On a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the Hotel Best Semiramis is in Puerto de la Cruz. It features rooms with balconies, a spa and 2 outdoor swimming pools surrounded by gardens.
Score from 288 reviews Good
This lovely hotel is located on the Martiánez Lakes, with stunning views of Teide mountain. It offers free Wi-Fi in public areas.
Score from 340 reviews Very good
All very good except for the entertainment which still is in the 20th century
Good location along the beach. Nice pool area. Clean. Amazing breakfast buffet. In comparison, godd value for the price.
An air of institution. Mostly old people staying at the hotel. No real character to the hotel.
the staff is very friendly, professional and helpful; recommendations for restaurants, printing documents at the front desk, keeping my luggage after checkout
my bed was terrible, but it was changed immediately upon request after the first night, no questions asked :) the wifi is not so good in the rooms, but very fast in the lounge on the second floor. As
Location, hotel staffs
The friendly and very helpful staff, the attractive pools, the impressive breakfast buffet
Aircon in room did not work, Wifi did not work - even in public areas, no parking facilities, room and building rather tired
Restaurant was excellent with fantastic choice of food and while self service, the floor staff and serving team were excellent. The range of free entertainments and activities during the day and evening were great with some really good quality evening shows. The bar was reasonably priced and always had a great atmosphere. Nice touches like cava being available on reception all evening for those checking in although the odd glass for those passing by on there way out was also welcome! Also, as much free cava and vodka as you wanted with your breakfast - great for a bloody mary to start the day. Our room on the 9th floor on the front of the hotel had a fantastic view over the lagoon. The location was excellent. Lovely pool area.
The biggest frustration was the lack of parking. This meant that the first night on arrival with out hire car was awkward as we weren't aware of the parking difficulties in the town and there was no where to stop legally near the hotel to walk to the hotel entrance or unload bags. Once we had worked out what was going on with parking, we chose not to pay the £70 odd pounds for local underground parking but parked on the streets up up the road through the tunnel which was either a real hassle or inconvenient respectively. The rooms were comfortable and sufficient but just felt a little less classy than some parts of the hotel e.g. old tvs instead of flat screens. The reception staff were generally good, the guys and one of the ladies in particular very friendly, but in the evening there were too few on to be able to provide good service. Small frustrations - you couldn't borrow on iron but had to request items to be ironed during the day instead at a charge. The fridge in the room was locked so you couldn't use it unless you were on a particular package.
Good location: 10 minutes walk to good restaurants in the old centre of the town. Nearby shops, beach, highway.
Very noisy in the morning: they were working (renovating?) in the hotel without warning. The walls, doors and windows were very thin. The cleaning ladies were talking very loud early in the morning. No wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. This not very 2014... Hotel is not very beautiful, but we know that's subjective... Kind of old fashioned, not modern.
amazing location, jungle feeling 200 meters from the city center, the beach and the fabulous logo martianez premises.
somewhat old fashioned design,
I honestly can not give a positive response. We stayed 1 night and i can asure you i would never stay more than 1.
Outdated hotel, nursing home, the area is like Eastbourne. nm good for children. Not for the middle class of all ages. Reminds me of 1970 package holiday the area with bed bugs. Honestly please don't go.
Staff for very friendly, very efficient!
Stayed in room 403 - extremely loud all night and day (next to ventilators? generatos?) Last rooms on floor should not be used any more!
Our room was very hot. We had restless sleep most nights. Did not like the pool situation having trouble getting sunbeds on a daily basis. The drinks at the bar were poor value. Small measures and expensive. We were staying on a B&B basis and thought there was a huge difference between the service given to fully inclusive and saga customers. We have stayed at other H10 hotels and have never had any reason to complain.
I found the front desk staff very poor when it came to asking directions or queries in general. They didn't seem to think it was part of their job, lapsed into Spanish at every occasion, maybe their English wasn't up to required standard.
The location was first class. I could get to the beach and was surrounded by lots of different types of bars and restaurants. The hotel bar was comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. My room was very good and the bed was huge!
The food in the restaurant was particularly unimpressive but adequate. Didn't return for dinner after first visit. I would expect a little better from a hotel of this quality. Buffet food should be for the lesser quality hotel.
We had a view of the ocean from our balcony which was probably the best part of our stay. The food for breakfast and dinner is also pretty good, but they do nickel and dime you for some things like any drink for dinner. The staff were nice and were helpful when we asked about transportation and other things of that nature.
The clientèle is mainly older people and families with young kids and the overall atmosphere is kind of old-school touristy. We thought this wouldn't matter too much because we usually don't go in for crazy party holidays like some young couples do, but it was a bit stifling at times. The pool area is nice, but we ended up going to Playa del Jardin most of the week because we got to interact with more than just tourists in a more interesting environment. The room was a bit small and the bed was pretty hard.
The location was bad. You would not find an appropiate beach near the hotel. In front of the hotel you will find Martianez beach, but is full of rocks. Definitely, I would not recommend.
The location of the hotel couldn't be any better , staff friendly & helpful . Food , there was always something for everyone's taste . All in all a good trip .
There is no car parking facility.
The food was excellent, in both quality and choice. Room was very clean and well presented by housekeeping staff. Evening entertainment was also very good.
Greeting on arrival was disgraceful as were advised there was no booking in our name, and when mistake realised no apology was made. Dining room organisation was poor. Hotel in areas very shabby, and in some very dirty. Garden area extremely overgrown and in urgent need of attention. Gardener was then seen lopping large branches off of trees with no consideration for guests and safety. The pool area in the mornings remained filthy as had not been cleaned from the previous days use, with dirty glasses and cigarette ends.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff, with reasonably priced drinks and food. The kids appreciated the basketball court and table-tennis table, along with the arranged sporting events. We liked the plants and general landscaping around the hotel, all adding up to an enjoyable 5 day break.
Great penthouse room, good views.
Beach heavy waves, big rocks cut up ankles in surf. No parking (2 blocks away in mall parking at discounted rate). Staff real pushy when waiting on certain documents.
The location is excellent, food excellent, plenty of sun beds, the housekeeping staff very friendly, reception staff friendly, one lady in particular spoke excellent English and was very helpful when we needed to see a doctor.
Most of the waiters didn't smile and were not very friendly. Also it would be preferable if guests chose their own table. Quite often window tables were reserved by having either wine or fruit/ juice on the table when clearly no one was using them yet
WIFI was poor in rooms, connection was not possible
Construction work taking place on a wing on 4th floor, sending dust towards pool area along with the use of power tools all day, ruined our holiday. Staff denied it was in the same hotel so we took photos. Terrible behaviour from a large chain of hotels. Room dated, fridge cost 5.90 euro, safe was 35 euro. More expensive than anywhere else. Breakfast tasteless, staff unhelpful.
Cannot fault this hotel. From the reception on arrival, to the rooms, to the restaurant and bar. All excellent. The animation was amazing, plenty to do all day or just relax. All the staff truly wonderful especially Miranda,
Quality of food the sports activities the entertainment the cleanliness the pool area
the roof terrace
The location was excellent, next to all facilities.
The room allocated was very noisy as it was next to the hotels air con unit. The room was tired and dated. Did not feel like a four star hotel room. No view as a huge tree covered our balcony.
