The bells, the bells NEVER STOP ringing - day and night - on the quarter hour, half hour and on the hour, they really go to town. I found it impossible to sleep here - double glazing makes little difference. I was tempted to check out after the first night due to the bells. We always love Old Towns and always want to stay there but the location of this hotel right (beside the Cathedral and other Churches) is up very very steep hills, which we found very difficult to climb. You are not inclined to pop out and back several times a day - due to that climb up. We also didn't like that bars / restaurants , close by hotel all closed up around 11 pm.
However, we actually found that the new town is ' where the locals go ' and was much nicer in every way - not jammed and packed with tourists
Hotel is a very nicely restored medieval building, lots of designer touches and lovely bathroom.
Fridge in room is useful.
