Building Staff Facilities
Tourist tax Expensive No good if you are going by car when they are changing the side of parking. It's a mess. When the car is towed away, you should pay a fortune to get your car back. Not so close to the city center.
Family atmosphere and really friendly staff. Quite place and short distance from the underground, very comfortable. Considering the economic cost, an optimal solution.
The frigo box outside the camera, a little noisy.
World-class customer service. Anytime I had a question - how to use the metro, where to go to catch a movie or a show, online ticket reservations at the front desk, etc., they were always there with a friendly smile to help out. While mostly a younger crowd, at 43 I didn't feel out of place at all and there were other older residents. Great people I met there who I socialized with my entire 5-day stay - always a good bet for the solo traveler in Barcelona. Nice to have that place to "come home to" at the end of each day.
Minor difficulties - it is a "bit" far from central Barcelona, but then again you can hop on the L3/Green line nearby at Valladura metro stop. The back yard area was great to socialize, but it's in a residential area, so they want you to be quiet after Midnight (in Barcelona?). Bed did not have blankets, but then again it was HOT (and no AC, although they did provide fans).
Staff was very friendly and helpful
As I've already decided to come back to Barcelona in the future, I'll probably stay at the same hostel once again. It had all the necessary: friendly and helpful staff, free wifi connection, clean bed linen, free lockers, normal washing conditions, good breakfast buffet (cereals, milk, orange juice, toast, jam, muffins etc), fully equiped communal kitchen and even the local supermarket was very close.
The fellow boarders were great, and the staff was generally very helpful.
We didn't receive warning or instruction on traveling back after the metro closes the first night there and the first map we were given didn't include the hostel. The second night there we received a bigger map that did include the hostel and the hostel manager was much more helpful than the person at the desk the previous day.
This was my first time traveling alone. This hostel was very easy to find. It was safe. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The internet worked great. I later moved to central Barcelona and it was no where near as homey.
great hostel, great atmosphere
i had a VERY small single room - but for such a price - i am not complaing at all
Really helpful and nice staff! Location was great not being in the middle of centre. Garden and roof terrace was wonderful. Definitely going to stay there again!
nice place with nice people, I recommend
It's a lovely and homely place. There's a nice co-op atmosphere and has made me want to stay even though I wasn't planning on it. I liked the solo room, it was cheap too.
They went from very cheap to very expensive during a night. It started with 16 euro for a solo room and went to 21 euro for a bed in a shared room.
Not ideal for mature couple
I loved the atmosphere. I fell in love with the place immediately. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is decorated to make you feel at home. There is plenty of space to relax instead of being confined to the room you've chosen to stay in. The beds are comfortable as well.
The staff were friendly and fun.
The place was not clean and the beds were terrible to sleep on. There was no consideration of noise in the morning or at night.
Staff was very friendly and willing to help, close to a metro stop, free wifi, areas to hang out
Location was a little bit far but it is close to a metro stop so it was not a big issue
The hammock! We loved the people and the rooms.
The price spiked like crazy for Xmas and new years all over. This hostel did, too, although less so.
