Hotel beautifully situated (the last in a series of hotels) in close proximity to the charming port. Nice pools and nicely maintained green area around them. Reasonable size rooms, very clean. Tasty for breakfast, a very large selection of products. For people who like sports very good hotel (for example, accessible tennis courts, squash, fitness). In near silence, peace and beautiful views of the sea. Exaggerated price of dinner. Eating in restaurants in the nearby port is better and cheaper.

Good Points: looks good from outside, outdoor pools/relaxation area is very peaceful, excellent spa with many types of jacuzzi, good selection of breakfast for non vegetarians, Bad Points: staff di not speak much, if any, english. reception staff try to rip you off and seem as if they have different prices for different people for the same things, room walls are paper thin and everything can be heard from next door as well as the corridor, housekeeping do not do their job properly unless supervised (this is evident in the thick dust present in certain areas of the room), breakfast selection not good for vegetarians, spa has no changing rooms so everyone must change clothes in a unisex toilet (how weird?!).

The location; very peaceful compared to busier parts of Lanzarote. The room was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The occasional draining smell near the pools. Howvever it didn't last for long. The buffet in the evening was overpriced and not five star quality.

Layout/design/decor of the hotel, Buffet breakfast, Pool & spa facilities, relaxing atmosphere, Short distance to larger / busier towns, quiet location, friendly staff, balcony with nice view and sun, tour information, rental cars. Some slow food serving staff, 2 bars/restaurants only open at weekends, despite booking a double room, room was for 2 people sharing thus 2 beds but we are a couple and would've preferred 1 large bed.

It is a fine building. The building and facilities look to be very well maintained. the spa centre loks to be very good for example. The breakfast service is very good. It portrays itself as a 5 star hotel. This is dishonest - it was not a 5 star experience staying at this hotel The hotel staff are below standard expected for a hotel of this character. There is no concierge service whatsoever. The reception stafff were all young and inexperienced and inadequate to deal with the level of business atthe hotel. The hotel also lacks atmosphere - there is a very poor levelof entertainment. Wehave stayed at many 4 start hotels that were far superior to this hotel in terms of courtesy, atmosphere, quality. we will never return to this hotel and will not use hotels with this brand in future

We love its location, its space, the garden, the excellent breakfast on the terrace, and last but not least the friendly helpful staff from reception, clean ladies to restaurants! We had a lovely week at hotel Hesperia and we cannot wait to go back there. We booked the hotel last minute and we did not know what to except and we had such a pleasant surprise. We asked for upper floor and our demand was met. Our 3 year old daughter enjoyed mini club and we all have wonderful souvenirs. Thank you! Room service may be...but it was during Christmas time and they were all busy we assumed. It did not affect our stay at all.

beautiful room which was very good value for money Pool wasa freezing and could we didnt use it as it took your breath away. Too few staff to serve all the people staying. Yet another corporate customer who does not get the balance of staff to customers right. Would go back if the pool and service where sorted out.

Top quality accommodation, excellent breakfast buffet, friendly and efficient, staff. Great location with sea views, calm setting yet a close walk to the nearby port which had a good choice of restaurants. The pools were top quality, a good size and varied. Although we did not go with children, it was obvious that they were catered for very well will a good kids club. Having to decide to reserve the "non buffet" restaurants by 13:30 - it just meant we ate elsewhere. Also, the La Caleta restaurant did not look very enticing and, despite it's sea front location, did not seem to get the best from it.

I liked the breakfast very much. I also liked the spa, the swimming pools, the sunbeds in the swimming pool, most of the staff, the big rooms and the huge bed. I didnt like that there was no beach.we had to take a taxi to puerto del carmen which cost 12 euros to get to a beach with sand. I didnt like the fact that I asked for an iron for 3 days in a row and the girl in the reception started to get frustrated. They did get us an iron in the end but it was rented from an outside company and it cost us 12 euro/week + 10 euro deposit. The food and water were extremely expensive in the hotel but you can walk for 10 mins and get to the restaurants in the port. You can go to Papardella and get the best and cheap meals of your life.

The rooms were wonderful- although we stayed I'm a junior suite, the view was stunning and the ensuite with jacuzzi was such a treat. The breakfast was wonderful as was the pool bar and location, all staff were very friendly and kind always there to help and we had a wonderful 5 day break The only complaint would be that the service in the pool bar was very slow they really needed an extra staff member . We did not mind though as were so relaxed. Also the rooms were cleaned adequately but they never removed empty water bottles or cups which was unusual.

Location while good is quite isolated. Views are lovely, the lay out is nice also. Hotel staff very impersonal, not very welcoming or informative. As the hotel is away from any nearby shops or bars, they have a monopoly of overcharging for beers and food. The pools were freezing. We had cockroaches in our room.

To be near Puerto Calero it has good restaurants and the calm Is not a real five stars hotel. The pool was not being clean every day.The hotel stairs had during the all weekend some follen drops. The service at the lowest pool was excellent but only one guy to attend all, the bar, the pool and the security !

We both loved our stay at the Hesperia the hotel setting and grounds were amazing not to mention the luxury of the suite. The staff were exceptional especially Sunna who was extremely helpful. We had a relaxing break and would recommend this hotel to anyone with high standards in accommodation. We will definitely go back in the future. There is nothing at all I could fault about the hotel it was excellent

Nice rooms, nice view (the superior). Very good breakfast. Shows (music, circus ...) at the other reception area every night. One of the two rooms (the standard one) was smelling of smoke.

Our stay at this hotel was not as I expected. Our rooms looked out at a new block of villas /apartments being built right in front of our 'seaview,When we went to reception about this , they said that was the only aloining rooms they had. , also the size of the balcony was tiny, not at all what you would expect from a 5 star hotel . Staff were nowhere to be found, reception was undermanned. nobody to take your luggage to your rooms. We will not be going back to this hotel again.

Hotel was well worth the price. Rooms were lovely (very clean and well equiped) and staff very friendly. Breakfast was out of this world! (there was everything anyone could ask for). Everything was very well organized (we were there for Christmas), even Santa showed up with the gifts for the little ones. Marina with good few restaurants is only short walk from a hotel. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who is looking for nice and relaxing holidays. The only problem for me was that kids under 16 were not allowed into the spa. I was counting on the swimming pool in the spa since water in the pools outside was to cold for a two year old.

I liked my room a great deal and felt That the overall designer feeling of the interiors was well done The layout of the pools and sun terrace area was very good. I also particularly liked the spa facility, and enjoyed two very good massages. Although I did not eat in all of the restaurants, the general level of the food was pretty high.

This is a very luxurios hotel complex and what I liked about it was the comfort and rhe vast choice of food especially at breakfast, also the quality and quantity of food available in the pool bar and at the beach restaurant. There is a lack of soundproofing between the hotel rooms

“We (2 parents with 2 children aged 8 and 10) had a half-board, 1-bedroom apartment, end of February 2010 during 7 days. Bathroom is beautiful, kitchen corner well designed (but fridge is not noiseless). Rooms are spacious and very clean with nice but average furniture. The hotel overlooks the seaside with direct access to the sea (rocks you can swim from, or walk 10 minutes to reach the first beach). It also has a heated outside swimming pool. Buffet was very good (with lots of fruits and vegetable) and has a special corner for local Canarian cuisine. Animation for the children (playground in the morning), the adults (afternoon: learning Spanish, archery, bingo, ..) are well designed. Some of the show at 9pm (Flamenco, Tango) are top” Jean-luc, East Grinstead |
