Gran Hotel La Florida  

Location on hill top was very nice, views and resto staff were outstanding.

Reception staff assumed one could not understand any spanish, and gave us a taxi with a high charge for waiting for another customer who didn't show up. We took it, as we needed to go to the airport. Room for two only had one glass in the entire room and the . Mini bar had no bottle opener for the beers. These are little things that shouldn't happen in a place the bills itself as a 5 star.

The hotel itself was beautiful and the views from the room was out of this world.

The location became an issue until we got to know the transport system, including bus, rail, fenicular, and metro.

Very close to Tibadabo, staff were very helpful and professional. I love this hotel, amazing cocktails and the view of barcelona is unbelievable.

Make sure you ask for a city view room the higher the better.

Great views from the hotel over the city in daylight and turning into an illuminating city at night..just amazing!!

Restricted parking area. The rooms were not sound proof and you could hear the strong winds howling all night.

Very nice hotel. Very good service from the friendly staff who all spoke very good English. They even gave us a free room upgrade which was really nice. The room was cleaned daily and all bed linen was changed daily.Had breakfast each morning which was a little expensive at 20 euro's a head, but didn't use the restaurant so can't comment. All of the facilities offered were of a very high standard .

A little far from the city center. Taxi fare was around 20 Euro to the city. There was a bus service to the city center which only cost 4 Euro and ran every 10 mins. The only draw back was the last bus was at 6 o/c in the evening.

Wonderful friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, but would have liked to have a cook frying eggs etc. at the table.

Horrible indoor swimming-pool - dark and miserable with hardly any light. Very poor design.

The hotel was very nice and the staff very courteous, professional and helpful. Our room was wonderful. I had a wonderful massage while there and we used the hot tub which was very relaxing. We would like to especially say a special thanks to Lisa, who was very friendly, spoke good English and just as nice and professional as you can get!

We thought that the food in the restaurant was not that great and very pricey. The Bar Food was better, but it was pricey too...along with the drinks.

The doesn't get any better. The pool, spa and terrances are fantastic.

Some features of this hotel require better maintenance and the quality of the breakfast buffet is too low for €28/person

Kind of too far from the city, no other transportation available but taxi witch is quite expensive to pay on a daily basis, even more times per day. And also the hotel staff tell you if you want to call a taxi from the hotel, it;s arrival is guaranteed to be 15 min. Whenever I called, the taxi came no earlier then 30-40 minutes. Not such a good opinion about L'Orangerie, me and my partner wanted to go one night without a reservation; we were told the restaurant was fully booked so we just stayed in the lobby and we could clearly see that until 10:30 pm there were a bunch of tables free.

We were at the end of our 3 week trip to Europe. We were in Barcelona and had rented an apartment in the center decided instead of going to Madrid instead to stay longer in Barcelona. I wanted to stay somewhere more quite and had stayed at this hotel in 07'. We went to check in at 2:00 but our room was not ready. We hung out until 5:00 when the room was ready. They comped our breakfast as a result. The next morning the AC was leaking and not cooling. They moved us to one of their nicest suites. There was a young lady their "Constance" who took really good care of us. The staff their are very accommodating and did everything possible to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A+ Despite the earlier issues I would stay there again. The view from the room was amazing the upgraded room was awesome and I was grateful for this.

The food was my biggest issue. They really have got to improve this. If you want to set the AC to a cooler setting then you have to inform them. They control the settings within 3 degrees. For the price and quality of the hotel they need to provide docking stations for smart phones. It is the 21st century, seriously? Nearly everyone has one these days.

Felt food choices not expansive enough since hotel so far from any restaurants or other eating options. No services like magazines etc. not for families

Not a great deal of options with dinner around the area, with no private vehicle your choice of dinning is limited to the hotel.

This hotel is unigue. It's got the wow factor everywhere. Staff can't do enough for you and the food/drink is not expensive as other reviews suggest. Downtown Barcelona is where the rip off merchants prey on the tourists.

This was a superb hotel- I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely return myself.The hotel is very luxurious and the view is stunning.For any food lovers the restaurant is fantastic

It's in the hills feeling. But so close to the city convenience. A real luxury retreat..

I thought the food let it down quite badly. Too expensive and unimaginative. Not of five star standard.

The hotel was everything we hoped for. Reviews we read were correct - the hotel was very relaxing, excellent service, friendly staff, beautiful views. Breakfast was expensive and a taxi in and out of Barcelona soon stacks up, but we knew this before arriving and were prepared to see past this, as the hotel is the sort of place to push out the boat and really indulge. Loved it. The perfect place to relax.

Room was slightly smaller than I pictured when looking at the website, althoughthe room was lovely especially the bathroom facilities.

Very nice and cosy hotel with great and exclusive view from mountain Tibidabo to Barcelona. Nice interior and decorations. Free spa and big swimming pool (with beautiful view as well). Big and clean room with big bed. quite big bathroom. We got room with terrace - it was great! Natural and good quality shampoos and soaps.

Paid parking (20Eur/per night) and there is no other opportunity to park car somewhere else (only under the hotel along the mountain road), so rather you'll park at hotel garage. Far from the center, but it is compensated with great view. We used rented car so there was no problem at all to get to the center (15-20 min). High prices for everything in hotel, that is not included. Expensive breakfast.

£46.00 for breakfast for two is expensive, its nice but not that nice (sure it was advertised at £15 when I booked, no evidence of this and it seems they are more upfront now with this). Parking is £20 per day. So the basic room rate is cheap but you get stung with the extras

Wonderfully relaxing. Able to lie in without being disturbed and able to eat and drink whenever one wanted. Lovely spa facilities and look forward to returning in better weather to be able to swim outside.

Only two pillows on kingsize bed. And could have done with another chair for eating breakfast in room.

The view over the city, the pools and Spa, the helpful staff, the big room with balcony and view, the confortable bed. I was provided with a conference room for free for a meeting with clients. Free wifi. I stayed at a promotional rate at a true and unique world class 5* hotel for the price of a regular 3* standard room.

Wifi signal very weak or not present in room. Food selection and service of tapas bar does not match the overall high standard of the hotel
