This luxurious 5-star hotel is on Costa Adeje, overlooking Playa Paraiso Beach. It features a spa area and a heated infinity pool with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Score from 225 reviews Wonderful
We liked everything. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. The dining room was large but well managed so there wasno waiting for service or food. TThe room was specaious and the internet access good. The 6th floor pool was good.
Nothing. It could not have been better.
The hotel is big, an enormous lobby, large hallways, large pool areas. Spacious rooms, large bed and a good tv. Friendly staff in the lobby.
The hotel seems a bit dated, the bathroom seems old and not to well maintained, every time you open the door into the bathroom you're afraid the roof will fall down, and while enjoying a shower you never know when the water will be freezing cold or burning hot. A lot of the buildings would benefit from some more painting. The breakfast room or should I say hall is no place to relax, noisy wagons all over the place and food is not as well prepared as one would expect at a 5 star resort - you'll get a massive English breakfast with poor choices of healthier alternatives. The coffee as well is nothing to cheer about.. The fact that they don't provide coffee machines at the rooms is not a plus either. The whole hotel gives me an impression of cheap solutions. Even though the hotel is big, it's not of great quality!
Staff Pool area
Too many maintenance issues: varying shower temperature, hairdryer cuts out after 1 minute, loose rails in bathroom, heated swimming pool was cold
I liked the layout of the hotel. It is beautiful and the pool area is stunning. The way it is designed is good. It is only 20 minutes from the airport. The seafront and restaurants are å short walk away as is a big shopping mall full of designer goods. All buses are just outside the hotel and taxis are always available. We had å mountain view room which was nice on the fourth floor. There is an adults only pool on the top floor which is also nice. There are aqua aerobics in the pool which is good fun.
The food isnt worthy of å 5 star hotel. It is sloppy and tasteless. It doesnt matter what meal it is, it is all the same. The coffee is disgusting, whether it is fresh or out of a machine. Å lot of the food is cold but it is by no way worthy of å 5 star hotel. It is a shame because everything else is alright. The fridges in the rooms are not very good. The milk went off twice. There is no full or semi- skimmed milk in the restaurant. The waiters in the bar restaurant hardly ever give you your change When the Entertainment is on unless you ask for it. Å few people were commenting on it so it sounds like some kind of scam is going on.
The Costa Adeje Gran Hotel is a lovely hotel a short walk from the beach. We had a very comfortable stay. My friend and I preferred the roof top pool to the main pools as it was quieter and seemed as far as we could tell to be adults only. It was a nice touch to have a welcome drink of cava on arrival. The free wifi service was great to have. It was also really useful to be able to use the shower room after we had checked out as we had a late flight. Finally Ana Belen at reception was really helpful every time that we dealt with her and she recommended a really lovely restaurant.
I work in a 5* hotel and I do not believe that the Costa Adeje Gran Hotel is of 5* standards. There were just a few things that I felt were slightly lacking. I would still highly recommend the hotel but I would say that it is more 4* quality. Firstly there are no doormen to help with luggage or hailing taxis, which was fine as we only had limited luggage and were also happy to walk to a taxi rank close by. There is no complimentary water provided in the rooms and the minibar is empty, items need to be purchased through room service. There was no literature in the room recommending restaurants, excursions or the like and there is no concierge team (although as I mentioned Ana Belen from reception was fantastic in helping us!). There is a charge to use the safe in the room which would normally be a complimentary service. The breakfast service is slightly disorganised with no one to greet guests or seat them at a table, it seemed like a bit of a free-for-all to us, the staff we also often slightly rude, although the food offering was fantastic. There is also no turndown service. Another small thing is that the complex is extremely large and we were not given a map or offered a tour. These are all very small things but things that you might expect in booking a 5*.
Food was fantastic and the buffet menu changed daily with a vast choice of food. Bedrooms were large and extremely comfortable with beautiful views. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. All in all, highly recommended and will definitely return.
One morning we were down by the pool at 9am. We went to breakfast at 9.30am when we returned at approximately 9.50am all our items had been removed from the sunloungers ie towels, books, drinks, sunlotions, sun hats etc. A slip of paper was left by the hotel stating that they do this for the comfort of their guests. Apparently the hotel policy is that any items left by the pools unattended before 10am are removed by security. It was an hour before we received our belongings back. This was extremely frustrating and the only thing that put a dampner on our otherwise fantastic stay. Were we not guests......? The hotel serviously need to review this policy in particular as there was no shortage of sunloungers and the original ones we had selected were still free! We had not been made aware of this at the start of our stay. As we were usually by the pool by 9am each morning, one of us had to stay behind and 'mind' our sunloungers while the rest went for breakfast.
great pool and ideal location large comfortable bed
tinned fruit rather than fresh at breakfast Some of the walls in corridors could do with a repaint. looking a little tired.
This hotel should have its stars taken from it. We arrived with my children the room was very hot air con not working at all. Plastic sheets on the beds when you turn it makes noise. Left it the following morning. Avoid at all costs.
very good hotel, location is fantastic, staff very good, everything very comfortable.amazing food in buffet restaurant-breakfest,lunch,dinner.i want to stay there again.
nothing,everything was exellent
The choice of swimming pools and excellent entertainment
Very minor point - the milk served at breakfast!
Great hotel, with lots of facilities for kids. Food and beds also very good. Entertainment team great!
