The deck and pool! No newspaper such as El Pais and us Today. It would also have been better to have the pool heated and a coffee maker in the room.

The location was ideal for the City Centre shopping and Bars The roof pool was closed despite the weather being 70-80 degrees, this should be extended until the end of October NOT the beginning. MAny people were on the roof terrace sunbathing and this justifies the pool being open. I would recommend this hotel more if they did open the pool for a later period instead of closing it in October.

Roof terrace is lovely. Room size (425) is very good and the windows keep out the noise extremely well. The hotel is perfectly located near the metro and city tour bus stops. The shopping and restaurants off the Grand Via are perfect for exploring and enjoying the city. It is wonderful to have tea & coffee facilities in the room. The bathroom was great - clean and modern. The decor seems a bit old fashioned.

Location was excellent.Breakfast was very good. Rooftop area for relaxing. Swimming pool was good but water very cold. Guests should note that the hotel has a policy when your account exceeds €500 they request payment by delivery of a letter and invoice to your room. We disputed this with the management as they had not notified us of their policy and we were staying a week. We paid by credit card at the time of our departure and this was accepted. We hope the Hotel discontinue this unusual practice.

At "The Emperador" I really had very nice and warm welcoming by all the people from the staff. My room was really very very clean and confortable, perferctly air conditioned and very quiet. The bathroom was also very cleaned, fitted with a very confortable walk-in shower and fully furnished with luxury bathing amenities. People from the staff were all very kind, friendly and absolutely helpful. In just a couple of words I really had very nice stay at The Emperador in Madrid and I definitely would suggest it to my friends.

Location was good but We were charged more than the booking amount. We specifically booked a room for three and they kept our room ready. For three nights, we were to pay 392.08 Euro, but they charged @ 150Euro per day plus tax under the pretext that the room was booked for three persons but the price quoted was for 2 persons!!! Moreover they quoted Breakfast included, yet we had to pay 5Euro per person everyday for eggs!! I paid but left with a bad taste. I sent a request to give us a room on the higher floors facing the main road. They gave a room on 3rd floor saying the other floors were under maintenance but I saw gusets cominfg from the 9th floor the same evening. Bad!!

The location is the key here. Centrally located on the main busy street of Madrid. Key sightseeing features are all within a 10min walk either direction of the Hotel. NOTE: When you get to Madrid there is now a bus that leaves every 15mins to the city for €2 !!! It would be €30 in a taxi. A fantastic service. Plus again the hotel is only a 15min walk from the city center bus drop off point. Ask for a higher floor. Because vi would imagine on ground floor you will hear some street noise. Check in not till 2pm.

Location is excellent bang on Gran Via. We had a romantic offer on booking.com with a champagne bottle. But the hotel was reluctant to give the champagne. Initially they said it will be delivered by evening as there are many bookings are done on that offer. Then in the evening they denied that offer was given to us as it didn't show in their computers. After 4 calls to the reception then they sent the bottle. Room was small than what showed on the booking.com website. Air condition was switched off only warm air coming in the room. We have to open the windows as it was stuffy inside. They didn't put on a-c as they switched on to warm air due to cold temp outside. But it was warm with 15-25 c outside. We had to suffer the noise from the road as we couldn't sleep for 2 nights. Worst sleepless nights after paying 120 euro per night without breakfast!!!!. No complimentary water, no coffee maker in the room.

location, clean rooms The first room had windows facing a wall in 1 m. We have requested a normal room with windows facing a street and they claimed we need to pay additional 35 EURO/day to upgrade to superior room. Our argument was that the normal rooms presented on the web site looked different and at the end they gave us a normal room (not a superior room) with a decent view, at the same price.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were particularly helpful and assisted in booking shows for us and making suggestions for places to go to. The only negative points would be that the swimming pool is only open in the summer, the gym is tiny and the breakfast while excellent is rather expensive. Aside from these small points we loved the experience at the hotel and would go back again.

“We liked everything about this hotel. The location is fantastic - right in the middle of Madrid and close to several different areas for bars & nighlife etc. All of the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. The bloke who checked us in even gave us a choice of three different rooms depending on whether we wanted a room with a balcony, one on the top floor or a slightly bigger room lower down the building. This hotel is very clean and well maintained with all of the facilities you would expect from a four star place but at a very competitive price. Excellent value, couldn't recommend this place more highly.” Patrice, Birmingham |
