Eurostars Cristal Palace  

We liked the location. It was a block away from Las Ramblas.

We booked a room with a Terrace and paid extra for it. However, when we arrived, the desk clerk said they didn't have any room with terrace available. I told him that we would then stay only one day instead of the three days we had planned. I even showed him our confirmation for a room with Terrace. He then said he did have a room w/terrace available and he gave us the key to the room. I did not appreciate this deviousness. I would recommend this hotel to others but with the caveat that they cannot be trusted to give you the room you requested.

It was perfectly located, very central but not on a loud busy street. The staff were consistently friendly, professional and very helpful. Our room was very clean and we felt very secure and comfortable there.

There was no shampoo in the bathroom and when we asked for some we got more shower gel - this was a very minor thing! Also, I always appreciate when hotels give an option to guests to save energy - e.g. not washing towels every day, not cleaning room every day, not replacing toiletries every day. We tried to do this by using the Do Not Disturb sign, but the room was cleaned anyway.

Location is perfect at the heart of the city centre, aswell, shopping, eating out and night life. All hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpfull. Special mention for Pablo and Gemma, they are really the hotels best assets. Would definitely book again. :)

Excelent location. The room was quiet, although the hotel location is in a busy area. Room quite large and the beds large and comfortable

The room needs renovation, the bathroom is not the standard of 4 star hotel, even quite poor. TV without music channels in English

The location was very central, only 2 blocks, a few minutes walk, from Placa de Catalunya where we took the city tour bus. We did the 2 routes over two days. We also got the Aerobus back to the airport from there. The hotel is central to everything. So location was ideal. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in any dealings we had with them. I also liked the fact that we didn't have to pay for safe in room. You pay €20 deposit for key, which is returned to you on check out. We usually go to the Costas in Spain and there is always a charge for the safe which can cost 20 - €30 depending on length of stay. Our room was comfortable and clean, cleaned every day and towels changed. Nearly forgot . . we enjoyed our welcome glass of cava which we got a voucher for, for the bar, so we were able to have it when it suited us.

Nothing really. We didn't eat there so can't comment on food. The lunch and dinner menu looked reasonable, but the restaurant didn't seem to be very busy and lacked atmosphere. Our rate, was room only, so we ate out all the time . We loved all the Tapas bars around. The layout was very open, the bar(counter) was in the lobby/lounge area, across from reception, in around the corner and the restaurant just inside that again, no doors separating the restaurant or any part. There's no swimming pool or gym in it, which didn't matter to us. I would stay there again.

The heating sistem in the bathroom was not working.

Great location, the room was clean+light+spacious. A positive surprise was a welcome drink (glass of "cava") and a jacuzzi tub in our bathroom.

- Location is great, walking distance from many sites and direct connection to the subway lines, virtually in the center of all atractions - Staff was very friendly and recommended very nice and inexpensive restaurants - Breakfast was nice with a good variety of options.

- I had a triple room and the additional bed was not very comfortable, better to stay in a double + 1 single room

Loved location, beside shops and central to everything. Staff were very helpful. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast beautiful, catering to every taste. Would stay there again.

Great location, nice buffet.

The room initially assigned to us is terribly small for two people. The first day was a real nightmare. Without functional ac, the room was too hot to sleep in, and noise of people talking outside the window lasted all the night. However, the front desk manager was kind and helpful. He arranged a new room for us the second day, which is decent just as advertised and shown in pics here. So just try to avoid any 'X10' rooms, which might potentially ruin your stay in this amazing city. The WiFi is not stable. You have to ask the staff to restart the router every night.

Very nice position, elegant rooms and very clean.

Unpleasant staff. They charged my credit card for first night before arrival without prior authorization saying it was for late check in.
