nice location, clean and good breakfast
bed and a bit small room, no slippers:-(
breakfast - lots of really healthy food of good quality
the bathroom door - no soundproofing in bathroom
Fantastic position near to the Guggenheim. Very quiet rooms with the best mattresses in Spain. What a change from an appalling hotel in Seville called Patio en Santa Cruz where we couldn't sleep a wink for the noise and saggy beds.
air conditioning didn't work and was not repaired after my request.
Location great for Guggenheim and old town. Good breakfast. Staff were helpful.
Room fine if a little functional. Very late check in.
We enjoyed this hotel. Medium size, nice welcome, lovely room and excellent bathroom overlooking the river.
Good to have superior room overlooking the river and city but the road was quite noisy with the window open.
After London, where the rooms were so tiny, this was fabulous. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient without being in the busy side of the river.
Only one thing would have been appreciated...a kettle to make a cup of tea or coffee in the room.
we found it relaxing in the sun box enjoy the quietness watching people walking their dogs!!
Nothing,good location good eating etc.
Location, Service, Food, Friedlliness of Staff.
The colored glassed in balcony windows were excellent: they give a fine view of the revier and open the room to light The Staff are most excellent!!!! We cannot say enough good abaout them!!!!
There was nothign we did not like!
Location , facilities , very enjoyable few days.
Location, Clean Convenient for looking around Bilbao
Received an upgrade to a junior suite, which was terrific and a very comfortable room with views over street and river
Restaurant menu was a bit limited and the main meal of fish not very nice
The room architecture was brilliant. I loved the spacious bathroom, the ambience of the room and the big bed.
The street was partly quiet noisy. If you have a color preference for the windows try to get a room whose windows have that color. We had blue windows, I would have liked yellow or red windows better. The parking with 18€ was not that reasonable but in Bilbao you don't have a big choice..
Modern clean hotel with nice and friendly staff, good service, great location and good value for money.
There had been a problem with the rooms we had booked but the staff were extremely helpful and without prompting proposed an excellent solution which worked well.
Slight confusion over the fact that there are two Hesperia hotels in the town. One is very close to the football stadium and so problematic to reach if there is a big game on. The Hesperian Bilbao is the one to go for!
The NH Hisperia is situated in a great location you can cross the bridge and go into the city or walk along the river to the old town. The staff on reception were courteous and helpful. The beds were and pillows were very comfortable.
Location, safety and easy of access
Limited communication about early breakfast subsequently found at reception
Great location easy walk to everything. Lovely big rooms, wash hand basin out of the shower toilet space worked very well. Restaurant served lovely food at a reasonable price
Location is very good, close to Guggenheim and old city. Rooms are nice, bathroom good size.
Bar and restaurant a bit impersonal.
Great location, clean, tidy. 10min stroll to Guggenheim.
Parking garage very tight! Also, not enough time from when you check out to leave the car park. We had to stop at the barrier and pay an extra 45c, running back to the machine! After 5 minutes it will charge you extra! Be quick.
We chose the Hesperia because it was roughly half way between the Guggenheim and the old town. As it turned out the old town was a bit of a disappointment but the footbridge near the hotel gives good access to the modern, commercial heart of the city. We had a river view junior suite which we would recommend, though the afternoon sun can fight the aircon and make it a little uncomfortable to sit behind glass in the balcony areas. All the public areas were modern and well-kept. We found all members of staff (with perhaps the exception of one or two at the bar) very helpful and friendly. We didn't eat at the hotel but found the bar offerings good and reasonably priced. All in all, one of the best four star hotels we've stayed in.
The aircon efficiency was patchy. Sometimes the room felt as if it had been heated. But on our last night it was positively frigid. The junior suite open design – no door between bathroom sinks and bedroom – fights the aircon system. It also allows noise from other rooms to filter into the bedroom chamber (our suite had a regular thickness adjoining door to another room so we could hear sneezing and coughing etc in the morning). We're not wifi crazy but the service is patchy. After two days my devices failed to get any signal at all in the room while my partner got a variable, sometimes slow, service. The signal in the lobby, bar etc is much better.
