This hotel has an excellent location.Just in front of the hotel there is Mercato - a place where local people buy fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood and fish. It's amazing with a lot of marvelous flavor in the air. Easy access to public transport - bus stops(the bus from airport stops almost in front of the hotel) plus 1 min. walk to TRAM station(you can catch up the tram L1 to Benidorm). Another good thing about this hotel that beach is just 10 min walk from it and in the way back you can pass next to nice restaurants, tapas bars or pubs (you need just to avoid main street and explore small side streets. You can also easily get from Eurostar Lucentum to Santa Barbara Castle as the steps that lead up there are just 3 min. walking distance. Lifts- hotel has eleven floors and you need to be very patient while waiting for it (their are very slow)

The hotel was excellent and not too far from the beach and the town of Alicante, which is very pleasant. The air conditioning worked well. As this is a big international business hotel, we thought it would be advisable for at least some of the staff to speak good English. There were guests of all nationalities staying there, but the Swedish, Dutch, etc, usually speak English and we heard some of them struggling to make themselves understood, as we did.

Fantastic location in Alicante. Close to shops, cafes, bars etc. Near to the castle and a short walk from beach. Exceptionally clean, comfortable hotel. Staff were great, especially recption staff. Excellent breakfasts that were given to us free of charge because of an initial problem with our room and facilities not being as advertised on the internet or on the information card in the room. Throughly enjoyed our stay though, despite hotel being geared for the business traveller not the tourist. We expected to have access to a coffee bar and restaurant everyday/evening however the restaurant was not open on Saturday and Sunday, this meant that on our arrival day (Saturday) we had to go out to eat when all we wanted to do was be lazy!! There was a bar/cafe area in the main hotel foyer, however because this wasn't open until 7pm on weekdays and closed at the weekend it made the hotel feel as though it was lacking in atmosphere. It also meant that you couldn't get a cup of coffee (there were no coffee making facilities in the rooms) while we were in the hotel.

We've just returned from a week's stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. A perfect spot for a sunny September break. .The Lucentum is a leisure and business hotel so don't expect sun loungers, swimming pools and organised trips but if a central location, great breakfasts and spacious, spotless, comfortable rooms are important then this is the place to go. The staff are simply charming. It's just 10 minutes from the sea where one can hire sunloungers, umbrellas etc Alicante's old town streets boast dozens of great little restaurants where one can eat outside. Thank goodness one can just enjoy the atmosphere and not be bombarded with disco music. Menus are mainly in Spanish ( it is Spain after all !) but often there is an English translation, photographs of foods or one can ask for an English menu. Most waiters speak a little English. A bus ride to Santa Pola market on a Saturday is worth the trip.

Good location in Alicante city with easy access to Tram station "Mercado". Also close to old town and Alicante Beach if you don´t want to take tram to San Juan beach which we did. 20-25 minutes to one of the best beaches in Costa Blanca if so. Breakfast was good with plenty to chose from. The room we had (standard double) was comfortable, clean, very comfortable bed to for a Spanish hotel. We never used the wifi so don´t know about quality. Instead we had a lan-cable and that worked really well in room. Not a 4 star hotel. Simply not that good. We have stayed in many 4 star hotels and this is not living up to that standard. Definitely a 3 star though. Tips for staff, management to live up to a 4 star standard: Add dressing rooms for males and females on top "gym/spa" floor. Always have a set of clean towels during opening hours of "gym/spa" Add at least one more treadmill and some more weights and machines to be able to call it a gym to start with. Never used bubble pool so don´t know how that was, but due to lack of dressing rooms in the area I saw and almost slipped in all the water from guests that used in and then went down to rooms with the lifts since they could not change up there. Not classy at all. The staff also need to be more attentive during breakfast and fill up with things without guests having to wait for spoons, juice etc. The coffee machine was the worst experience ever though. Up grade to a better one and add one or two more while you are at it! Not 4 star quality to have one machine for all guests with queues as a result. Also the machine did not simply offer a "push the button of you your selection of coffee" but you had to do a lot of extra tricks to finally get what you wanted such as pushing a tiny "ok" on a small digital screen 3-4 times after you had done your first choice. Really confusing and not logically explained at all. Lifts took ages to come and then you had no control if it was a lift going up or down even if you pushed the correct button in the beginning. So, the minuses are all smaller things really, but things that make this hotel a good 3 star hotel, but they need to invest a lot more in gym/spa area, breakfast area and lifts, and staff attention to be able to call them selves a 4 star.

What I liked the most was my company. Very friendly staff. They let us change room when we added on a second night so that we could watch the parade from "primiera linia". Very greatful for that. The rooms were cold.

Very clean rooms. Good, varied and cheap breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff. Well run hotel. Room service is slow and only offered 4 days a week. It doesn't live up to the expectations you get from the room service menu in the room.

Great location: for walking – on corner of old town, within walking distance to beach and museums; for shopping – many shops around, three El Corte Ingles markets, old city market just on other street side. Many souvenir shops etc. all night life is also near (and we didn't hear noise overnight, so we slept well after). Many bars, clubs and restaurants, open long time, we went outside on 2 am and back on 4 – many places was still open. taxi's stop is near; within walking distance to train station (8–10 minutes). Breakfasts was rich and excellent by quality. Hotel have good by quality internet (good for me is when you could use skype without lags and when you don't need to wait long to load websites) From outside hotel looks like modern office center, we are found it looking on iphone's offline maps application and location :) Hotel really need to improve that, put more texts on building. There are sauna and air within hotel was... like in sauna, maybe just on those days. We had to open window, was so hot in the room Noisy street is near, to whom, who like to sleep longer it is trouble.

This is a very central hotel very good for shopping and restaurants. The beach is only ten minutes also. Hotel was nice but we only used it as a base and didnt use any facilities. Not a complaint isolated to this particular hotel but if you dont speak any Spanish the tv may as well not be in the room. Cnn and bbc World News on loop 24/7. No satellite chanels so take your laptop as least its free wi-fi

Perfect central location The possibility to obtain food by room service was a explicit prior condition for my reservation. It turned out there was none on the one occasion - a Friday afternoon - when I urgently needed it
