The apartments are built like the cave houses of Guadix. It gives a different atmosphere. Nice and cosy. The kitchen is ok, and cosy too. Basics are there, so you could do some cooking yourself (not fully equiped). Staff was friendly, did not speak too much English, but my Spanish was good enough to understand eachother.
Far away from everything. Only go here with your own transport. Difficult to find the entrance, even by daylight. So be aware of that and follow the insrtuctions.
Excellent bed, we were happy
Cave house interior. Mountains. Quiet.
Long way to walk into guadix and no regular buses nearby. Needs more buses to get to places as too many cars on road. Restaurantnear is expensive and no others nearby.
I liked the cave hotel. It was surrounded by countryside outside a small town and close to Guadix. The room was two story and had a small kitchen with stovetop, refridgerator, microwave, kitchen utensils, etc. The furniture was comfortable and there was a table outside where you could have meals. They also had a nice pool area. Breakfast was available for a charge. Nice breakfast room.
There was one person who ran the hotel that had to be called to meet you at the reception. He lived on the property about five minutes away. We didn't have access to a phone so we had to ask another hotel guest to use their phone. The employee was pleasant but very quiet so he didn't seem friendly. He did take us to our room and show us around before he left. The master bath was large with a seat in the shower and beautifully tiled but there was mold in the shower and there was no holder for the shower head. The furnishings were very plain with no frills. Microwave was very loud. Not much to do in the area. There were several small towns close by but nothing very interesting to see.
Found this hard to find which was not unusual as it was off road and at 10.30pm, what did amaze me and im thankful for it was that I called them for directions, they duly gave, but they even went well out of there way to come out and find me, this was well beyond the call of duty, obviously was much appreciated. Would have loved to spend more time here but I only booked as somewhere to lodge for the night and not for the location.
Just could do with some tea/coffee sachets so to enable to make a drink on arrival, but apart from that nothing caqn be said against it.
Novelty of the accommodation
Uninspiring appearance outside the cave. Rubbish under the bushes by the door. The whole place needs a good clean up. The sunbeds by the pool were broken and dirty although it must be said that it was not open officially until a few days after our visit. Other complexes nearby looked better.
Interesting place , rooms actually in caves . Very comfortable . There are restaurants just down the road , although we self catered . Easy to find . Nice people .
Very quiet, we the only guests . Middle of nowhere but we visited Guadix and the cave area as we left next day. The cave apartment was more than adequate and we catered for ourselves very well there. We enjoyed the interesting stopover.
Not easy to find as away from Guadix centre . The sign only facing one way along small road. The grounds needed some tlc.
Fabulous place, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again, motorcycle friendly too being able to park outside your cave! Excellent
Very quiet, warm and comfy. The stuff very friendly, and polite.
A toaster would be useful indeed.
