Location, mallorcan breakfast, room size, traditional service
Good location. Beautifully-maintained original features.
Free parking a 15-minute walk away.
A very friendly atmosphere, clean and tidy, very quite while also having the most central location possible in Soller.
Friendly, clean, good location Charming female manager , slightly unusual male breakfast server but only caused us amusement - no problems. Good location right next to tram And square in soller .
Location and character of building and friendly staff
Lack of a/c in rooms.
The staff at this hotel are fantastic and not only knew who I was but took care to be as flexible as possible to fit around my plans. The hotel was very clean and my room was serviced every day even though I left my room very late on occasions.
If you want a modern minimalist hotel, this place is probably not for you, but who wants anonymous characterless hotels anyway!
The food is wonderful ,it is tasty and well presented plus value for, money
Difficult to aces wi fi in room but it is an old hotel with thick walls and this may have been the problem
Everything about it, great experience
Only thing that wasn't the greatest was the breakfast and that they had no iron to use sort from that room, hotel, staff are perfect place to stay.
Superb location - short stroll to central square for pretty church, bars, restaurants and trams. An excellent Saturday market selling everything you could imagine. Live music in the square. Soller is a lively, warm and interesting town with a mountainous backdrop and palm trees.
Being in the centre of town meant early mornings were very noisy (not the hotels fault, of course). The drains were very smelly.
Quiet and good location in central Soller. Well staffed . Old fashioned in the nicest way.
Next to the antique trains nd tram and five to ten minutes walk from the bus. Great staff, great big clean room. Wifi not super strong but who cares! Nice to limit the connection. Great breAkfast even accommodated vegetarians! Loved my stay!!!
This is a lovely, old and meticulously maintained hotel in the gorgeous mountain town of Sollér. The proprietor is third generation owner of this unique and very special property. It is a place where you feel you are back in time, very relaxing and spotless, with a lot of attention to detail. The views are stunning as are the surrounding gardens and it is well situated away from the central plaza, but within an easy short walk to all. It is very close to the scenic tram station down to the Port of Sollér. We stayed for several days and by the end, we were so relaxed that we left our business clothing behind in the wardrobe and the ever patient proprietor, Cati, was kind enough to send it all the way back to us in California, arriving safe and sound! We would love to stay again and highly recommend this hotel to all who appreciate a unique and charming ambience, steeped in cultural history.
excellent location, very friendly staff, helpful with sharing tips on what to do. parking available close by. nice breakfast, not with options but different everyday and good quality.
no WIFI in the rooms, only in reception and with very poor reception. No double beds available in the bedrooms with AC.
Location is very convenient for train & tram, the hotel is kept very clean and run efficiently, staff are professional and helpful. A very relaxing and pleasant experience
Nothing to dislike
Cati was very welcoming and helpful in all things. We had a lovely spacious room with superb mountain views. The breakfasts were delicious and varied each day. The standard of the food in the restaurant where we had dinner on two nights of our three night stay was excellent and very reasonably priced. It was just a shame that the restaurant wasn't better patronised, but being situated on a small quiet road rather than in the bustling square it would not benefit from people passing by. We loved our stay and would definitely return to this hotel when next staying in Soller.
The staff was very kind.
The in-depth cleaning of the room every day is not very comfortable as it puts a constraint on the use of the room. Also, it is not healthy for people with allergies to cleaning products.
The location was ideal. Close to main square to easily get to but far enough away to avoid noise.
The attitude of (who I presume was) the owner. Unfriendly, monosyllabic, everything seemed to much trouble, NEVER smiled or conversed with guests or other staff, He served breakfast which was absolutely awful. Only choice was coffee with milk or coffee without milk. Apart from that, same every day, small glass of orange, small pot of yoghurt, revolting roll with unmentionable and unidentifiable filling (meat?) and stale roll with jam. The other staff were very pleasant. No a/c and bedroom was sweltering.
This traditional hotel and it's location couldn't have been better - our cool double ensuite room looked out over the mountains. The owners were really friendly and helpful. Eating places in Soller get mixed reviews but we ate at El Guia one evening and the Mallorcan food, wine & service were really good. Breakfasts too we're varied, tasty and plentiful.
The wifi was very poor and even though accessible only in the reception area, sometimes it was difficult to send/receive emails.
The El Guia hotel is of a typical authentic Majorcan style. I like to stay in the small independent hotels, I feel that guests are treated in a more personal manner. The staff and proprietors of the El Guia were attentive and very helpful. The hotel is near to the train station an advantage when travelling to and from Palma. It is also close to the main square where there are bars, restaurants and the locals congregate every evening. I had a very enjoyable stay.
I can't think of anything
The hotel was well situated on a quiet road near the train/tram station. The proprietors and staff were very professional and worked extremely hard to ensure the facilities were spotlessly clean. The attention to small details was commendable and the hotel was comfortable and very effciently run. The outside area/patio garden was well maintained and the addition of two seating benches enabled guests to sit and enjoy the outside space. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.
In my opinion there was nothing to dislike.
Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Good restaurant with excellent service. Pleasant and genuine atmosphere.
Difficult to reach by car (but staff was helpful in finding parking once we found our way there).
Staff very helpfull and made our stay perfect. Service which is hard to find these days from a small hotel. Food very good. Would definitely recommend as would stay again.
