The pool was nice, very deep! Constantly getting told off by the locals for the smallest things.
Where do I even start? The whole holiday was a nightmare from start to finish, nothing went smoothly. We went for the fib festival and booked an apartment with booking.com for a good price for 6 people. I messaged the company saying I wouldn't be checking in until around 2am which they said was fine, but would be an extra 60 euros??? For what? When we finally go to the area by a taxi we tried to find the office to check in which wasn't open, there was actually 2 different check in addresses on my booking confirmation so we went to the other one. Also closed. We asked around the locals and they pointed us to the Gran Duque hotel to check in. So we made our way over there to find out the apartment wasn't even anything to do with the whole Marina D'or franchise and that the man behind the desk refused to help us. It was 330am and we were effectively homeless. We waited in the lobby, was going to wait till 10am when the office opened, and I randomly got a whatsapp message from an unknown number saying he was waiting for us at Benicassim train station. 1. i never ever mentioned anything about getting a train 2. i never ever got told we were getting picked up. the guy picked us up took us to the apartment and we got settled in, it was now 5AM The next day we went to check in and they demanded a 150 euro deposit and a 80 euro late check in fee?? That suddenly jumped up from 60! They also tried charging me 60 euros for towels and sheets? which i point blank refused. Only one person spoke english and very little at that so was very hard to communicate with them, they were laughing at us when we complained about the service. We eventually checked in and that was all sorted. The shutter on an outside door wasn't shutting properly so we reported it and a guy came round within a few hours to fix it, which was very good.
Apartment was clean, pool was nice everything was within walking distance
Staff didn't speak English, we were not aware a €300 deposit would be required on arrival, hot water was limited.

Checkout at 10am was actually 10:30 - whereupon agent left office and drove back to apartment to check its condition- not great when you have deadlines regarding travel plans!!!
Having a washing machine was good thing. Sheets and towels were arranged without a problem.
Lack of a dryer - since it was still cold and humid, drying the clothes took a while. Room(s) were still at this time year cold and humid. Kind of chilling environment in May, possibly better in June. Pool was closed and it was not mentioned in advance -cool, yes, but I would have liked to have a dip.

too much people in the beach((( sand is not clean((( very very very very old furniture in the apartment