Good location near beach and shops. Easy access to other resorts: Las Americas, Caleta etc
The hotel is getting a bit tired and not what I'd expect from a 4 star. Whilst the reception staff are pleasant and helpful, the restaurant staff are overworked. There are too few staff at busy breakfast times and it all feels a bit frantic. Disappointing. I was there too years ago and it feels like cost cutting has perhaps taken its toll on quality of holiday experience.
Very clean, friendly staff, lovely breakfast with huge variety of food!
Lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room. Entertainment stops too early at night. Too much karaoke.
+A great and big welcoming hotel close to the beach and quality shopping. +Free will-fi was a big plus. +I loved the pools, especially the roof pool where you could sit quietly and just relax feeling the soft and warm Canary breeze while enjoying the vacation. +The breakfast buffé was also great and had a lot to offer. +++But one of the most welcoming and pleasant experience was the warm, caring and nice staff. No matter if you met the cleaning ladies in the hallways, the general staff out in the hotel or the restaurant staff trying to keep everything working under their busiest times, they still stopped to smile and meet everyone's needs with a genuine care and effort. This is a hotel that really has amazing people working for them. They don't just smile politely, but even with their eyes and no question seems to small for them. Amazing!
-The restaurant was a bit too laud for my liking and not so cozy, but at times when it was not so busy it was possible to find a more quiet corner. -The wi-fi was not so fast and you couldn't always connect, but it was just a bit frustrating cuz I had to do some work on my vacation. Otherwise it would have been ok :)
First impressions are great. Good, professional staff. Price not bad. Rooms are big and to a good spec. View is good from balcony.
WiFi was extremely poor. Had to use mobile network in the end. Location was good for my needs but it is quite a walk down to Costa Adeje.
Pool bar closed to early
1. excellent breakfast and supper 2. excellent animation team, specially the monitor of aquagym of the 3rd week of september 2014 3. outstanding swimming pools
sometimes ..., poor wifi
Large pool and plenty of sun beds. very cheap drinks at the pool bar. Amazing choice at the breakfast and dinner buffet.
Distance from the sea
This hotel is well situated in a nice part of Adeje. When we stayed there was a good variety of young couples, families, mid and older aged people. Nice to have smart dress for dinner, food variety was excellent, full marks to the Chef's. People who tried to reserve their sun beds with leaving towels on them were still surprised to come back to find they had been removed. Full marks to the staff for bring so vigilant!!
The paintwork on the outside of the hotel around the swimming pool was beginning to peel off and could do with a paint. Lots and lots of sun beds but all close to one another and I would have liked a little more of my own space. (My personal feelings)
Very organised very clean good food pleasant staff good stay
It was all good there was nothing I didn't like
Although not an 18+ hotel, we weren't bothered by, well, the nature of children :) there is animation but luckily not one that annoys you every 45 minutes. Especially Germans won't miss a single tv channel. Wifi is free and "available" everywhere, yet way too slow (get a nice 3g plan and you're good). Rich breakfast selection with a quality that's tourism resort standard. You'll really be fine if you can leave your Gordon Ramsey attitude at home for a while (I know it's hard). It's a nice mixture of proper continental and British breakfast plus fresh fruits.
Coffee tasted as if made of instant powder. Juices were water filled syrups (yet drinkable). They make fresh fried eggs so it's a shame that they use package stuff for the scrbled eggs. Wifi: don't expect the 50mbits connection you have at home and don't do online shopping with it as it's too slow (ended up in double purchases with me because I clicked twice ;) ). As said above, just get a good vacation deal for your cell's 3g. Not having a prefilled mini bar is not worthy a five star hotel, but you get a menu from which you can order, so it's like having a quasi mini bar. Upside: fill it up with drinks from the 7/11. This hotel is great when comparing to 4 star hotels in the area. You'll have a good time. It would just loose against a 5 star hotel in any north- west city like London, Rotterdam, Frankfurt or Berlin. It's not Steigenberger 5 star like, but absolutely a great hotel making for a sweet vacation! Just remember: Tenerife is a touristy island place and the 5 stars should be seen against that background. Last con: some people at the reception are fairly bad at dealing with stressy situations and need customer handling management, but the rest of the (reception) staff make up for that. It's just one guy, so I'll get over it ;) the rest deserves a big "thumbs up"!!
Beds were comfortable
The food was dreadful, coffee was undrinkable, bed sheets were like sand paper, little or no entertainment, terrible smell of sewage , hairdryer was useless, wifi did not work, reception staff were clueless & rude, far too expensive for it's location and facilities, pools were to shallow. On arrival we asked if it was possible to change the room to pool view and they said they will contact us we stayed for 10 nights and nobody contacted us.
- Meals were great and of a great variety of fruit, sea food, meat, cheese. - Comfortable and large room with a mountain and sea view. - Welcome tour was handy.
- Wi-Fi connection was really poor. It is better to have no Wi-Fi than such Wi-Fi connection (connecting-disconnecting every several seconds). - 15-minute walk from the sea. - Towels were a bit too old for a 5-star hotel.
We stayed b&b only as there are so many fab places to eat outside of the hotel to suit all budgets. We were pretty impressed with the breakfast. The pool bar also serves a great lunch. The pool areas were fab with plenty of sun loungers and the staff were lovely. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend.
In places the hotel is looking a little tired as few years old now but it's not enough to take away from all the positives this hotel and fab location have to offer.
