Fine old building in old town, well decorated and presented, huge room,excellent vfm

Staff were great,very friendly and helpful.The room we stayed in was large, comfortable and kept to a high standard (tea/coffee not normal for Spanish hotels).Terrace to the rear of the hotel with a small swimming pool and a bar. For breakfast there was a good selection and lots of it. Location in a quiet town within easy reach of local attractions and within walking distance to restaurants (recommend Hotel Canet). Hotel can be reached by rail and bus links from Girona airport. Used buses for daily jaunts and a local bar rented bikes as the area is good for cycling. Excellent stay.

The hotelowners received us with great hospitality. They were constantly anticipating on our requests and informed us abundantly about the city of Castello and it's points of attraction. They were very pleasant to talk with and helped us in many ways : restaurant choice, airport travel, next hotel.... We will be back with my family for a fantastic medieval city adventure or with my wife alone for a romantic stay in a little paradise...

Having not more time to enjoy the hotel

Everything really. The staff (two ladies) were absolutely excellent and very attentive to all our needs at all times. The Hotel is located in the old Jewish quarter in the small town of Castella d'Empuries and only a short stroll away from some quite nice restaurants and shops and with some historic buildings plus the enormous and very old church of Santa Maria.. The hotel has a 'designer/boutique' feel to it - modern but in an old building. The room (suite) we booked was enormous and very welcoming with two queen beds, a really comfy settee and sitting area, a large jacuzzi-style corner bath and a private terrace large enough for two sun-loungers and a table and 2 chairs. Perfect for a cilled romantic weekend away. The town is just a 10 mins drive from the largest marina in Europe at Emporiabrava and 15 mins from the resort of Rosas, so plenty to do and see plus the Dali museum is only around 20 mins away in Figureres. There is an underground car-park (quite expensive but secure) and an outside courtyard area with pool and terrace for lazing the days away, There was also a great breakfast choice of Continental style foods which were very fresh and constantly replenished. All in all a wonderful relaxed and very comfortable stay in a smallish, lovely hotel.

Like many other hotels in Spain the car parking was a little difficult but the staff were very helpful in this respect. Not a problem.

We absolutely loved the place: from fantastic room with designing and original interior of Catalonia style to excellent breakfast with a lot of fruits and croissants. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a complementary bottle of champagne and California king bed where you can probably get lost. The hotel offers a decent selection of free movies and satellite tv. The town is nice with picturesque old buildings, calm and relaxing atmosphere, and great restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Loved our time here. Such a generous welcome. We will return next time we are close by.

Despite having walked into the town the previous day to check the garage situation (alerted to difficulty by comments of other guests online), we still managed to mess up our arrival - blaming the GPS...future guests can rest assured that staff will assist if needed! In hindsight, it ws all part of the fun..

The location, in a medieval town near the coast, is delightful. The hotel is a beautifully renovated old house and it was comfortable and quiet. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Castello d'Empuries is a lovely town to walk through, and I hope that we shall be returning one day before long. Very highly recommended.

La propreté, la bonne tenue de l'établissement. L'énergie, le professionnalisme, la disponibilité et réactivité de la propriétaire.

Difficulté d'accès à l'hotel et à se garer en dehors du parking de l'hotel qui ne comptent que 5 places (et c'est déjà bien). Nous devions recevoir des amis qui devaient venir à l'hotel nous chercher et prendre un verre avec nous mais nous y avons renoncé de peur qu'ils n'abiment leur voiture en se garant difficilement. Bon, maintenant c'est aussi le charme d'une ville médiévale aux rues étroites. On peut pas tout avoir!

Tout est très bien rien à dire de négatif car tout était parfait, réception, accueil, personnels, chambres. J'avais déjà séjourné dans cet hôtel et j'y retournerai.

La gentillesse de la direction et des autres personnes avec qui nous avons été en contact. Le souci de rendre notre séjour le plus agréable possible. Les petites attentions laissées dans notre chambre pendant nos excursions. La situation de l'hotel.

Nous avons apprécié le confort luxueux et la décoration de très bon gout de l hotel (parfaite réhabilitation du batiment), sa situation géographique loin de la foule du bord de mer et nous a permis de découvrir le parc d 'Aiguamols, magnifique balade en pleine nature à 3 km de La Moneda. Personnel très accueillant et au petit soin avec nous (préparation de sandwiches pour la balade). Petit restaus sympas dans le village, mention particulière à ''Les Volts''. Possibilité de garer le véhicule gratuitement près du musée La Farinera (5 minutes de l'hotel) et éviter les 16€ de parking.
