Very good,
Score from 431 reviews
Considered as part of Barcelona’s cultural heritage in itself, this historic hotel dates from the 19th century and is situated in the city’s ancient Gothic Quarter. The setting of the H10 Raco del Pi makes it ideal for exploring the narrow streets of the most atmospheric area of the city – the Gothic Quarter. Here you will find the Cathedral along with a wide range of shops, galleries and restaurants. Only 100 metres away is the vibrant Las Ramblas, and 300 metres away is the central Plaça Catalunya. On arrival you will be greeted with a glass of cava, before continuing into the charming and traditional inner courtyard. The historic building has been brought up to date with features such as a glass-walled atrium and cooling parquet floors in each room. Hotel Rooms: 37, Hotel Chain: H10 Hotels. Most recent booking for this hotel was yesterday at 11:27 from Denmark.

The hotel is well located and snug. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet, except for rare cases where someone talked in the lobby (rare because there were only three other room doors which gave upon our lobby) and had air-conditioning control. We liked breakfasts and we even got some cava for each breakfast. A bar with free biscuits, tea and coffee was available when we came back to the hotel in the afternoon to have a break and take a shower. The free wireless Internet worked all days (only except for two or three hours on our last day). A printer (and a pc of course) was available on the ground floor so we could not only check in our flights but print out our boarding passes. If we come to Barcelona again without our child as we did this time, we’ll choose this hotel. Just some minor comments. Though we had asked for a double-bed room, we got twin beds which sprawled constantly. We got only one new toothbrush each day (mine uses to get ruffled the next day). And bring a bottle opener with you if you need it. The room's safe is not included in the price (though that made our price only some 2 per cent higher).

Evelina efficiently managed our requests. All staff were very helpful & aimed to please. The daily cava and salty snacks was a treat. The coffee & tea available in the afternoon was timely. The breakfast at * euro was more than adequate & well done. Complimentary internet access was appreciated. The room was clean & well attended. The off-Rambla location was perfect for seeing the sights of the city. Two twin beds were pushed together for a "king" & did not function as such. The firmness of the mattress-a bit hard.

The location is excellent for the 'Gothic Quarter' - just 5 minutes walk from the Plaza de Catalunya, surrounded by cafes and restaurants and interesting shops. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms not over-luxurious but very clean.

The hotel was very friendly and in a superb location. The rooms and bathrooms were very nice and very clean. We could walk to so many of the Barcelona sights and to the sea from here. Even though we were right in the middle of things it was very quiet at night.

Clean, nice staff, secure even during the general strike, tasty breakfast. Very well located, at least for the activities we looked for (concerts, shopping, eating, sightseeing).

Friendliness of staff`; good location in the atmospheric Gothic Quarter and a welcome drink on arrival. Coffee/tea made available free of charge in the afternoon a nice touch, although we did not avail ourselves of this as we were too busy sight-seeing! The taxi from the airport did not take us directly to the hotel as it was in a pedestrianised area, but the receptionist at the hotel managed to get us a taxi which came directly to the hotel, which was helpful and actually cost us less in fares. Pillows were a bit uncomfortable

The hotel itself is very well located and of a very high standard for a 3 star hotel. The staff were some of the most helpful and friendly we have ever meet. We may have stayed for only 3 nights but the air conditioning was not in use at night, which made the room feel like an oven and the window did not open so you could not even get some air flow through the room.

Excellent location in the Gothic Quarter. A very short walk from Placa de Catalunya and the stop for the airport bus, Barcelona Cathedral and Las Ramblas. Many restaurants and cafes nearby. The room I was eventually given was comfortable, but small. Staff were friendly and helpful. I hadn't booked breakfast due to comments from previous guests who considered it over-priced. On checking in I was told there was a special offer and breakfast was half price at 8 Euros which was reasonable price for what was a standard continental breakfast with some cooked food (scrambled or fried eggs and on the second morning bacon). A slight niggle, but perhaps it was an error on the part of the reception staff. Although travelling alone I always prefer, whether travelling for businesess or leisure, to book a double room for single occupancy. My room wasn't ready when I checked in at 2pm and I was told it would be available at 4pm. When I returned I was allocated what appeared to me to be a single room. I understand that the hotel calls these small doubles. The room was tiny, hot and stuffy and next to the lift. These rooms are not double rooms and are not suitable for more than one person. Fortunately I had printed off the page from the booking.com site with the prices charged for each type of room and when I asked to change rooms this was arranged immediately by the receptionist. Nevertheless this is not a good impression on arrival at any hotel.
