Perfectly located in front of the Prado Museum and just a few metres away from the Thyssen Museum and the Botanic Gardens (the most touristic and cultural city area). Themed hotel about the Spanish writer Lope de Vega and the XVII century. The hotel has modern and comfortable rooms and 2 junior suites. This hotel which has been inaugurated at the end of the year 2000, invites you to enjoy from its quiet and cosy atmosphere, not only at the room, but also at the Library or the rest of the common area.
All clients will be provided with a free copy of the Hotel´s Themed book which contains all the information in English and Spanish and can be read at the lobby, the different floors, the corridors or the rooms.

very small lobby, no restaurant except for breakfast bar. hotel is not a four star hotel by european standards.

Courteous helpful staff who spoke English. Breakfast included. Fantastic location. Free apples in reception area

Even with earplugs impossible to sleep - noise from hall and ALL the surrounding rooms kept me awake.

Location, size, style

Room was small - more like a 3 star (rather than 4 star) quality hotel.
However the location is superb.

Convenient location to all the museums. Easy to walk to anywhere we needed to go - close to restaurants, city bus tour, etc.

We would have liked for breakfast to have started earlier than 7:30 am. Especially would have liked to have coffee available early.

Nice room, staff very helpful, great location near major museums and restaurants.

They still allow smoking in the lobby and rooms. We requested a no smoking room. They had rooms expressly designated as no smoking and you could tell that someone had previously smoked in our room. Spain in general as a problem with smoking in bars, restaurants and other public areas.

Breakfast was very nice, although it would have been expensive if it hadn't been included in the price of our stay.

Although we were staying in a non smoking room, you could often smell smoke coming from the corridor and in the corridor. You could also hear noise from the floors above.

Ideal location close to centre and Prado museum. Area around hotel very quaint and nice and felt safe walking there at night. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good selection of breakfast and was served up to 11.30am so could relax in morning.

There was some noise from the room next door - could hear conversations, footsteps etc. Had to wear earplugs at night. Think walls between rooms especially thin. No soap supplied in bathroom though there was other toiletries but would not usually think to bring own soap when travelling.
