/accommodating from an extensive knowledge of the surrounding area to its restaurants. I would highly recommend it and will hopefully be enticing a group of friends there next summer.

We hebben genoten van de prachtige cortijo , de mooie omgeving en de heerlije rust. De eigenaren zorgen voor een onvergetelijke vakantie. Prachtige kamers,heerlijke bedden. Heerlijke ontbijt, lunch ,diners. Tips van de eigenaren waar je lekker kunt eten, mooie plekjes en de prachtige autoritten in de omgeving. Uitstapjes naar Ronda, Sevilla. Dit is een plek waar je terug wilt blijven komen.

Ancienne Haciendas typique entièrement rénovée de façon luxueuse mais avec bon gout et simplicité. Chambres très agréables avec petites terrasses dédiées. Piscine généreuse et 2 solariums pour bouquiner tranquillement. Idéal pour se régénérer lors d'un week end express ou pour se faire une pause romantique au milieu d'une visite exhaustive de l'Andalousie. J'ai adoré le lieu ainsi que les propriétaires très attachants et attentionnés qui donnent de nombreux conseils mais savent rester discrets. Sentiment d'être coupé du monde au milieu de la montagne Andalouse. Petit village charmant à proximité avec très bon resto.

Un petit peu difficile à trouver sans gps mais une fois sur place on apprécie de se sentir en pleine nature. Bien respecter les indications communiquées par les propriétaires.

Maravillosa recreación del cortijo andaluz, donde todo invita al relax y el disfrute. Tanto el amigable y cálido servicio, el confort y el equipamiento del alojamiento, la atmosfera cercana y cálida creada por los dueños y el entorno invitan a prolongar la estancia. Enhorabuena, aún existen lugares donde uno puede maravillarse de cada detalle y sentirse como en casa, pero mejor atendidos. Gracias a Miranda y Hans por su soberbio trabajo y profesionalidad. Sencillamente perfecto.

De locatie, de sfeer, de gastvrijheid en het design zijn alle uitstekend! Een heerlijke plek om volledig te ontspannen, culturele uitstapjes te maken en te verdwalen in het schitterende andalusische landschap.

B&B has recently been restored with taste and attention, to the smallest details. Comfortable beds, lots of privacy and owners who really nothing is too much! Nice destination - a real winner. Op onze kleine rondreis door het mooie Andalusië (met o.a.een bezoek aan het prachtige Ronda en een schitterende autotocht door het dal van de Gualdahorce) kwamen we voor 1 overnachting terecht in Cortijo El Guarda in Alcala del Valle: een luxe B&B hotel. Een heerlijke plek om te verblijven, prachtig en heel rustig gelegen op een berg, zodat je rondom van schitterende vergezichten kunt genieten. Het gebouw zelf, zo'n 500 jaar oud, is heel mooi gerestaureerd en heeft daardoor een heel authentieke en sfeervolle uitstraling: een plaatje! De kamer zelf was zeer smaakvol ingericht, heerlijke bedden en van alle gemakken voorzien. Daarbij een prima ontbijt en een gastvrij onthaal door de gastheer en gastvrouw. Kortom een plek om zeer zeker nog eens naar terug te gaan.

El Guarda is een prima locatie om vanuit hier Andalusie te ontdekken. Ik zou het willen omschrijven als een luxe bed & breakfast met goede faciliteiten. De locatie is goed, rustig gelegen maar alle bezienswaardigheden zijn makkelijk bereikbaar. Het schattige plaatsje Ronda is minder dan een half uur rijden.Naast de prachtig ingerichte kamers is de rust die je hier vindt een groot voordeel. 'S middags uitrusten bij het zwembad en in de avond een lekker glas wijn drinken in de bibliotheek. De eigenaren zijn fantastisch, ze proberen het je erg naar de zin te maken! Een echte aanrader als je een rondreis door Andalusie maakt!

El Guarda is erg rustig gelegen met geen restaurants of bars op loopafstand. Zelf vonden wij dit geen probleem. Na een hectische dag met veel indrukken konden wij hier prima tot rust komen.

De rustige locatie, het vriendelijke onthaal, de sfeer van een landelijke cortjio, de goede verzorging van de eigenaars... ze zorgen voor een ontspannen gevoel en doen er alles aan om je de mooiste plekjes van de streek te laten ontdekken. SUPER

Ontvangst en persoonlijke benadering van eigenaren Hans en Miranda was super! Het is een zeer mooi opgezette b&b, alle ruimtes zijn smaakvol en uniek ingericht. Kamers erg schoon en ruim. Ontbijt was heel goed verzorgd en de avond dat een spaanse kokkin het 3 gangenmenu verzorgde hebben we heerlijk gegeten! Ook het zwembad was top en de reisafstand naar oa Ronda was gering, zodat dit de perfecte bestemming voor ons was om tot rust te komen.

Ich war im Cortijo El Guarda (leider nur) für 2 Tage im April 2013 in was kann als ein richtiges 5-Sterne-B&B-Erlebnis. Das Cortijo war wunderschön und strahlte ausgezeichnete Unterkunft zu einem sehr vernünftigen Preis aus. Sie haben das beste Bett in dem ich jeh in geschlafen habe Alles in Andalusien einfach erreichbar und es liegt in eine großartige Umgebung. Dass das was ich am meisten erinnere, ist der Service, den ich bekam, Miranda und Hans waren ausgezeichnet, mit Ratschlägen für Restaurants und Dinge die mann in alles tun kann.Ich hatte eine wirklich tolle Zeit und ich würde hier ohne zu zögern wieder hier buchen, wenn ich wieder in Andalusien bin.

Nichts, nur zu kurz......

We recently had a stay nights at this charming hotel (the call it a b&b but its much more than the name suggests) near the with village of Alcala del Valle in the centre of Anfdalusia. From the moment we walked in to our departure, the warmth, courteousness and unobtrusive service of the owners and staff was overwhelming. My wife and I have truly never experienced this level of service before, and we have been travelling the world for over 25 years! Nothing was too much trouble and everyone seemed to genuinely warm to, and delight in going the extra 100 miles for their guests. We had the most lovely room with a patio which was peaceful and quiet, and the bed was so comfortable I wish I could have put it in my luggage! Although we were together with another couple the last guests of the season, we were treated as if we were the first! We had high expectations due to good reviews but they just all are true, El Guarda is a little gem and we hope it will stay this way for a long time. We will certainly back early 2013.

Uitstekende service van Hans en Miranda die je echt het ultieme vakantiegevoel geven in hun luxe boutique B&B! Prachtig en centrale ligging, ideaal om de omgeving van Andalusie te verkennen. Diner op de Cortijo is zeker een aanbeveling waard!
