Beautiful hotel in a fabulous setting.
The internet connection in Room 15 was not good, but we moved to room 31 after one night and there was no problem there.
How the manager tried to solve the problem and that he invited us to eat and drink for it
the mistake which happened at the beginning of our stay et the restaurant
Location peaceful. Beautiful views. Quiet and serene, very few children. Staff service very attentive but not too 'over the top'. Dinner was delicious. Piano bar was fun and had good atmosphere. Breakfast buffet was good.
there is not much to fault at all, the only small point would be to suggest thinner slices of smoked salmon on the breakfast buffet!
As a regular swimmer it was wonderful to find such a beautiful pool quite the best hotel pool I have ever seen. The whole setting of the hotel was exquisite
the hotel service for food and beverages was poor if not chaotic lack of service staff very apparent. Not what you would expect at a hotel of this standard and rating. We were told that the reason for this issue being the food and beverage manager had left the previous week and not re placed. This was clearly apparent but lack of staff in all areas asked for two extra towels as bath/shower constantly flooded due to no seal on shower screen water on marble floor dangerous very slippy no towels ever arrived had to mop the floor with our towels. We were offers two complimentary drinks for the inconvenience. Very poor.
It was so relaxing and peaceful, the staff were excellant, food was very good, Hotel is charming, clean comfortable with so many wonderful features, a wonderful place to stay.
The pool, the rooms, the food, the staff, the view. All excellent.
Loved it. If looking for a perfect "getaway" type place, this is it. Is in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, is peaceful and luxurious. Incredibly relaxing atmosphere. The hotel itself is extremely well kept, with immaculate food at their restaurant. Service is wonderful. Will definitely be returning here. If you go here though, recommend renting a car, as the hotel is "off the beaten path".
Private pool and hot tub Comfortable bed Beautiful gardens and pool Attentive staff
Expected Michelin quality food and restaurant service but was disappointed Lifeless bar 15 minute hike back up from the village!
Warm welcome. Friendly staff. Lovely food. Comfortable . Beautiful views Enjoyed every minute
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
my room was lovely and spacious with beautiful views, great to have windows open at night in january, beautifully quiet and peaceful location. Friendly staff. A hotel with class and character where comfort was key without being stuffy. Open fire was lovely. A really extraordinary historical building with beautiful vaulted ceilings and lovely grounds
Not a lot to dislike. The food was uneven - never bad but I just think the chef's ambitions are really in the right direction and need to be executed more consistently. Perfectly cooked fish was let down by a cold sauce - a deliberate choice but not a good idea in my or my friends view. Greatness is within the kitchen's grasp - they just need to go that last bit further. Would love the pool to be heated in winter ! Lastly - the lighting overall is really good but one of the best spaces - with it's huge open fire is let down by dreary cold fluorescent style lighting - it could be so cosy - as much of the rest of the hotel already is.
The location overlooking the valley is beautiful. Wonderful old building with all amenities of modern luxury. Big pool. Great breakfast, excellent restaurant, okay wine list.
It is not the perfect place to travel with young children in cold season, when the pools are closed and there is not much offered for children on the premises. In warm season it should be great, though.
