Score from 28 reviews Very good
Stunning views over picturesque village and mountain landscape. Hotel is very smart and clean, to the extent of being slightly clinical. Helpful staff. Sumptuous breakfast buffet. Heating/aircon very effective. There's an outdoor pool if it's warm enough for a dip. The village is great for an evening out but make sure you take a torch for the walk.
Shower attachment was terrible - lead too short and sprayed everywhere, so no good for people who prefer showers to baths. Wifi faded in and out a lot. Parking cost extra, but there's a free public car park opposite if you can find a space in it. No tea or coffee-making facilities in rooms. Good hotel but stayed in ones with better facilities for a lower price on this trip.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Estrella and our day in the Alpujarras. The hotel is clean and modern and the staff is friendly and helpful. Their breakfast is outstanding. The village of Pampaneira is nice respite from visiting the cities of Spain. I highly recommend the hike between the three villages of Pampaneira, Bubion and Caprileira. Gorgeous mountain views!
friendly and helpful staff, fantasctic breakfast (very tasty and wide choice)
We had the junior suite - well worth the little extra for a balcony overlooking the valley and the extra comfort.
Very helpful and friendly staff Clean Delicious breakfast
An exeptional welcome with chocolate and champagne in room! A BIG picknick bag when departing early morning cause we went by local bus to Orgiva. MARVELLOUS!!! Gunvor Norway
Nice Hotel with friendly staff. Room was big and had a lovely balcony overlooking all the mountain range. Breakfast was excellent. Pampaneria was a lovely village.
Very professionally staffed by a very likeable family (who were genuinely concerned when I failed to return from my hike in the national park and almost wept when I finally turned up). A truly delectable breakfast and the room was light, spacious and had a balcony. A newly renovated hotel.
Nothing at all.
Everything. Staff so helpful. Room fantastic. Breakfast out of this world - never had better anywhere
Not a thing
Very friendly staff
Location difficult to find because address listed on website was inaccurate.
Nice clean hotel, large room. Helpful personnel. Good location for different trekking activities.
At edge of small village in the mountains. Fabulous breakfast.
Very helpful and friendly owner and staff. Beautiful rooms with balconies and views. Immaculately clean
Loved the village atmosphere and traditional food.
We stayed in the junior suite for 3 nights. The hotel is situated just outside the village on a sharp bend in the road. There is some traffic noise but late evening and at night all is peaceful. Would have given 5 stars but a bit of maintenance needed. Lift out of action and I couldn't persuade the spar bath or or hairdryer to work. The views and breakfasts as everyone says are really special. Tried all sorts of things I've never eaten before. Two suggestions. Drive on from Capileira on the dirt track. You will climb to over 6000 feet with stunning mountain views. If you take a couple of right turns you will drop down into Portugos on the main road. Allow half a day to visit the La Taha villages below Portugos and Pitres. Strolling round these will take you back centuries.
Only thing that affected us was weak wifi.
Everything was perfect location food staff room wifi. I can't say enough good things about this hotel!
The only thing I can think of is that the elevator didn't work but the very sweet receptionist offered to help us with our bags.
It was a modern hotel run by all family members. The place was spotless and service excellent. There were 2 individual bottles of cava in an ice bucket together with a bowl of fresh raspberries, some chocolates and sweets awaiting us which was a lovely surprise. We used room service for a bottle of wine and it came very quickly with glasses, an opener and an ice bucket. Nice touches. Breakfast was excellent with proper tea which is not what you usually find in Spain.beautiful clear, cool water and magnificent dry air. Great base for exploring the Alpujarras.
The bathroom could have done with a towel rail other than the one at the end of the bath for storing them. A couple of hooks would also have been useful for hanging either a towel or housecoat.
The owners could not do enough to be more helpful.they provided gluten free food for my wife as she is a coeliac.was always service with a smile.the room was super.this hotel should be a 4 star. Would not hesitate to go there again or recommend it to others.
The hotel was clean and the room was very big.
The pool area outside was very small. The small balcony from our room gave almost directly to the road. The rooms were adequately furnished but lacked charm (we had just stayed at a beautiful Moorish building in Granada, so this may have affected how we felt about the hotel in Pampaneira)
The staff was very helpful and pleasant....made us feel at home. All very clean and neat and in good condition. WONDERFUL BREAKFAST! Beautiful setting.
Nothing stands out except maybe the hair dryer which didn't work. But since I carry my own it isn't an issue.
excellent location , very pretty looking hotel , extremely spacious room that was more like an apartment, Breakfast was fantastic , loads of home cooking of savories and sweet cakes . Can not fault this place
Huge variety of savioury and sweet at breakfast. Very friendly staff, they even had delivered a chilled cava to our room as a surprise. :) Clean and spacious room, nice little terrace and a yacuzzi bath..
Fabulous breakfast. Home made local foods, an absolute feast. Swimming pool under snow capped mountains. Glorious flowers. Just a fantastic place
The drive up there. Scary but worth it
