Construction right in the hotel pool area (there's a shopping center being renovated underneath, and the drills are shaking the whole area, not even speaking of deafening noise...). But the beach is perfect, so if you're not a full day at the pool person all should be fine.
Interesting enough, the reception contacted me few days before the arrival asking if we have any needs, maybe celebrating some event etc... Was a lovely touch! Though created some high expectations which were not met afterwards... They had a clear opportunity to mention the construction was underway - but apparently they didn't want to take the risk, and even asked us to pay on arrival...
Moreover, on the special event I didn't have any expectations before - but as they asked I had to admit that yes, we're celebrating something very special...and got the expectation to get at least a mention of that or some little treat... Nothing. On departure we asked if we can have a bit of late check out. This was a clear opportunity to offer us a special attitude which would compensate for all the inconvenience and demonstrate goodwill... but of course not. No money no honey. And not even an ask of how did we like our stay, etc... you won't pay for late check out? ok, goodbye, have a nice day. Each of those details are not major trouble for us, didn't spoil our holiday or anything - just this is not an attitude that will create a returning customer.
Best location, good value for money mix: it's cheaper than other top 5* hotels around, and there's a reason for it but it's still a very decent hotel.
Large rooms (though already getting dated), everything spotlessly clean, restaurant personnel is beyond any standards (especially Nino and Ruben, but all were great), cleaning personnel is perfect too.
