Hotel del Mar  

The hotel has been remodeled and the rooms are very clean and modern. The location for seeing the harbor/port, the Ramblas and the Gothic areas of Barcelona is great and all walking distances are minimal. There is immediate access to public transportation from the front door and seafood dining is within easy reach. Good buffet style breakfast selection.

I had a street view - I would have much preferred a port view. Some traffic noise with the windows open. However, once the balcony windows were closed, the noise was minimal.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned daily to a high level and towels changed every day. The balcony was excellent and made our stay very enjoyable.

There was a slight smell in the bathroom from the drainage system, but this was not constant and I suspect was coming from an external source.

The location couldn't be bettered and the terraced room giving a view over the port was wonderful. Within a a few minutes, you are near bars, restaurants and shops and 5 mins. to the beach and the lovely walk by the sea. This was our third visit to Barcelona and we didn't need to use the Metro at all. Turn left, as you come out of the hotel and cross main road and you are in a labrynth of streets with shops, bars and restaurants. If you have a late flight, the lock your luggage away securely. There is also a lounge to relax in with toilets, including a disabled one and hot and cold drinks machines and snacks.

Only downside I had about hotel was smell from our bathroom drain. They need to address that problem.

Great hotel and great location also very clean

I think this is an excelent hotel for people who wnt to meet bercelona or having some nice days in the beach. I strongly recomended. Everybody was nice, the bedrooms were always clean and the brekfast despite low variaty, was good

Some times, in the morning, it smells a litle bad in the bathroom

Location was wonderful.

I thought it was very clean and very pretty; the sea theme was relaxing and I loved all of the decorations! The beds were very comfortable, I slept really well every night I stayed at Hotel del Mar. It was quiet, considering its prime location in Barcelona, right near the Barceloneta stop. It was a great experience.

I thought that the room service people came too early during the day... sometimes before 11am! I like to sleep, especially after having a late night on the Barcelona beach front!

Rooms are very comfortable and clean, the hotel is in a fantastic location and the price is excellent!

Breakfast buffet is very poor, coffee is awful!

Brilliant place to stay ;-)!hotel very clean, and staff was very friendly and helpfull.Breakfast was the best! great location, very easy access to Metro and train station, and walking distans to La Rambla and shopping streets and also easy to get to any other places in town!Great connectiin to Airport, it toook as around 30 minutes to get there with no problem. There is internet acces in this hotel, you have to pay credit card to be able use computer.

I could hear people taking shower in the room beside ,it was a little bit noise.But it was only for few minutes,so everybody could deal with that;-)!

Close to all amenities in Barcelona including the Old Quarter, Buses, Train, Beach, Museums, Restaurants, Banks etc.

Lack of toiletries and inefficient hair dryer.

Excellent location & no noise audible from other rooms.

Room quite basic. Beds were very small. Bathroom towels were not of very good quality. Difficult to shower without causing a minor flood. Shower door not wide enough.

Perfect location to visit all parts of Barcelona

The location was the best. You could easily walk to the beach and also through Barri Gotico to the Placa de Catalunya and the surroundings. Sound isolation was good. Couldn`t hear anything from the neighbours.

The room missed minibar (it would have been nice with cold water and soft drinks during summertime...)
