Throughout the public areas of the Ayre Gran Hotel Colon you can admire the stained glass windows and frescoes created especially by Manuel Ortega, known for his work in the city’s Cathedral. Complementing these artistic surroundings are the nearby galleries of the Golden Triangle, containing some of the world’s most recognisable works.

Ayre Hotel Gran Colón offers its guests an expert team of professionals specialising in the organisation of meetings, conventions and banquets. 24-hour room service. WIFI system in all Grand Lounge and lounge areas. Internet connection in the lobbies.

The hotel also has a large cafeteria and an American bar, a gym with magnificent panoramic views, sauna, an ultra violet sun lounge, and private garage. During the summer months it will be a pleasure to make use of the summer terrace with a private garden of 1280 square metres.

The hotel has 14 meeting rooms available with a capacity from 8 to 350 people, fitted with the most modern audiovisual media, where clients may hold any type of event, whether meetings or banquets, celebrations and weddings. The hotel has a art gallery/ gift shop.

Food & beverage

The hotel’s restaurant serves a wide range of innovative dishes at lunchtime (13.00-16.00). In the evenings, enjoy the seasonal dinner menu whilst taking in the fantastic views of the hotel gardens. You can also try the hotel’s cocktails, smoothies and extensive range of snacks.

The lobby bar hosts a weekly jazz night on Thursdays.

The rooms are distributed in 2 buildings: Edificio Europa – C/Pez Volador, 1 and Edificio América – C/Pez Volador, 11.

You can easily take a stroll through the beautiful Retiro Park, once the place where Spanish royalty enjoyed a day in the sun. On the far side of the park you will find the Golden Triangle of world-famous art galleries, as well as the cultural heart of the city.

The garden restaurant and the room - the reception staff upon leaving
were qauick and professional

The reception staff upon arrival - unattentative and slow - the

Reasonable quiet. Quite close to metro station.

The hotel was a middle range four star hotel. It has two quite distinct towers which are almost like two different hotels.The tower we stayed in had not been very recently totally renovated. Some improvement work had been done. The area around the hotel is a little soulless but feels safe. Overall good value.

The staff was very kind as the room was very well clean

The rigid hour to do the chek out. I was told that, at most, I could leave at hal past noon, is spite I explaine that I had a compromise in that day untill noon, at it was difficult to me to leave at that time.

The quality of the hotel rooms is good, make sure to stay in the Europe building as the America building is old and outdated. Parking garage can be reached from hotel, but is charged 26 euro per day.

gym was low quality, half of the equipment was broken/out of service, sauna&solarium&bathrooms were permanently closed, bar closes at 10.30PM even if there is plenty of guests in the bar? hotel is remote from city, takes about 10min metro ride to reach city center.

Excellent, spotlessly clean, away from the bustle yet easy and inexpensive by metro, which is very close to the hotel, to get into the centre of town. The staff cannot do enough for you.

I could find nothing to dislike about the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and have always felt that it was a good choice. Rooms are clean. Desk personnel kind and helpful. Location for us is near family, metro, and busses. Walking distance to park and resturants.

Rooms were great, really modern and clean. Bathroom/wet room very spacious - shower really powerful. Maid service every day, change of towels every day. Hotel reception & room looked good/modern due to recent refurbishment. Close to metro stop (Sainz de barande) too which was great. Easy to get into the main town and all other surrounding areas, day or night.
