Price is a bit high even for San-Sebastian considering that the access to spa facilities is not included into the room rate.

San Sebastian as a city, the size of the room and the balcony.

The staff weren't particularly friendly at all, the cleaner barged in at ten to twelve without knocking, it's not very central, room service chips were uncooked. The glass wall from the bedroom to the shower looks nice but if someone goes to the loo in the night, the light will probably wake the other person up.

Excellent hotel and great value for money

First room we were put in smelt of smoke, and the location is very far away from the city centre which we hadn't realised. Very sterile.

It was pretty expensive and far from the historical center.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Barcelo Costa Vasca. The hotel was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and the staff were all very friendly. One of the best things about the hotel was the spa facilities. It only cost 18 euros for one hour's use of the spa facilities; including a sauna, steam room and relaxing pool! The hotel restaurant also offered a great menu, costing about 18 euros which included three courses, wine and bread.

The only negative aspects I felt was that the hotel is a little out of the main town. The old part of town, where you can find a lot of restaurants and bars, is about a 20 minute walk (which feels even longer when the weather is bad!) However a taxi only costs about 8 euros which the hotel will book for you. Also, we were slightly disappointed by the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the hotel room, but apart from that the hotel was great and I would certainly recommend it to travellers.

Breakfast was reasonable - it was offered to us at check-in at a discount when we arrived. In off season the outdoor pool was not available for use. Gym was ok. Bar staff very friendly, check-in/out staff not so in my opinion.

Not a great location if you want to spend time in town. It was about a 30 minute stroll into town or a €7 cab ride (5-10 min). There is a bus across the road which leaves every half hour but costs €1.65 each way into town. You also have to pay for parking in the car park in front of the hotel.

Very friendly environment, very good restaurant and excellent room.

Unfortunately it was not possible to the SPA facilities to do only sauna, it was imposed to do a complete program.

Breakfast variety was great, including chef who made eggs however you liked them.

The staff & their professionalism & friendliness

The air conditioning is very warm even though we switch it off in the room. It was from the corridor. The AC should always be set to 22/23C for comfort.

incorrect address on the web site and directions led us to drive around for 2 hours in search of the hotel, as SatNav could not find the location

I loved the use of photo murals throughout the hotel. The restaurant was excellent.

The hotel was of a good standard. The rooms was cleaned well and looks fine. Nice terrace at my room in the 5th floor.

PRESSURE in the shower was close to nothing. I had a hard time even clean out my hair after shampooing. Can't imagine how it would be for a girl with long hair. I think the hotel was a bit outside city centre. Nice loacation if you like walking 15-20 min to the old town. Have to add that it was a heavy rain during my entire stay, and therefore it probably is a great walk if the weather is good. But be aware of the distance. My next trip to San Sebastian I will for sure make a reservation to a hotel closer to the city centre. Great hotel if you are going with a group and have busses to take you around, and if other rooms has pressure in the shower.

We liked the rooms, and general ambience. Also the proximity to the city, beaches, and walks. The staff was very efficient when it came to an early wake-up call, and taxi service.

The staff were, with a couple of exceptions, off-hand, there were no concierge facilities. A big convenience was the Avis office at the hotel.

The shower was good.

Staff was arrogant and surly. Room layout and lighting are poorly designed. Pillows made of hard rubber. In order to use the safe, you had to get down on your hands and knees. The room had only one small drawer for clothes storage. Breakfast cost 20 euro and wasn’t worth 2 euro.
