The Marriot is a small hotel well located on the edge of a golf course with lovely surrounding views. - We asked for a room with nice views - we were given one on the first floor up on the rear of the hotel overlooking the entrance and road. - No porter available on arrival to greet customers or help with luggage and just one matter-of-fact receptionist on duty. - The room was spacious, but a first glance at the terrace where we had hoped to sit showed that it was too small to sit on comfortably and was filthy with green mould on the walls and dust and grime on the balcony furniture with stains on the carpet leading out to the balcony. - There were supposed to be dressing gowns and slippers available in the room but these were absent and were not delivered until the following day. Telephone calls from our room to the reception went unanswered. The first drawer we opened to put our clothes in would not close properly and could not be used. We travel extensively and have never encountered an hotel - let alone a 5* or other Marriots - where one is unable to operate the bed light by itself. For one person to read, it meant having to have the main room lights on ! - There are supposed to be ice machines on each floor. The one on our floor had a sign stating 'out of order' and the one on the next floor was completely empty and in the end we had to go down to the main bar to get some ice. - We thought we would have a swim, but although very attractive, only a masochist would do so as it is unheated and too cold in mid May to enjoy a leisurely swim. - We thought we would try the spa for 20 minutes before breakfast which was billed as including one visit free of charge in our 'package'. Upon arrival there we were asked to purchase swimming hats and although we had normal shower caps these were unacceptable. We therefore declined to use the spa which although it looked nice could do with a good clean on the windows surrounding it.

The few staff remaining at this hotel are friendly and efficient specifically andres (reception) and karim (the hotel's last remaining barman). The chambermaid did her best in what was a tired and scuffed bedroom. I have used this hotel since it opened and from quite a good hotel it has steadily gone downhill. Three hundred words will not be enough to describe what is wrong but include; tired-looking throughout, shabby bedroom, poor quality toiletries, no dressing gowns, no slippers, no tea/coffee- making facilities, fine-dining restaurant still not open (two and a half years). So many staff have been laid off that even the exterior looks shabby. Much of the gym equipment has been removed whilst much remaining equipment does not work. Told the hotel will close february/march for first refurb since opening but reality seems to be that the hotel is always virtually empty with the owners not having the funds to invest. What a pity !

The restaurant food was excellent. My stay was too short and my business too intense to be able to enjoy my stay.

Friendly receptionist! Good quality restaurant, dinner + breakfast excedllent, service teams very good at dinner, b u t slow, sleeping and a bit confused in the morning, when they were confronted with troops of golfers same time... The room was not properly equipped with bits and pieces like glasses, bottle opener a o Water in the bath was much too less pressure, no propper shower and noenough toilet water flush power. The lamp near the bed had a defect switch, light kept only on, when you put something heavy on the switch! Maintainace in total much worse tro compared with earlier years. This was my 5th stop over in 3 years!

It is a very comfortable and relaxed hotel. Breakfast is excellent, restaurant ok, rooms as you expect and the staff are just wonderful. We will definetly return - as a lot of other guests we talked to already did. They were returning guests.

This Hotel is wonderful. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and felt very luxurious. The pool was lovely. It was a really peaceful relaxing stay. The rooms were so well soundproofed you couldn't hear anything when you were inside. It was very hot during our stay but the air conditioning was very efficient so you were comfortable in the room. The choice at breakfast was vast. We would definately stay here again.

Nice area, good facilities. The air conditioning in my room was inadequate and never cooled down enough to be comfortable, even though the thermostat was set at the coldest value. Other areas in the hotel had inadequate A/C, i.e. lobby, restaurant.

Good helpful staff. Hotel was well presented and free glass of cava was a nice touch at check in. Room was good size and had a nice balcony. Both restaurants were excellent, in particular Segaria was fantastic. Pool area was very busy and clearly it is a popular hotel with the Spanish as well as tourists in the summer holidays. Some days it was hard to get sunbed. I would definitely recommend the hotel as a nice place to stay. excellent place for golfers! Very busy in the summer. Hard to get a sunbed around the pool most days. Pool area was noisy with children, it did not bother us, but may if you are wanting a quiet hotel.

We were very comfortable, and our youngest son (age 13) could hang out in the game room or at the pool if the rest of the family was taking a nap. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. It was a great retreat after a day at the beach. In addition, we found the staff very pleasant. Despite the name, the hotel is actually located about 10 minutes outside of Denia, so we had to drive a little more than we expected to meet with our family that was staying in Denia, next to the water. Be sure to get good directions.

I have lived in that area for the past 10yrs. I sold my villa and needed a place to relax in after the sale and before returning to the UK. From my knowledge of the area,The only hotel to consider was the Marriott.. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the staff being so courteous and polite as well as their willingness to help. The cleanliness of the hotel in general is impressive, nothing is to much trouble. The variety of food and the quality is good and if you like that special cocktail at the bar, then Karim is the man. We would have no hesitation in staying at the Marriott again.

The staff were very helpful and food quality was good. We were given a room in which the a/c was not working and had a very hot and uncomfortabel night. However, the hotel changed our room the next day. They wer als kind enough to upgrade us to a room with pool/golf course view.
