Gallery Hotel    

The hotel is quite cool & trendy in a safe, convenient part of town. We walked easily to Las Ramblas & even walked to the Sagrada Familiar early one morning. There is a nice bread shop directly across the road too! The front desk staff were very helpful with maps etc.

Clean, spacious room

Location is the best in Barcelona. Cleanliness of the room was up to standard. Good wi-fi internet connection.

Booked a double room (paying extra) with double bed for single occupancy. Room was available but with twin beds. Beds are smaller than standard and not comfortable. Room on the 3rd floor was dark, facing an indoor patio. Lighting was not appropiate. The rooms are frequently sprayed with a very strong air freshener which bothered me. Facilities, amenities in the room and service were poor. A CD player is in the room but nowadays is useless. Staff is willing to help but they are not enough to assist everyone: Long waiting for check-in and check-out. Keys for the rooms have to be given back to front desk everytime you go out and to be ask for everytime you come in: Takes time and is actually annoying.

Great location, good staff, they speak many laguages, very helpful.

Breakfast was poor and VERY overpriced. Made no effort to make it right.

Restaurant = 100% OK, very good service, Spotless rooms and very comfortable beds; Very quietly rooms, no noise from elevator. Super location between Rambla Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia. People at reception are very friendly.

The hotel is centrally located between Ramblas de Catalunya and Pesseig Gracia. It in comfortabel and good value without being ostentatious. The staff are friendly and helpful

Great location within walking distance to Diagonal Metro and lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Professional and helpful staff at front desk reception who speak good English. Clean and comfortable hotel room with nice view of the street. Hotel situated near La Rambla and just one station away from town centre.

No aqua/water provided int the hotel room. Only a small free bottle on first day of stay.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Location excellent, beside metro, plenty of good restaurants and tapas bars within walking distance. Rooms spotless and beds very comfortable. We had triple room, plenty of space. Also quiet, not noisy, far enough away from the hustle and bustle, yet plenty just around the corner.

i stayed on the 5 floor for half a day and i couldn't stand it! the tv was not clear at all. they gave me a key insted of a key card.. i didn't feel good about staying in the hotel for 7 days so i changed the hotel from the first night!

I stayed at Gallery Hotel with my husband for a city break.We were upgraded to a suite on checking in which was lovely.The free WiFi is a very good feature & it works everywhere. The hotel location is the best in Barcelona. There are numerous cafes and restaurants of exceptional quality within walking distance.

Clean, no-nonsense hotel in a great central location. Excellent and easy access (for Barcelona!) carpark. Free wifi that actually works! Great that you get mineral water, bathrobe, slippers etc. in a standard room. Some hotels are stingy about this.

Thermostat in the shower was hit and miss!

Friendly, helpful, English-speaking staff. Central location near restaurants and shops. Hotel is very modern, super clean, and has a GREAT breakfast buffet.

Our stay was a prequel to our Mediterranean Cruise we were taking out of the Port of Barcelona. This hotel was centrally located and provided us with ease to get around the city by walking. The front desk staff was eager and attentive and provided many suggestions to make our stay enjoyable. On balance is a good price for the stay and we were pleasantly surprised with the room and the space it had. We would definitely recommend the Gallery Hotel to our friends, family and colleagues.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and had many ammenities. It was convenient to the hop-on, hop-off buses as well as city buses and had a couple of restaurant choices as well as local take outs. The staff was very efficient.

I was travelling with my 92 year old mother and we had just completed a 12 day cruise so we had two large suitcases, as well as smaller ones. We had to leave at 0730 for the airport and had to handle our own luggage as porters were not available until 0800. They did not even offer a cart for our use. I am sure we are not the only people with early flights and this was very difficult for us. I was very disappointed.

Comfortable rooms, well equipped. Convenient car parking. Very well located, 50 m from a metro station.

Reception staff were not very friendly. Gym was not air conditioned.

Location, location, location. For a big city like Barcelona, location was key for us. For the price we paid, this hotel was worth every penny. Located extremely close to Diagonal Metro, Gallery Hotel was fantastic. This hotel is located in an extremely fancy part of town, one block off of Passeig de Gracia (the 5th avenue of Barcelona). Our hotel was also located near a street one block away that for like 2 miles had all open aired cafes which was great for either food, drink or to simply people watch (note that these places charge up to 20% supplement on top of tax to sit here outside, we only found out when we got the bill!). Also, if you are in Barcelona to shop, this hotel is for you. All the best boutqiues and fancy stores that Barcelona has is within walking distance. The front desk staff was awesome. They all spoke decent English, and provided a tourist map for us, marked off where we were and helped us find whatever we needed. We did not try the restaurant (for any meal) as there was a bakery across the street and often we would either skip breakfast or had snacks that we brought from home for breakfast. We did have a late night drink outside in their outdoor lounge area which had pretty comfortable couches and chairs. We also upgraded our room to one with a larger bed and access to free minibar. Note: It appears that a "double bed" listed in Europe seems to mean "King" sized. When we were upgraded to a room with a double bed we had to clarify the size as since we are from the USA, double bed is pretty small. This bed was huge. I am not sure that 20 Euros a night was worth the minibar and the bigger bed. The minibar did have sodas, waters (still and gas), other drinks a chocolate bar and chips. Often, we would take stuff out of minibar put in suitcase and let them refill for later. I would say unless you feel like you will be desperate for a late night munch, don't opt for this (unless you don't mind paying the extra money).

It was hard to get ice. We would have liked some ice for our drinks in our room but only way was to beg the bartender in the restaurant bar.

Location Free (working) WiFi

The rooms felt like it hasnt been renovated for 15+ years. The furnitures one day probably looked really modern and stylish but now they look really overused... The hotel still has the old key system, so you really have a standard key that u can leave at the reception and when u come back u just say a number and they give the key back to u, tough they never checked if we really took the proper key, this left me a little worried about the security so I made sure i locked everything valuable in the safe. We also received a twin bedroom even tough we requested a kingsize. We couldnt fix the twinbeds into a fixed position so they kept sliding away, which was very annoying.

great location. right beside the metro. lots of restaurants v near the hotel. beds were so comfortable and the hotel was very clean. Gorgeous terrace with cooling fans in the evening which was so nice for an evening drink. Bar staff were so nice and very nice to the kids with bowls of chips! Would def stay there again.

The staff were very helpful, especially the bell boys. Great location and the hotel was very clean, rooms a comfortable, clean and the beds are great.

They only had two English channels and they were news channels.

Being American - I only speak one language. We were on a 16 day trip around Europe. This was the first encounter we had that almost no one spoke or understood us in English. Not their fault - just weird for us since we had not had the problem yet. Also, no one at the hotel seemed to know how to help us with the electricity/conversion. They could not tell us were to find or buy a converter to plug in our laptops and phones. They also did not seem aware that they actually have a 110 outlet in the bathroom (which I found later) for shavers, etc. We ultimately found a utility store and bought a converter and were able to charge and use our laptops and phones. It just seemed strange ---- like we were the first American's that had ever had this problem. We would stay there again.
