We had a warm welcome from Diego who was very helpful. The first evening we had trouble getting a wifi reception so we were ushered into his office to get the best signal, complete with his family watching football! He spoke very little english and we have limited spanish but we managed to communicate ok. The rooms were simple but clean and each had a private terrace with table and chairs overlooking a pleasant garden with sunloungers. The hotel was easy to find with plenty of parking. There was a short walk to the beach and just 5 minutes drive to Tarifa. We booked in for 1 night and ended up staying 3. We would recommend the organised group day trip to Tangiers, good value for money (if you don't mind the inevitable carpet shop visit)
Room commodities were like a standard hotel (superior than most hostals), which was very nice after a long (9 hs drive). Free park and WiFi should also be mentioned. Our room had an internal division into two small room, perfect to fit our family.
No permanent staff. We arrived late (around 11PM) and there were just a note in the office asking us to call, however we did not had a mobile phone with roaming service. I had to find a place with free WiFi to call via skype. In the morning after, it was holyday and the hostal was closed (cafeteria, office, everything). The person in charge arrived around 12PM just for our check-out. They were very nice, though...
Everything was good except for the wi fi which was very poor, at least from our room. Pleasant reception lady gave us a map and circled attractions in the town. She also offered to open the restaurant to get us beverages as it no longer opens except for breakfast. Lots of parking on site and easy short drive to town. Nice room with good lighting.
WI fi was pathetic. Night watch lady could not understand me and "insisted" that with the proper password, it should work. Alas....had to do without!
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room and the facilities are good
Location next to main Road. Nice court. Great staff. Great for summer as very close to the beach.
Far from Tarifa center. Nothing to eat near. They served only breakfast.
staff was very friendly, great location near the beautiful beaches in the Tarifa area
WiFi did not work all the time, but this was apparently a problem of the provider
The view of the sunset right across the hostel was breathtaking, with windmills in the background and the waves in the front.
Nothing to not like. Good for a short stay of a day or two.
Room was clean and large. The staff was very helpful
The beds are terrible. Not confortable at all.
Rooms with private terrace, calm atmosphere, close to the beach, price
Everything was ok.
Friendliness of staff, bungalow away from traffic noise
Beach best for kite surfers, not swimming, many flies
nice staff, good breakfast, free parking and wifi, the beach is about 1 k walking from the hotel the walk and the beach are beautiful.
*Perfect location for kitesurfers, walking distance to beach *Simple standard, clean and enough space *small patio for storage/drinks in the evening *grass, which is perfect for maintaining kite equipment which is full of sand *good wifi
We stayed for only one night and had very good sleep besides the hotel is just on the main road. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable. Great place to explore Tarifa and the seacoast by car. Parking is free.
Possibility to get breakfast and coffee, nice staff...
Not so cosy for family, but if you are with friends, very fine. But too close to main road.
Spectacular location with views of the bay. Outdoor, location of rooms. Very helpful staff. Offered free parking for our 2 days in Tanger.
Excellent, really friendly service. Superb value for money. Spotlessly clean.
Friendly staff, speaking french as well, on the beach and on the main road, easy to find about 5 min drive from the city.
We only spent a very short time (1 night)
The staff was very friendly and helpful, gave us good advices, The rooms were clean and comfortable, I liked our terrace and that we had a free parking place next to our room
The breakfast was not that good
Familiar and friendly people; good accomodation for travelers, young people and families; Chilly atmosphere; English speaking; Giving tipps for traviling in tarifa and around
We arrived to the hostal after midnight and the staff tried to call me to see where we were and that they would be leaving at midnight. But my phone was dead so I didn't get the messages. When we arrived they had left..but one of the guests called them, and they came back just to give us a key and let us in. That was really nice.
The beach is on the other side of a busy 2-lane highway..and even though it looks close, it isn't so easy to get to. It is dangerous to cross, and then you have to walk a bit to access the closest beach. For the price I was expecting better beach access.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, location at the border of 2 natural reserves with wonderful open views and close to beautiful beach with many kite surfers, that you can easily reach by foot, and attractive small town Tarifa. Good and reasonably priced breakfast, parking close to the room, big and attractive room with terrace and view on the garden. Lawn chairs and shower in the garden. We stayed 10 days and were very happy there.
Location close to the main road, so ask for a room towards the garden.
Diego, the owner, was very friendly and helpfull. the room was comfortable and above average.
a little noisy at night
De lady who serves the breakfast and foes the check in is quite unfriendly and seemes to stressed.
Close to the beach, would work well for those who doesn't plan active night life. Very nice and welcoming staff happy to advise, or help you with some small requests, like a glass or spoon. Clean.
The only one bar in walking distance. Wifi was practically absent in my room (N9), however in the restaurant worked well. Restaurant is closed after afternoon, for dinner you have to drive somewhere else. No fridge, no cooking facilities. No spot to socialise. First day it was too smelly of "perfume", I had to keep windows open several hours before going to the bed.
We had a very good stay in Hostal El Levante. The thing that stayed with me the most is how friendly they were. The Hostal is family owned and they are very kind and helpful. Our room was very clean and they cleaned it very well during our stay. Breakfast was also very good. Coffee, tostades and orange juice. In short, our stay was wonderful!!!
