The service was great at El Convento, friendly and helpful. The à-la-carte breakfast delicious, especially the coffee. The room was comfortable and the views from the terrace were breathtakiing! Tricky to drive up to the nearest parking lot and to get out as the streets if this medieval part of the city are really narrow. Parking is free on Sat and Sun so we were lucky.
I wish I had noticed the warning on hot water limits before taking my shower and waited longer after my husband's shower as he used most of it!! No worries though, it woke me up for the day!!
EVERYTHING!! Views, awesome service and advice on what to do and where to go. Lucia was a incredible! She did a great job of making our stay wonderful! El Convento is one of the best places that we have stayed at anywhere! I can't say enough about Lucia and what a great job that she did. She truly "cares" about all her clients and goes out of her way to make sure that everyone enjoys their stay. Awesome job!!
room with huge terrace overlooking the countryside, quiet location in the middle of an old village
El Convento is an absolute gem. The staff are fantastic and can't do enough to help you. The rooms are a good size but, as others have said, do yourself a favour and book a room with a terrace. The terraces are huge with fantastic views and are perfect for a relaxing breakfast or leisurely nightcap. There are lots of great tapas bars within 50 metres of the hotel and Arcos itself is a charming town. The wifi in the hotel was good. All in all a great place to visit and a great hotel to stay in.
The beds, as with most hotels in Spain, were very firm and not the most comfortable but that is a very small gripe.
Beautiful views from the terrace, which was well-equipped with sun loungers, a table and chairs. Staff are so friendly, they offered to bring our gins and tonic to us on our terrace and couldn't have done more to make our stay perfect.
El Convento is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Arcos de la Frontera. The rooms were clean, comfortable and offered unparalleled views of the valley below. The staff were all very, very nice and incredibly helpful. Exceptional all the way around!
I loved everything!
All of the above and the views were unbelievable.
Leaving! It would gave helpful if there had been a restaurant for dinner recommended.
The view is great! The room is big and comfortable!
For us, nothing was too much trouble for the staff at Hotel El Convento. Lola who works the front desk is such a wonderful host. From the moment we arrived she went out of her way. She told us the good places to eat, where to park, how to get in and out of Arcos (no mean feat) and suggested a great day trip. The breakfast is delicious and just taken to another level with that sublime Arcos view from the terrace. The room is spacious. The bathroom a great size too. You have to book a terrace room. They're fantastic. We considered the Parador but got such a frosty, couldn't care less attitude when we went there for a drink. After that we returned to Convento feeling line it was home.
This is an amazing place, which has taken my breath away. We had a glass of wine at the parador a couple of nights (which was nice) but really, this little gem wipes the floor with the parador. The views are staggering. We paid a little more for the luxury of the terraza which was well worth it. The breakfast on the roof terraza is also a wonderful experience. If you are looking for peace, tranquility and dramatic views, then you will be in heaven here. There is a little restaurant in an enclosed walled patio just 2 mins from the hotel which has great deals. The food is good, the chef formerly worked at the parador and is very proud of his work! There is a little public bus that takes you to the nearby lake, there is a restaurant with a terrific terrace looking over the lake, which also has a swimming area or pool.
Perfect position situated within the touristy part of Arcos, Bedroom views to die for. Restaurants & bars within walking distance. Beautiful place. Hotel perfect, very clean, helpful & couldn`t do enough for me. By far the best hotel on my trip. I would stay here again.
Unclean & room was ant infested. Staff were rude & said we should not have had food in the room (we always travel with a packet of biscuits). Artificial lemon smell. No tea/coffee facilities. AC directly over the bed in a small room.
A well run and well appointed hotel. I really enjoyed my stay there. Really comfortable, and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable.
The view from our private terrace Character town Proximity to everything
Take a small car as roads very narrow
location in old town, view, staff, how close it was to historic buildings and good places to eat. Would stay at El Convento again when if Arcos
Perfect Hotel. Everything great, Center of town, great price.
Parking lot 10min steep uphill walk
Everything great. Very pleased with my stay.
The staff/owner? was so nice..Our room and view was excellent and so reasonable espically when compared to the paradore which had the same view. We really like it.
It was only a block away from the paradore and parking lot and some may need detailed directions..I had contacted them and had those so it was very easy to find. It is in the old city so driving up through small portals may scare some but we had no problems.
Wonderful view-spectacular! Great rooftop deck. Fantastic staff person-friendly, very helpful. Great location.
Incredible location, welcoming and lovely staff, incredible views for a very reasonable price - what is not to LOVE? This is one of the best places I've stayed in my many travels and the value for the price is unbeatable. You could pay far, far more and stay at the Parador, but I don't think you would surpass the incredibly wonderful experience we had at El Convento. It was our favorite hotel from this trip, and one of our top hotels in our global travels.
-Hard to find -Although it was clean, it had a worn out feel
Absolutely everything. This place is exceptional. The rooms were lovely, but the view was incredible. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and our breakfasts were excellent. We can't wait to go back.
The view, the view, the view. And walking aroiund the clifftop streets. The staff were very helpful and welcoming.
