Friendly, helpful staff...at least the male staff...females were a bit indifferent. Very old looking and feeling. Room smelled funky. Bed was hard. Bedspread in first room was stained...had to request to be moved. No wi fi I rooms. Really..in 2012... Really???

- Location : Just a couple of minutes walking from Poble Sec metro station on Line 3, which is well connected with other stations on La Rambla, Placa Catalunya and Placa Espanya. - Staff: Every member of the staff could speak fluent English ans was very kind and helpful. - Room: The room was big enough and simply but delicately furnished. The general average of 8.00/10.00 on booking.com website for Evenia Rocafort reflects our appreciation of the hotel very well, considering its great location and fair price, but also the improvement areas I've explained below as well. - Definitely the sink in the bathroom, made of a small platform of glass and tin. The moment you wash your hands, it gets completely wet and you hardly can find a place to put your make-up stuff or comb... This is the only place to make-up as the make-up mirror is in the bathroom and there is no mirror in front of the dressing table... - The walls are very thin so that getting up early is guaranteed by an enthusiastic conversation or by morning showers from the other rooms... - On Saturday morning around 09:30, omlette, tomatoes, mozarella dishes and croissants & bread baskets were completely empty, and only croissants and bread were then replenished. They have to use larger dishes and baskets instead of tiny ones, especially on weekends when there is clearly more guests...

Everything was as described: wifi at the lobby with two computers (but on those PCs the connection regularly was down), ethernet internet in the room. Very good staff, very good cleaning in the rooms. Great location - 2 minutes from metro station Poble sec and 5 minutes from another one - Rocafort. 10 minutes of walking - from Espanya square.

It was no-fuss and our stay was comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful at all times. It was in a great location - near a Metro station and not far from the Plaza Espana, where the Aerobus stops. Very convenient.

Great place to stay. I must say that it exceeded our expectations. The room was larger than I would have thought. The front desk staff was superb and they were a wealth of information. I would like to thank especially Javier, who fixed us up with tickets to FCBarcelona game. His suggestions for a dinner places(off the beaten track) were also spot on! Will definitively visit here next time in Barcelona!

The hotel is adequate and is placed in an excellent location - approximately 2 minutes from Metro station from where you can launch yourself whereever you want to be in Barcelona. Furthermore it is very clean and warm. Nothing special, only the fact that although there are plenty of nice bars/ restaurants in the nearby area, no one informed us about that and they kept recommending visiting tourist areas for nightlife.

Clean room, good shower, helpful staff, free internet and good location for metro and trains. Expensive for what you got - breakfast was adequate, but nothing inspiring, small room for 2 adults and a child. ( Although most hotels in Barcelona seem expensive compared to other cities. )

The hotel is 5 blocks away from metro station. Room is clean. Breakfast is good but it will be better if they add some Items. They really should reconsider adding WiFi to all the floors not at the reception only. For a solo traveller the room price is expensive.

The location is good, near two metro lines and some supermarkets. Pastry shop right across the street. Very clean rooms and helpful staff. I recommed a street-facing room as it is brighter and not that noisy. Also the bed is ok, not as hard as other comments suggest. Nothing important: only one chair in room, air conditioning was a bit noisy.

Good location close to a metro station and friendy staff. There is free wired internet that comes 'without a wire' - you have to buy a cable costing Euro 4 from the hotel in order to connect. There is, however, WiFi option in the lobby area as also two computers there with internet connection for guests' free use.

The hotel is perfect located in order to reach all major attractions, either by metro or even by foot, very central but in a quite area. We stayed in a room at 6th floor with a view towards the street, preferably to a view in the inner yard (very dark). The best thing we highly appreciated in every evening after a full day of walking and in every morning to wake up was the high-pressure shower – one of the best! The room overall was comfortable, spacious enough for 2 persons and quite luminous. The cleanliness of the room was reasonable (there were some parts on the desk with some dust in the first day and the wall paper stained by previous tourists). What we did not like was the smell of urine in some parts of Barcelona, including some of the streets around the hotel. Because the street view, it’s not possible to sleep with window open because of the noise of the cars that collected the garbage in the morning (we used the AC as much as possible, but not during the entire night). Also, there was a bad odor when we returned in the room and especially in the first day. The bad is very hard and the pillows are very narrow but you can always use the extra ones available in the wardrobe. We did not appreciated at all the fact that we were given only one small soap daily and in the last 2 days not even this (we had to use shower gel instead). Also, some other small inconvenients: you may use the free internet in your room but you must have a cable (they don’t have wireless), otherwise you must pay 4e for it; the magnetic cards for the doors did not work too smoothly (at least for us and our neighbors).

Very good hotel, room are well equipped but not very big. Breakfast is excellent, and hotel stuff are pretty helpful. Hotel is two metro stations away from city center (about 10 min. Ride), metro stations are 5 minutes walk from hotel. You can reach Barcelona beach with metro (two metro lines) by 25 min. Ride. Above all we were very satisfied with this accommodation, rate price-comfort-location. I would choose this hotel again. The Rocafort street is very busy, and if you open window it gets really noisy, there is no WiFi in rooms (only in hotel hall) but cable is available at reception, costs 5 €. Across the street there is very busy tire changing shop which is extremely noisy early in the morning.

As far as the hotel was concerned, the best part was dealing with the helpful and courteous staff. The room was small for three beds and the price was the highest we paid for our trip which included hotel stays in Madrid and Rome.

The hotel room was very well decorated, especially the bathroom. The hotel staff were very friendly and helped us find our destinations. The hotel rooms are very small/tight, especially for two people. Plan on packing light as there isn't much room to put all your bags.

“while this isn't a 'designer boutique' style hotel- everything is comfortable, huge scale- including the beds- and the staff are very attentive. there is no feeling that their other business- conferences/ meetings/ parties impinges in any way on the hotel experience of guests. The indoor pool was a bonus in a winter visit. Chosen because of it's proximity to the Palau Nacional / MNAC. enabling us to spend hours with the Romanesque collection.” D, London |
