Gran Hotel Solymar has an ideal setting next to Arenal Beach, on Calpe’s seafront. Rooms include free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a free welcome pack in the minibar.
Score from 927 reviews Wonderful
Overlooked by Calpe’s famous Ifach Rock, the SH Ifach is 500 ft from Fossa Beach. It has indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor hot tub and large rooms with a private balcony and free Wi-Fi.
Score from 569 reviews Very good
Set just 330 ft from Cantal Roig Beach, Hotel Porto Calpe offers an outdoor pool and views of Calpe Harbour and Ifach Rock. Each room has a balcony with sea views.
Score from 638 reviews Very good
Enjoy views out over Calpe’s Levante Beach and the seafront promenade from your apartment in this new, modern property.
Score from 178 reviews Very good
Helpful and friendly staff More than adequate breakfast Comfortable rooms
Great base, close to the sea, comfortable and pleasant
Location: to get to any restaurants, you need to get an overpriced taxi. Not the hotel's fault, mind.
Food is well prepared and well presented, buffet type Excellent pool Friendly staff Close to the beach, easy to walk around Good public bus services
Although the food is tasty and well prepared, it is hard to keep enough variety for guests staying for two weeks or more...
Everything about it
Main area large and modern.Plenty of lifts did not have wait long We changed our room and staff were first class
Beds could be bigger
Nice rooms, clean with good air con. Good location & lots of choice at breakfast.
Always had a long wait at reception, even just to ask a question (there's no separate concierge). One night we could hear awful live music from the Esmeralda hotel across the street even with the door closed in the room.
We have stayed in the hotel for 11 days now in August. We thought everything about the hotel was very nice, staff very friendly, and the room was very comfy. There are 2 supermarkets next to the hotel - very handy! You did not have very much variety in the restaurant but everything that was there was of very high quality. We are not big eaters so it was perfect for us. Very friendly animation staff! We will definitely go back next year. Thanks! :-)
Our room was on the pools side, the shows (with very loud music) started at 22:30 so if you want to go to bed earlier because you have small children it's best to have the room on the mountains side on the more quiet side of the hotel.
A good hotel with good facilities in a great location
Halfway through the holiday a salsa dance tour arrived and basically took over the hotel and if salsa is not your thing it could spoil other peoples holidays. There needs to be more segregation as all that was blasted out day and night was salsa music.
The Reception was spacious and user friendly and the Staff extremely courteous, respectful and helpful. WiFi worked extremely well, and Bars - although not cheap by Spanish bar standards were not over priced. Beds and bedroom were spacious and comfortable and as I only live approximately 10 Kim's from the Hotel, would recommend it to anyone looking for a Break or Short Stay - Spa was above average for the area.
Unfortunately there was a dance group from the UK staying at the Hotel and everyday from 11 - 13.30 and then from 15.30 - 17.00 their music would "Blare Out" across the pool area and they would dance. Considering there are sufficient rooms around the Hotel to accommodate Dance Groups of this type - I felt it unfair on other guests to have to endure or leave (as we did) the area. Suggest anyone checks with the Hotel that they don't have such a group before booking
The staff were very friendly and helpful in the reception and cleaning areas. The bedroom was large, clean and spacious for placing clothing away
Each morning we arrived for breakfast around 9am and the staff were trying to clear the breakfast and set up for lunch instead of looking after the guests having breakfast which was scheduled to continue till 10:30am. We constantly had to request the staff to set our table and replenish empty or half full trays of food! The coffe throughout the hotel was appalling. One of the reasons for booking this hotel was the fact that you stated that the hotel provided entertainment, especially for children - there was none leaving our grandchildren without anything to do in the evenings. This failure should be actioned upon and if necessary some form of compensation made. The bar and drinks area closed very early at night leaving the hotel with no facilities to acquire a drink! The television reception was appalling! All in all my wife and I and family travel to Calpe two or three times a year and we had thought by using the Diamanté facility it would be something that we could do in the future. However after this experience we will never stay there again and revert back to booking apartments and villas through the various websites and travel companies - A massive disappointment from the whole family!!!
Hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly. Rooms were excellent as were housekeeping.
No entertainment on in the evenings for any of us. Bar shut too early. Breakfast was poor during week days and we thought that it wasn't very good that guests had to pay for the use of the spa.
nothing really! except a really kind and nice friendly lady at reception
food average dirty bathroom for 4 days small 20 inch tv in room small room ignored my request for floor 3 or 4 and pool facing
Staff were fantastic, location was second to none and the view from our balcony was breathtaking.
Had room and breakfast only, however breakfast was not great. The eggs, bacon etc. were cold on consecutive days and the selction not as thorough as other hotels we have stayed in.
Customer service Ambiance, Comfortable room Location
Paying 12 Euros a night to park in the hotel parking area. Very average food at dinner. Some areas of the hotel/rooms are starting to look 'Tired', in need of a re-furb. Only just scrapes in at 4* level for me. No tea/coffee facilities 'in room'
We attended the exhibition which was very good. The horel was very comfortable although we only stayed one night
Lack of choice of snacks throsughosut the day. the bar had only rolls Having to pay for the spa when we only wanted to use the inbdoor swimming pool
Regarded you as a person and not number S
Smoking is allowed on balconies
We came to Diamante beach Hotel for one night only,We live in Spain, and were checking out the Hotel and area because on 3rd April we are bringing a coach of 50 people to The Homes and Garden Show being held at the hotel, We needed to know for sure where the hotel was, check out coach parking and other facilities, We were so very happy, that we plan to stay at Diamante Beach Hotel again sometime in the future maybe for two or three nights as a leisure break.
Cannot think of anything except to say, there didn't appear to be any entertainment on the night we stayed, a Piano Bar was advertised, but No Piano playing, just some piped music and a football match on TV> Not a problem for us, but some people were just wandering around looking for somewhere to go that wasn't Football !!.
Early check-in, large room, good location, pleasant staff.
No coffee maker in room, expensive parking, no blackout blinds (sun blinding in the early morning).
Absolutely everything. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Fantastic value for money, great service, reasonably priced bar for a 4 star hotel. In a great location and very luxurious rooms with a large balcony with fabulous views. Highly recommended!
Everything was amazing, room was spacious and clean and modern.
No room service
Extremely efficient and courteous staff in a splendid hotel. Very nice spa
Was charged for car park and wasn't told at check in. Wouldn't have parked in hotel if I had of known.
