Dream Hotel Gran Tacande & Spa    

From the champagne welcome on our arrival all the staff were smiling and friendly. The room was palatial with a large balcony views of the sea and the mountains.Cleaning was everyday and excellent standard. The restaurant was excellent,broad range of foods.Andres our waiter was wonderful a Five star treatment. Entertainment was excellent most nights.The pools were clean and easily accessible. Underground car park great security factor! Had a great 70th Birthday here, fabulous.

The rolls at dinner were too hard! JOKE Loved it all

Location. Right next to a all and 2 mins talk o the beach from the pool side. Staff is extremely friendly. Spacious room and wash rooms. Was clean and most of all the food was scrumptious.

There were no English channels on tv except news channels.

One couldn't really fault this hotel in any way.....rooms, food, staff, spa, all to a very high standard. Both breakfast & dinner eaten outside on large adequately lit and heated terrace. At least 12 choices of main course every night, with plentiful starters, deserts & cheese. Rather unusually, they would happily serve coffee at your table after dinner. A very welcome plus for us! Will almost certainly return.

Only gripe would be that the reservation of sun loungers was not actively deterred by hotel

Huge hotel,don't be fooled by the name romantic and dreamhotel. It's mass tourism location for the all-inclusive,half-board tourists from travel agencies like Tui and similar. Definitely not first class. Breakfast room was a size of a soccer field,till you are done with the buffet,you have already done a pretty good exercise.No kidding. We had a suite in casa fuerte,but the the room looked very old ( I was surprised that this hotel was opened in 2002). The wallpaper was loose at some parts of the room, was very moist and we had a lovely visitor ( a cockroach 5-7 cm long). I was happy that we only booked 5 nights and any longer. We won't stay there again.

Food was excellent. Breakfast and evening buffets.

Layout of hotel unclear and difficult to navigate. Pool too cold. Pool towels.could improve system to locate loungers not being used. Provide towels earlier in day. Too many people reserving loungers and not using them....

We like this hotel for family vacation: very nice location, good facilities, nice dimming pool area, lovely spa. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Service is great! Lovely selection of food on half-board set up. Kids feel comfortable and secure. Very lose to the beach and nice walking and shopping areas.

Not a big problem, but would prefer to have some entertainment English channels on TV (currently only news in English). Also, a la carte restaurant has very very limited menu, we preferred the usual buffet.

The rooms are a good size ,and the location is very good , the dining room is a good size , with lots of seating, the staff are very friendly and look like they like working their .

No record of my booking by Booking . Com , this was put right at main desk , but took some time and was a bit touch and go as hotel was full.

Friendliness of staff. Sunny balcony and view. Mattresses for sun beds. Parking.

Large, stark,, bare public areas - could do with softening - interior design. No outside comfortable seating and bar to watch the sun go down - maybe use near the chess area.

The hotel was wonderful. The h/b was buffet which put us off at first but upon our first visit we found the selection was jaw dropping and the quality was first class. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful or friendly. We spend most of the time around the pool but ventured for the short walk to playa del duque which is lined with glorious restaurants for lunchtime snacks with views to die for. Woukd thouroughly recommend.

Very quite and relaxing in most areas. Very happy smiling staff always ready to help. Excellent shower facilities.

On our first night at the hotel we had to give back our plate of food as the chicken legs we chose were bloody near the bone! Most of the meat we tried for the rest of our stay was quite tough with the exception of meat from the chinese counter. Having said that there was plenty of food to choose from so we tended to stay away from meat or left it when no good. Cold plates for hot food!! Only hot 1 day out of 7! Didn't like the fact that we couldn't lock our balcony door! Didn't like the pillow on the bed - too hard.I Could have asked for another but managed.

5* start service.... Staff : overall extremely friendly. Each day again they welcomed you with a spontaneous hello, how are you today... It looked like this was the first hotel in Tenerife (and I've visited many of them), where it seems that the staff likes working there. Lot of them "speak" multiple languages... Room : very spacious (45 m²) whereas usual hotel rooms are around 25 m². Bathroom with separate bath tub, separate toilet and walk-in shower. Flatscreen tv with +/- 100 channels, outdoor furniture of decent quality (not plastic). Excellent Wifi onnection which is new.. Safe and Fridge are available in the room and free of charge. Restaurant : good food, large variety. As for each hotel, wouldn't be eating it 2 weeks in a row, but they offer fresh sushi, oriental cuisine, lot of live cooking... Tastful and good. And the staff again is friendly, asking at multiple occassions if the food is ok, if you're ok etc...

Point for improvement are the bed and pillows (long, thin pillows), not my style, but that's something that differs from person to person I guess
