Rooftop terrace with (cold) pool Club Emperador Central location
Poor quality wifi in lobby No free wifi except lobby No free wifi for Club Emperador members Coffee sachets in room "rationed"
Room very noisey at night - felt like neighbours where in room with us!
roof top pool
slow check in horrendous lifts
Great location to get around the city. The roof too pool & terrace is a real plus. We loved it & would go back again.
If you want a room with a view you'd need to request it as we had a wall to look at but didn't matter to us as we were out sight seeing or relaxing on the roof top pool.
level of cleanliness
The location of the hotel & the cleanliness of the rooms
I made a request in my booking for a certain room which was 222 and for gran via view but it wasn't fulfilled.
great location, can walk to most places pool great in the summer breakfast was varied and frequently replenished
no mirror in our room room service very slow too few beds around the pool for number of guests wifi in lobby very hard to use as eveyone is on it
I liked pretty much everything!
We NEED WATER to live. Do NOT make people pay for water at the pool. And we were denied to bring our own water. That was
perfect location, pool (!)
no conditioner, no body lotion, no tea and coffee make facilities
Location Terrace view and pool Good value
Sofa bed in triple room Club room was poorly stocked, under staffed and not very clean.
Hotel is in a fantastic location We were able to walk to most places or if not the metro was right outside the hotel. Rooms are good with lovely big beds but terrible flat pillows Pool is cold but great when the weather is so hot.
Ideally located for sights restaurants and bars Great roof gardens and pool area to come back to after a day walking the city
Rooms a little tired
Location Rooftop pool and bar Bedrooms
Abrupt security guard Breakfast is quite limited with non fresh pastries
The pool area
Cost of drinks in hotel
Amazing pool with the view of the city.
No negatives but the pool/ roof top bar area could have been utilized for late night drink/ parties
The pool! Nice and cold against the heat.
Smoking allowed on roof top no smoke free zone.
My friends and I came here for a hen do in July and it was fabulous. Lush hotel, the rooftop bar/pool were great, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The location is very central - right in the heart of everything you'd want to do/eat/see in Madrid. Would definitely stay here again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Would highly recommend.
Bed was a little hard.
Staff solicitude and old school four stars feeling

Emperador is really close to all we wanted to do in Madrid, we walked to Prado, Reina Sofia, Plaza Mayor and all the surrounding nice areas. The pool area was very nice after a day out in town, and the pool actually big enough for you to swim in, and you were able to dive in because it's 3 m deep at one end. Our room was big, comfortable with a couch, we stayed on floor 7 and had a nice couch and twin beds. Cleaning was perfect, and we were really taken care of. One evening they missed to make our room ready for the evening though, but that's a minor thing really. The breakfast, which was included as we had a Club Emperador room, was good, but I would have liked a bigger variation of bread (which they don't seem to have much in Spain, I'd love more whole grain!), and I'd also loved more vegetables, it's was a totally fine breakfast but nothing really overwhelming. We also were able to go to the small VIP lounge were drinks and snacks were offered, unfortunately noone seemed to tend to the area, so often when we got there the tables were filled with used glases, and the snacks seemed to not be filled again since morning. We had salad in the lobby twice, the first time the goat salad was great, the second time, the slice of cheese was thin and a disappointment. Overall we had a really nice stay at Emperador, it's a bit pricey, but worth it.
We had a room facing Gran Via which turned out to be really noisy in the evening and during the night, we stayed four days, wed-sat, and I had trouble sleeping all of them, I'm not used to city sounds so that might have been me, but if you want a quiet room, make sure it's not facing Gran Via.
The location of the Hotel is great for visiting Madrid.
The pillows were too soft. The installations of the shower needs upgrading. The schedule of the pool should be revised to allow guests to enjoy a early swim and most important wifi should be available in rooms and not only in the lobby.
Breakfast was expensive and there wasn't much choice
The pool, the helpful staff, location.
NOthing to dislike.
Property is very tired
