H10 Montcada  

Rooms were spotlesslt clean and tidy if a little small. Did not have breakfast as there was a great little place called Nostrum turning right out of hotel about 50 yds up the street on left hand side. If you are looking for good places for dinner - turn left out of hotel and about 20 yds on left h s there is a steet called Argentina - go right down to the Santa Maria church - some great places around there! Great hotel to use as a base and the rooftop bar is nice place to unwind with a pre dinner drink!

This was an absolutely superb location. You could walk to the ports and were right in the middle of the Gothic Quarter, a stone's throw from the history museum and the Cathedral. We even walked to the Eixample to Sagrada Familia and Gaudi's other apartment buidlings. Restaurant "Cheese Me" just around the corner had a great set menu.

The Sound of the Metro

I enjoyed my stay at H10 Montcada. The bed was very comfortable and my room offered a great view of the Barcelona skyline. The location is perfect for visiting all the main sights of the city. The beach is also an easy walk from the hotel.

The walls in the room needed some fresh paint.

The location in respect to many of the cities attractions, and the ease of moving around the city

It has a superior location in the old city of Barcelona, walking distance to santa Maria Church and opposite to Barcelona Gaudi Church. The rooms are very convenient and clean, relatively big with good furnitures. The roof provides a grand panaroma view of the entire Barcelona, it is fantastic!

Lokation. Breakfast. Staff.

The proximity to the Gothic area, water and shopping was ideal. Staff was very helpful especially as I was traveling alone with my one year old.

Greeted with a glass of fizz. Rooftob hot tub. Rooms clean, well equipped. Staff friendly.

Beds slightly small.

Poor Bar and Bar Service

Well the Hotel is good ! Staff is very friendly, but internet is zero, if you need internet for business, you will lose money as I did !! otherwise Hotel is good..

The staff was attentive to our request of all 3 rooms being on the same floor and on the top floor. We all really liked the rooftop terrace as you could view the city of Barcelona and relax. The hotel lobby was very clean and pleasant and the bar was open when we returned from sightseeing for drinks and an opportunity to regroup. The front desk staff was always helpful with sightseeing tips and restaurant suggestions.

I think due to location, h10 should have a staff member protecting the front door for hotel guests, especially on New Years Eve and New Years Morning. It seemed that there was not much security when we were leaving the hotel on the morning of New Years Day, as there were loud drunks in lobby. I would recommend this hotel to other adult travellers. I do not think it is a good location for a family with younger children. Jacuzzi should be available for hotel guest use in the evenings, even if there was an hour fee. This is when we were tired and wanted to relax. Not between 10 and 1.

The warm welcome upon arrival plus a festive glass of champagne! The room (which I had aked for in advance ) was excellent, with views from three windows ; to the small harbour, the sea beyond-a little- the mountains and roofs of the many lovely old churches etc. In addition, everthing we needed was in walking distance. I appreciated the help the reception staff gave in finding two very good restaurants: One 5 mins,from the hotel which was xcellent, the other was very good but needed an expensive taxi ride. My daughter and I found the staff very helpful and cheerful at all times. We would be happy to return to the Montcada again.

The wonderful, (large ) T.V. only worked on Spanish/Catalan or German chanels so we missed our English xmas programs which we were looking forward to viewing. Otherwise we were very happy with our room.
