Location was fab if not a little difficult to locate-although we did arrive with no map at 10.30 at night! Room overall very good value for money. We were unfortunate to have an alarm sound from when we went to bed at midnight until 10am the following morning-consequently an awful if non-existent nights sleep. We tried to alert the owners but nobody answered our call. Staff were generally very scarce and so not the place to stay from our experience if you are after advice on where to go/what to see.

The location was great. We had a lovely balcony and it has to be the cleanest hotel we have stayed in. Loved everything about it and will recommend to anyone.

This is our 2nd time here. The rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Nice to relax in a quiet surrounding - not like the big hotels with lots of people. Tea/coffee machine is on the ground floor. Would be nice to have facilities in the room. Nothing to do with the hotel but if the bells from the local churches would stop ringing 'All Nite' - this would be great. Kept us awake all nite! I know it's VILLAGE LIFE, but it's not peaceful!

Spent one night over Easter at El Escudo de Mijas, charming, small hotel in the heart of Mijas so that you can enjoy the ambience of this quaint town. Decor is a spanish rustic style with small but adequate bathrooms but very comfortable rooms. Parking is about 5 minutes away either in the street or a secure multi storey. Mijas is nestled on a hillside with spectacular views of the coast, hence, there are many steps so be warned. Horse drawn carriages, donkey taxis, ceramic shops and souvenirs. Plenty of pizza and paella restaurants however, if you want true Spanish dining try Rte. Fiesta which is situated on the right as you enter the town. Overall fantastic hotel

Simply an excellent value for money! Large and clean room with a balcony and view, located in a quiet area of the centre of Mijas. The hotel has very limited facilities (not even breakfast), but there are several restaurants within 100 meters from the entrance of the hotel.

Hotel was perfectly positioned, very close to town which could be reached without using the car. It was spotlessly clean with every amenity.Excellent value for money and certainly one of the best Hostals we have stayed in. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have made the stay even better.

The hotel is in general very well set up and it's designed with taste. The staff is excellent and ready to help you on anything you need. Very friendly and efficient. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. Excellent for relaxing and for couples. Beautiful view of the ocean from the rooms. The only minus is that it doesn't have an elevator, which makes it difficult for taking the luggage to the 2nd. Or 3rd. Floors. No wake up system, but you can use your own cell phone alarm or ask for a manual alarm in the reception.

Charming place. The hostel is very cute. Location great. Room a bit narrow. However, room 10 in particular, has very nice view and a balcony. Hostel staff very kind. Recommended (would come again). Not so easy to find: need to find your way from the main square, and carry your luggage up on the staircase (not possible to access by car as for pedestrians only). Hotel has no elevator. Not recommended if mobility problems or heavy luggage.

Good location. A quite street and tucked lower part of Segovia. Short walk to every thing. The Hotel is newly restored, clean, very nicely done with typical Spanish design and deco. Rooms are gig, clean and very comfortable. We paid 60 Euro for a night9mid-week) it was excellent value for the Money. Need to park your car of a public parking lot. Ask parking info when you book room. You can walk from the parking lot, if you do not want to deal with driving into the old city I Loved the hotel. It is only rated as Hostel among 9 hotels we stayed in last Spain trip but it is more like 3 star hotel than a hostile. The hotel is nicely renovated, clean simple deco. Great view of Mediterranean ocean from some rooms. 2nd floor rooms has a good size balcony. Room 9 and 10 has full view of Mediterranean ocean from the balcony. If you drive, go to Plaza constitution where elevated side walk is filled with restaurants tables. The hotel is up the stares side restaurant El Camello and a leather shop. Drop off your luggage to hotel. The front desk Staff is not on the hotel for 24 hours but she is available on the phone all the times. If is understandable for 10 room hotel.
