Great location, friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms and secure left luggage for late departures. If you arrive at Pl. Catalunya on the Aerobus, it's literally a 2 minute walk along Ronda Sant Pere so no need for rip off taxis or having to drag luggage around seedy streets at night. Staff are very nice and will help with any queries you have about Barcelona which is good for anyone new to the city. Unfortunately, that's about as far as the advantages of staying in Gran Ducat go. There is WiFi in the hotel but for some reason you have to get the password from reception. I've travelled a lot over the years and would be well used to staying in all classes of accommodation, from youth hostels to 4/5 star hotels so I'm certainly not that fussy. As I'm a fairly heavy sleeper and usually stay out late at nights, I thought the reports of noise wouldn't be an issue for me. Wrong! From my room on the 3rd floor I could hear every single bit of noise from the corridors, rooms beside me, above me and below me. I'm talking ordinary noise here, just people moving around, closing doors, talking normally, mobile phones ringing etc. - not party people, ignorant guests or anything, just regular goings on. As for the metro? From early morning, every few minutes the pipes in my bathroom and inside the walls would rattle from the vibrations. It felt like a minor earthquake as someone already mentioned. I reckon I only managed about 4 hours sleep each night I was here so was a bit shattered doing my sightseeing. The double room I booked was about as basic as I've been in and looked absolutely nothing like the pictures on the site, although it was spotlessly clean. It was so small I think I'd have had to move if I wasn't alone. I'm not sure 2 suitcases would actually fit anyway as there was nowhere to store them. No table, and only room for one bedside locker. What furniture was there, was that cheap "flatpack" style - functional but ugly. Also, the shower was cracked and had so little power that I relied on gravity rather than water pressure to get wet. All in all, I'm not sure how this hotel has 3 stars. Maybe I was unlucky with my room but for me it was more a glorified Hostal and if I'd been staying any longer in Barcelona, I'd definitely have moved. For this kind of money, there's certainly much better value to be had in Barcelona.

Only location. Horrible... Maximum for this hotel 1 star just for good location. Rooms are small, furniture is older than my granny have, very noisy, thin walls, feeling metro trains passing on the lower level, breakfast is poor (at 10 o'clock nobody will ask if you finished or not, they cleaning the restoran), 3 tv channels working, disaster smell of chlorine in each floor, no minibar. For all of this 140 eur per day... Escaped from here after the first night.

Location and stuff behavior was excellent. The breakfast was also really nice. As it is very central there was noise from the busy street. There was also noise/rattling from the metro every few minutes throughout the day. The room we were given was very small.

The location is good. The hotel Grand Ducat is way too expensive compare other hotels even the breakfast is terrible, just 1 minute walk you get much better breakfast for half price ! Rooms are a bit small. Im not recommending it, unless the price would be 30% less, than it would worth it money.

Friendly receptionist( esp.the lady), old style building, closeness to Placa De Catalanya, very close to cafe, restaurants, bus stop,Metro, cleanliness. It was a good hotel for three star rating. The dining room staff ( Waiters/waitress) should learn how to smile and should look friendly. There should be more varieties of food for the breakfast ( i.e boiled egg, Banana, apple etc ).Most of the items were sweet snacks.

Fabulous location relative to tourist sites and restaurants!! Make sure you take the airport to city center bus for 5 EURO/person (much better than a Taxi) - it drops you off about a 3 minute walk from the hotel.

A great budget hotel in a exellent location, near place Cathalunya. Breakfast is fair, the staff is helpfull. The only downside - some of the double rooms are very small. We took a double room and swicthed to a bigger one upon our arrivel (with no extra cost). To sum it up - great value for your money. Location, location, location.

General cleanliness and proximity to city centre. One early call was not delivered and with respect to ourselves we REALLY anticipated sharing a double bed. The twin beds pushed together were basically a disaster, bearing in mind, we were on our HONEYMOON !! Otherwise all facilities were first class.

locaton Customers manner of the staff are not good. They are no smile when check-in, and out. Water seemed to be put near the front, but is always empty. A glass and cups were always scattered. The door of the porch side was not able to be locked, and there was not the key to security BOX, I was unusable.
