The location Friendly and helpful staff
Overall impression is that a tidy up and a coat of paint would do wonders to improve the general outlook of the whole place.
Needs 2 fans in the large dorm Kitchen time restrictions
If you are not afraid of bedbugs and roaches, you are welcome
Excellent location, very reasonably priced.
When we arrived we couldn't find the hostel as it wasn't sign posted. As a result we had to phone for directions and one of the members of staff collected us. Stairs leading up to the hostel were very dark and dirty, almost like something you would see in a horror film. The hostel itself was really quite dirty, floors hadn't been swept or mopped in what seemed like years. The room was very dark due to window that was covered up and looked out onto a brick wall. Even if the shutters were opened the room remained dark. I feel like the photos used by the hostel do not reflect the real property. On one of the nights we discovered that one of the appartments upstairs is in fact full of drug deals that are selling out on the streets. There were often men lingering in the stairway and outside the front door to the building. Very intimidating.
hard to find entrance to the hostel at all
nice little hostel, good for meeting people
Fantastic Location and quite good value for money.
The Entrance and stairway up to the hostel looks a bit like a run down crack house. Also with no signage and just a graffiti'd garage door, we walked straight past it several times.
I liked the frontyard in the room for smoking and some people i met in the hostel. And the very strategic place of the hostel.
I didnt like the showers were just a mess, the service are very careless, there are no breakfast you can make a coffee with solubil pack. The personal dont really give a fck of you except the administrator it was very nice. The front door of the entry is awful and the palace is under construction.
Building hard to find - there is no sign, it is an apartment in a building. Most of the time no one on site. Need to be aware if arriving outside of the hours of 1400-1800.
The "Feel" of the place -- There was an almost family-like atmosphere. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and well maintained. The outside terrace was really nice, however it does get closed at 10pm. (Understandable due to noise annoying neighbours)
The front door is close to impossible to find, and upon entering, you sometimes wish you didn't as there was a very distinct smell of faeces in the stairwell. (This smell does not permeate the accommodation however.) Hint: Look for a number 6 on a largish wooden door.
It was a nice central place to stay and felt more like a shared home than a hotel, probably because it is a converted town house. Nice communal area and well stocked kitchen. Showers were good but if you stay in too long the hot water runs out. I'd definitely recommend this hostel and would stay again :-)
There was some building work going on in the property which meant it wasn't as nice to sit out on the terrace. It didn't matter too much. Might want to avoid the weekends as stag parties like to be rowdy, unless you join them! ;-)
good location in commercial street. the facilitates are good i.e. microwave, fridge, washing machine etc.
the building is under reconstruction now
The staff were amazingly cheerful and friendly. The location was pretty good, on a side street on La Rambla, very near to the metro.
The charges for late check in are quite high!
location and wi-fi.
the location is just next Palace Reial but no sign and no notification to be noticed. so it takes so much time to find this hostel.and there were so smelling, noise, and snoring people. it was quite hard time to stay there...
The hostel was located very close to la rambla. Price was law.
Entrance of the hostel was hard to find and very messy. In my room was no daylight, room was that small that it was difficult to move. Noise, darkness and lack of space were the biggest disadvantages.
dirty ! very unconfortable! hard to find the place! bad bed! when you check in late, you have to pay 20 Euro! no place to keep our luggage!noise! the worst place I have met！
VERY NICE, HELPFUL MANAGER, 3 CLEAN, COMFORTABLE BATHROOMS, WELL EQUIPPED, SPACY KITCHEN, QUIET ATMOSPHERE, PLEASANT PATIO - JUST 10N SECONDS FEOM LA RAMBLA, AND 23 MINUTES FROM THE SEA.
STAIRCASE LOOKS LOUSY (BUT THE HOSTEL DOESN'T)
The location was great, Mariano gave us really good tips on food, bars and sights in the city
The cleanliness was poor and the beds were very uncomfortable. Also there was no real reception so we had a problem to check out in the morning when we had to catch our flight (around 9.30am) even though I asked previously that someone be there to return our deposit.
Outdoor terrace Free stuff in the kitchen Central location
Windows opened onto public areas so not very private when we needed ventilation and daylight There are no signs on the doors of the block to say which one is the hostel so difficult to find!
Great location - La Rambla, Barri Gotic, Rambla del Mar
There were insects in room - cockroaches and bed bugs, the smells from the nearby kitchens by the open window, warm water limitation, dirty walls in the room
Very nice people are working in a hostel, location is wonderful right in Las Ramblas.
Has bed bugs infestation! Do not stay here. We found bed bugs in the bed and furniture immediately upon our arrival and notified the staff, and they switched us to another room (that we eventually learned also had bed bugs). One employee explained that the owner knows it was a problem but continues to rent the room, and indeed the next night they rented out the (first) bug-infested room to other guests. The staff was rarely around, and the building entrance was disgusting and smelled. Do not give these people your money.
the location is super good, and the staff is also warmhearted
no wifi was available in our room.
It is noisy because of neigthtbours - you can hear voices of them for the aslmost all night. The room in wchich we live was very dark because of lack of window.
