El Ribero de Langre  

Good views, not far from Loredo/Somo beach.

Had troubles with wifi access point configuration on the second floor.

Going to El Ribero de Langre is like visiting your family at the countryside. The personnel (owners) are very nice and receive you like guests more than clients. There are 12 rooms in total. Our room, on ground floor, was not big, but had everything needed, with a nice view to the sea, and access to a small garden. The quality/price ratio is excellent. Should we go to the area again, we would return to El Ribero.

Not an issue because it is clearly stated in the commentaries, but be aware that the hotel is in a very small village, and you will need your car for everything. Once in Langre, follow the indications of the hotel carefully, and you will arrive without problem.

A cosy family run B&B is what I would describe this hotel. Great wifi connection and good breakfast. The restaurant La Caracola in nearby Somo has great seafood and worth a trip?.

It's quite along drive to Santander although it is only 8 km away. Room is quite small and no English TV program.

The views and the nice, simple, clean rooms where the main advantages. The environment is absolutely beautifull! Also, the breakfast was something to enjoy. Staff was very friendly but I think only one of them is able to speak english, this makes communication very hard if you can't speak Spanish.

The checkin women was very cold, we didn't receive any welcoming words or any info about the area at all. And a really bad thing where the matresses, they are very hard.

Great place with ocean view, only a 5 minute walk from ocean cliffs. Beautiful beaches nearby within walking distance. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and a super fantastic deal with breakfast included. Camino de Santiago (far northern route) runs right by here. You need to close the windows at night or you will have flies in your room in the summer.

This is a family run hotel and we stayed twice during our stay due to the position close to the Santander ferry. The family were fantastic and offered us secure motorbike storage in the owners garage (next door). The hotel is modern, has wifi and is located on the coast close to beaches. The owner went above and beyond what was required to make us welcome and ensure our stay was comfortable. Freshly squeezed orange for breakfast ... Fantastic!

El Ribero de Langre is a fantastic, modern and unbelievable guest- friendly accommodation, located directly at the coast with an outstanding seaview and the most beautiful sunsets in the evening. Never met more affectionate hosts!!!!!! Just perfect !!!

It can be difficult to get around without a car, because it is really in the countryside.

Fantastic view and a great breakfast. Enjoy the sunset while you dine from the hotels small but good menu. Very nice personal. Great beach 15 min. walk from hotel.

Stayed here on the 2nd leg of our trip travelling around northern Spain. The hotel was a delight upon arrival! It is fairly new so the rooms and public areas are very nicely furnished and it is kept immaculately clean. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was fantastic and we had a lovely terrace overlooking the sea and Santander. The family who run the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful – the father doesn’t speak much English but is so eager to help and is a real gentleman. I would recommend breakfast – continental buffet with freshly squeezed orange juice and pancakes brought to the table. The hotel is set in a lovely sleepy, peaceful rural farming area with great beaches just a short walk/drive away. Wildlife round here is fantastic – you can watch birds of prey circling overhead, hear the cries of frogs calling to each other at night and see glow worms in the grass! We even watched a hunting barn owl one night on our way back from the local restaurant. Speaking of which, the local restaurant is also worth a mention – Hosteria Llaranza – within walking distance of the hotel, it is run by a very friendly couple who provide good wholesome food – the menu of the day is great value.

Disliked nothing but be aware that the area is very sleepy and peaceful - not for those wanting somewhere lively!

I have choosen El Ribero for the excellent feedbacks of previous travelers and I have to say these were absolutely right. The hotel is a brand new facility in the surroundings of Langre, facing the Santander bay. The rooms have kind of modern furniture, nothing fancy but nice and functional. The view of the bay and the seaside facing Langre is spectacular, especially sunset. The hotel is also very clean. But the thing I have been pleased most is the management. El Ribero is in fact operated by a family and they are completely at your disposal during the stay. A warmth that is not common even in higher rate hotels. The breakfast (which I do recommend you for just 4 euro!) was one of the more relaxing times in the day. So thanks to Ramon and his daughters Marta and Haydee for the excellent job in running this little jewel! And Ramon, your honey is just excellent! Alessandro - Milano

Nothing special, please note you need absolutely a car for reaching the hotel. Despite it is in front and in view of Santander, you need some 30 minutes to go to the city. The area has few restaurants also, the hotel offers some food service but I have not tried this.

Great family run hotel. Small enough for personal attention. Just 30 minutes from the Santander ferry. A little hard to find - look on Google Earth first to locate it. Fantastic views, quiet, excellent breakfast. Note that there are no cafes/bars/restaurants within walking distance. Could not fault it, and was the best place we stayed at in 2 weeks in Spain. Motorcycle friendly. (We parked in their garage).

The hotel is situated in a very romantic place, perfect for couples (honey moons, etc). Staff is very helpful, rooms are bright and clean, with everything you need. I can highly recommend this hotel to those, who are looking for a nice break in quiet and romantic place.

Staff is nice and helpful, but if you don't speak Spanish, communication in English may be a slight problem.

We read the reviews prior to booking and decided to book El Ribero de Langre based on good feedback and quiet, tranquil location at the top of beautiful sea cliffs - we were not disappointed! Ramon and daughter Eli (apologies if my spelling is wrong) are 10/10 for customer service and genuine friendly nature and we thank them for a wonderful stay. The whole family incl 'Agua' the dog are the perfect hosts. Anyone wanting to have a peaceful stay in a beautiful setting should consider this hotel, although one word of caution is to ensure you have SatNav in the car as the location is remote and difficult to find initially. sehr schön gelegenes hotel. das personal bzw. die besitzer waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und geben gerne tipps über sehenswürdigkeiten etc.wir hatten ein zimmer mit meerblick und auf die stadt santander, einfach traumhaft. jederzeit wieder.

La ubicación, el entorno, la puesta de sol insuperable...pero sobre todo el trato de Ramón y su familia que te hacen sentir como en casa. Un placer desconectar en el Ribero.

estuvimos aqui por semana santa del 2013 durante 4 noches. no voy A explicar porque no es el caso que cantabria es una maravilla paisajistica. tampoco hace falta decir que es una delicia Y una potencia gastronomica. lo que si me toca comentar es que estuvimos Y nos sentimos estupendamente tratados en este pequeÑO pero "gran" hotel que es el rivero de langre. si aunamos el paisaje, la gastronomia Y sobretodo el trato que nos dispensan las personas.... que mas podemos pedir A unas pequeÑas vacaciones..... solo poder volver. gracias A ramon, sra. E hijas por su amabilidad, atencion Y sencillez en el trato en todo momento. felicidades Y un abrazo de jael Y antonia fiol.

la dificultad para localizarlo.

Muy buena ubicación y el trato muy agradable. Te hacen sentir muy cómodo. No se oye ni un ruido y la zona es impresionante.

Que no haya chimenea ! :-)
