Excellent value for a spacious hotel room. Staff was helpful and courteous. Good location. About 10 minute walk to train station, Santa Ana district, 15 minute walk to Reales Alcazar and cathedral, about 20 minute wal to Plaza de España which had a lovely park right next to it.
Wi-fi passwords had to be reset every 24 hours.
The hotel was a perfect location- approx. 15 minutes from the center of everything. Extremely clean and comfortable- a fantastic value for the money.
Only downside was the wifi which was extremely weak and often didn't work.
good value for money
Helpful with directions, within walking distance bus station.
The hotel is located midway between the railway station and the city center in a quiet plaza - good choice if you do not want to take a taxi. The room is very large and comfortable, TV offers a good choice of intrernational channels, personnel speeks English and breakfasts are excellent. WiFi spped is good, although a new password has to be obtained for each 24 hour period.
The only noticeable drawback was the unpleasant smell of wetness from the bathroom - the room would benefit from a nicely smelling air freshener.
Quite central location, 5 minutes from Santa Justa train station and 10 minutes walking to Santa Cruz area.
Not too far from all the attractions Comfortable beds, clean showers English news on TV
Terrible Wi-Fi Breakfast is not worth the price Parking is expensive Very noisy when there are other guests since the walls are very thing and the plumbing is old and noisy when you flush the toilet. It was a rather hot November when we were there but the AC was working only on heating (guy at the desk told us that's how it is during winter...) so we couldn't cool our room properly.
We liked the large room & bathroom with tub. Nice window opening to a view of a quiet enclosed patio.
The television was difficult to work. We had to go down to the lobby to acquire a new user name & password every day in order to use wifi. Unfortunately, the air conditioner wouldn't work & the refrigerator didn't keep things cold.
No problem with all , great location, good value, staff wonderful
It's a good location and an easy walk to the tourist areas. Lots of nearby bars. Free motorcycle parking outside the front door.
Breakfast was cold. STAFF SMOKING IN THE ROOM NEXT TO BREAKFAST ROOM WITH OPEN ADJOINING DOOR. Staff unavailable to look after brrakfasters as they were smoking. One lift broke down trapping people inside...no Final Destination ending though.
Room size was excellent
Decor was a little "tired"
A location in the center of Sevilla was great, as well as room standard. Quite close to old city and bus station.
Our window was out for the street where school is, so it was a wee bit noisy in the morning.
The smell Very slow WIFI Very old hotel
Location is good, close to the old city. We walked everywhere. On the whole, the hotel is ok.
It badly needs updating. It is clean, but the rooms look old.
One of the clients complained about wifi connection but the front desk staff told him that he paid for the accommodation not wifi. Nothing is free. Somehow the price is included such facilities. In fact, hotel staff could tell the clients in many other ways such as they will find and fix the problem, etc. By the way, we stayed for two nights but no wifi available in the room AT ALL.
Poor experience with the receptionist.. no respect and most careless
spacious room, helpful staff, clean, good location. For the age of the building things were in good condition, getting dated and will need to be redone soon.
Location both train station and main tourist area in easy walking distance staff helpful clean room
Location and value for money. Breakfast good.
Staff impersonal .
- it was realtively close to city centre - we had a parking space in the hotel's underground parking which however does not offer space for many cars, so be prepared not to get one -hotel is in very 70s style but clean and comfy - staff was good in English
-I would not pay again 90 Euros for it, however, around 50 Euros would be ok
Location was good and the surrounds pleasant and convenient. Food in the restaurant was good.
Reception staff were extremely off-hand and unhelpful. They seemed to make no effort to work out what this non-Spanish-speaking traveller was trying to work out. WiFi reception was terrible - would work only intermittently, and when it did was painfully slow. I heard at least two other parties express the same opinions. The hotel experience there was the only negative one in an otherwise beautiful and interesting city. I can't understand how Gran Hotel Lar was given a four star rating.
Great, well trained staff.
Very weak wifi signal.
A very clean hotel and perfect for our needs. Restaurants nearby in addition to one at the hotel and not far to walk into the city centre. Added advantage of enclosed parking for a fee. Staff knowledgeable and very helpful.
Very bad internet
