Hotel Eden Roc    

Wonderful location on the ocean. Beds and linens extremely comfortable. Restaurant staff very nice. Lovely view amazing location.

Hotel is extremely run down. Front desk staff do not speak much English. The whole place is in serious need of updating and grounds are unkempt. One of the pools was drained.

Fantastic views over the beautiful mature gardens to the rocky bay beyond.

The indoor pool was very cold and the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were closed for the winter although this was not mentioned on the website. Although we had a free upgrade to a suite, the bed was damp and the toilet smelled of urine even after cleaning.

Excellent large spacious room with private balcony and lovely sea view. Very good restaurant for breakfast although mainly geared up for European taste(cold meat and cheese)Dinner buffet was superb with a great selection.Room was very clean, quiet for sleeping, just the sea.

Only a few staff around except in restaurant. We were unable to get a coffee or drink before dinner although the bar was lovely.

is was grate! we booked a room with view to the sea, and we had huge window with amazing view. in saterday they did some welcome drinks and tapas and it feeled very fency and good, and the amazing stuff, that had the patient to answer our million questions, recomended for us for activity, such as sunday-market in the town (wich is quite expencive, but very nice to little walking)

Location quiet but short walk to town. Hotel had everything we needed and was good value for money.

Toilet had a strange design. Water tap loose. Too narrow corridors. Difficult to find ones way to reception and to restaurant.

The location and the staff welcoming .

Very old and the bars and restaurant closing early , there was only one bar tender running two bars there, no sufficient staff in the hotel.

Certainly the location of the swimming pool with view on te sea and access to a small beach with rocs at both sides

Was the saloons ; spanish but dated furnture ; poor light and deserted saloons; one rainy afternoon but no servers in the saloons ; one lady at the reception was not so friendly

Very pleasant to stay

Location built on top a rock in Meditterra Private beach. 3 pools. Spa. Jacuzzi.& Everthing else tomake your stay enjoyable a big resort but numerous places to sit, relax, swim in private if you choose Reception staff very helpful and accommodating Close to town and shopping with or without a car. A pleasant stroll down the hill, a few rest coming back up. Car parking

No western food at breakfast. Eg, scrambled eggs. No Tea & coffee facilities in room. Western cultures always finish the evening with a cup of tea or coffee. We had to walk to the top bar, a 5 min stroll up hill to get a coffee, it was cold when we returned to our room. No Iron in the room. Some of the waiter staff were impatient with language barriers. one actually told my husband off, He went to the the top bar for a coffee, and sat on the bar stool, and was waved, and ordered outside, where he sat for 5 mins without attendance, and finally left without a drink.

Friendliness of all staff,particularly reception staff. Good atmosphere overall. Meals average but service good. Excellant position of hotel overlooking the sea. Nice gardens.

Hotel a bit jaded and many facilities not open. Cocktail bar for pre or after dinner drinks/relaxing not operating. Bar near pools closed at seven o'clock in the evening. Seems that this hotel was much better a few years back but now suffers from lack of investment as many things have not been maintained. Prices far too high for the facilities on offer. Parking practically impossible at times as hotel has no car park. Many guests hounded by local police for parking.

The hotel is located on a headland about 30 minutes walk from the main town, so it feels like a self-contained complex. It has pleasant gardens and pools with views of the sea, so forms a nice relaxing environment. The buffet style meals are of good quality and choice and the waiting staff very friendly and helpful. If you are not on half board, the costs are very reasonable - all you can eat dinner just 15 euros. The Superior room we had was well appointed with a/c, a mini fridge and good size balcony. Be warned though, some sold as Sea View rooms in fact have large pine trees in front, blocking out the view!

There is a bit of a feeling of cost cutting around the hotel, many facilities are in need of repair or are out of use. One of the small pools was out of acton, as was the pool bar and there is no main bar in the hotel itself, just a somewhat basic terrace bar overlooking the pool. There are insufficient sunloungers around the pool area, so towels would appear on every available one by 8.30am each morning - any later and you have to sit on the concrete!. There are no sunshades, all the bases are stacked in a corner, but no sign of the shades themselves. Also, be aware that there is a public pathway between the sea and the pool area, with no fencing, so security is an issue - local lads were found several times using the facilties and one would wonder about leaving any personal possessions around when swimming. Reception staff need training in being more welcoming - a smile of recognition can go a long way! This hotel could be 4 star with some capital expenditure, but currently I would only rate as a 3 star. If you get the right price though, good value and overall we enjoyed our stay.

The words that best describes this hotel is "controversial". We were given a standard room, which smelled strongly like mould and was the opposite of comfort. No view, just a hidden, small balcony, old toilet and a very simple shower. Not worth of the price. Then we wanted to change this room, and for 8Euros/person more we were given an extra- luxurious Suite. It was surprising to see the two faces of this hotel in nearly the same (not-cheap-at-all) price.

It needs more care from the staff, in terms of cleaning several parts and especially not sending the guest to rooms whose windows were not probably opened in 2 months.

Setting and beach - set amidst lovely garden with lots of secret places. Pools overlooking private bay. Very lovely. Lots of space to wander and find tranquillity even though children around. Hotel quirky but got used to it. We were upgraded to a suite but it was a little dated and felt like it had been locked up for a while. Views of the garden nice Breakfast good. Short walk downhill to town where we will be revisiting - gorgeous - lucky to happen upon a huge fiesta that night too - bonus

Room smelly at first because it hadn't been used. The whirlpool let out a bad smell too and wasn't working - drains I think. Once we had been there for a few hours with windows open it was nice though - the smell cleared. Bar and breakfast staff quite surly - looked annoyed if you sat in a place they didn't want you to. I asked for ice and received a bad tempered response - may need training !

The location. It had a beautiful view and was a nice walking distance to town. Good internet access in rooms.

The grounds were a little run down. They were starting to work on the gardens which are lovely but need a lot of up keep. Many of the decor in the foyer and other areas was outdated and cluttered. If they just renovate a few places and take away some furniture it would be a lot more inviting.

A bit past its sell-by date - could do with refurbishment. Difficult to find your way around (to pool, bars, breakfast dining room etc - no signs) Sea view was only partial due to overgrown tree obscuring half of it - the room next door would have had virtually no sea view! Beautiful gardens overgrown making pathways difficult to negotiate. Grumpy receptionist!

A most interesting and entertaining setting. We had wonderful sea views, and enjoyed the way he building and it's surrounds had been developed, enlarged, improved, all in an almost eccentric manner. We stayed just at ther start of the summer season, when the hotel had a low occupancy rate, and had the benefit of an upgrade.

De ligging. Het personeel in het restaurant erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het restaurant had heerlijk en gevarieerd buffet.

De mevrouw bij de receptie was niet gastvrij. Zeker naar de kinderen toe was ze onaardig. In het binnenzwembad mogen kinderen wel binnen, maar moeten stil zijn. Niet duiken, niet spetteren, niet springen. Dat was niet van te voren duidelijk! De jacuzzi werkte niet. De sauna werkte niet. Het buitenzwembad was erg koud water .
