- Friendly staff - Breakfast was good - Not so far away from Malaga (around 40 km). -
-Too much dust -The room have two floors, but the bathroom is at first floor and sleeping room is at second floor. If you wake up in the night is difficult to go up and down -Internet not available in the room
The farmhouse was beyond expectations. The design and spanish feel was amazong. The scenery was great and had fun at the pool. If you don't mind the 17 km drive to downtown Malaga it's a wonderful place to stay at. The rooms are all flower themed and cosy.
We didn't like the breakfast though... Not much variety and the fruit were stale. Given that it's in a remote location breakfast options are limited.
Great, value for money!
Location, tranquility, frendliness of staff, food, room clean, spacious and large.
The location is amazing. The Cortijo la Reina is a 30min drive up hill from Malaga. Hair pin bends which are fun & exiting to drive along. At the Cortijo you're spoilt with stunning views from every angle & a very authentic House/Hotel. The 2 local restaurants along the way which we can highly recommend for food/drink are the Venta Carlos del Mirador & the last local restaurant on the right hand side before you turn off the road to get to the Hotel. (Venta.... Because our flight was late in the evening. We did appreciate that we could use the pool on the day of check out as long as we liked.
We stayed 6nights. One day we had no room key and had to be let in everytime we've been out. 3 nights out of 6 were rather loud & we couldn't get any sleep. First night the fire alarm went off & didn't stop for quiet a while. We paniked and got out the room without our belongings. It turned out to be a false sensor & went on & off the next day until it was fixed the day after. Altough the Hotel wasn't fully booked we had a family right next to our room with two small children which were crying for a long time during the night. The pool only got attention ('cleaned' & fresh water) after more guests had arrived. And on weekends the Cortijo la Reina accomodates weddings/partys. At the time of our stay, a graduation party. Which went on, with the level of night life discothek music, from 10-6am. The food/breakfast wasn't what we'd expect for a 4star Hotel & the customer service was at times not existent.
The location is in the heart of a natural park, removed from noise and stress. One can relax and enjoy the environment, and there is no need to leave the premises to spend a wonderful weekend.
The cleanliness definitely left plenty of room for improvement. Our room smelled strongly of mold and had spider webs hanging down from the ceiling. The towels were unusable. All that quite spoiled the otherwise very pleasant experience.
It is a 2-Star hotel. Hairdryer and chair were both broken. No fridge. The hotel handles events like weddings that make it hard to get someone from the stuff or to order dinner.
Landscape is amazing up hill. Place is peaceful and staff very friendly. Great restaurant.
Staff helpful , we Liked the rooms they were beautifully decorated bathroom terrible. Ask for room 105, not 103. Views over surrounding hills is beautiful and sitting on the veranda is very relaxing. Walks are strenuous due to its location, but there are beautiful wild flowers along the way.
The bathroom and breakfast.
Great location and views . Helpful and friendly staff good food.
Beautiful location Nice homestyle local cuisine Fantastic service Romantic setting Nature walks
Facilities a bit simple Some breakdown in water supply
Super room, lovely setting, friendly and helpful staff. good food.
Tennis court a joke - very poor condition. Swimming pool looked filthy.
We requested single beds but when we arrived after travelling 600 Kms we were told that previous guests were still in our room. We were offered a "twin shed " in the garden down a very steep set of steps which was not in the best of repair. We then were given a double room for one night only which we accepted on the promise of a twin room the following day. No one came to apologise or even speak to us. We were so disgusted that the following morning we left before breakfast. Needless to say the hotel did not charge us and the only apology was from the receptionist. We then had to find another hotel which was the complete opposite in the welcome they gave us. Fortunately the rest of our holiday was perfect.
Real calm hotel, romantic. In the Montes de Malaga. Easy to find as there are boards all along the road. Welcoming staff, huge room, lovely bathroom. Amazing swimming pool. Restaurant is not expensive. Wi fi in the room!
I liked the fact that it was away from everything but that Malaga was still accessible. It would have been nice if it had a more bar like area in the interior.
I didn't like the fact that there were no coffee making facilities in the room.
Breakfast was good value Staff were helpful
Air Conditioning did not work Room felt damp No Hotel info in room Very few hangers in wardrobe Poor Wi Fi-only available around the reception area
For me the best was the hotel in the middle of the mountains, the pool with the view and the cosy room. The dinner was very good and for a very good price.
It had a lot of bugs outside and the breakfast needs to have more offer and better quality for a four stars hotel
Almost everything was very good. It is a well-built residence on the Malaga's mountain, surronded by tipical Mediterran trees (pines, rosemary, fruit). Great restaurant, nice staff, rooms are clean and very nice painted (all the rooms and buildings are decorated following the typical Spanish style).
The only negative side is the position. It takes 25 minutes to reach the city center; it is not a real matter if you stay all day away from the hotel. We spent 2 days in Malaga, one in Granada, and one day resting in this beautiful place.
