The hotel was located right in the heart of Madrid! Easy access to everything! Despite being on a very popular street the room was extremely quiet! No street noise at all! The room was very comfortable, bed was great, and air conditioning!!The staff was wonderful! Especially the bellman Raoul! He met us at the cab the first day and took great care of us from then on! He was also full of knowledge of where we should go and how to get there. If I go back to Madrid, which I'm sure I will, I will definitely stay at the Preciados vip again!! Would love it if just coffee were available. There isn't coffee in the room so you have to have the breakfast buffet or room service for coffee. With room service you only get one cup of coffee. Luckily there is a great little place right around the corner. I would suggest a coffee maker in the room!

I originally booked this hotel because of all the great reviews I read about it on both Booking.com and Tripadvisor. As I travel quite often and use these sites frequently, I know it is very rare for almost everyone to have the same great comments on the the Preciados. The hotel staff were efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and able to give you any information or reference you would like. The hotel room was impeccably clean, and they come and check on the room a couple of times a clean to ensure your room is tidy and whether anything needs to be refilled. The location of the hotel is amazing as it is within walking to many restaurants and tourist sites!

Excellent, well-appointed rooms and bathrooms. Very friendly staff; excellent location in the heart of Madrid. Breakfast comes at an extra cost of around 17 euros per person, which seems rather excessive.

We had an excellent three day stay at Preciados vip. The hotel is extremely clean, the bathrooms are spacious, and the beds comfortable (on the firm side, but we slept well and I even have a bad back). We had two rooms on the fourth floor and one of them (twin beds) had a window on an air shaft, which would bother someone to whom that matters (so ask for a room on the other side of the hotel). The other room (double/queen bed) looked out on a street, but the noise insulation was good and the room was quiet. Breakfast was included in our rate and I recommend it - the daily buffet was extensive with lots of choices, making it easy for almost anyone to find something they like. If you don't want to pay for the breakfast, there are places nearby to grab a bite (including a Starbucks, if you are so inclined, which we weren't). The staff is very accommodating and helpful (and speak English), and the hotel is very well located in Madrid, making it easy to reach most sights on foot if you're willing to walk a bit. Overall, this place gets a very high recommendation from a very picky traveler! The only drawback is the lack of an exercise room. We like to exercise when traveling because it helps maintain our routine and makes us feel better. Also, the lobby computers were very slow and the printer didn't function, so we couldn't print our boarding passes before leaving. In my opinion, though, these are minor drawbacks to an otherwise very good hotel.

Great location, 5 - 10 minute walk from all the main attractions. I really liked the added extras, the Wi-fi was free as was the mini bar in the room. The room was always spotlessly clean and the staff were all very friendly. I also thought it was very reasonably priced. All in all a great stay.

Location was brilliant, if you are looking for a hotel in the heart of Madrid, right in amongst the shops. The rooms were very spacious for a European hotel, especially when you have two large suitcases. Very comfortable beds and cost bedding, with doonas. Had an electric blind on window which made the room very dark to sleep. No noise from outside or inside the hotel. Free minibar, which included soft drinks, beer and juice. The standard of breakfast was very average and service at breakfast poor. I really missed having a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities, which I had in Seville, Barcelona and Portugal.

My wife and I stayed only one night at the Preciados VIP during our stop-over from Barcelona to the United States. But based on this single experience, and the excellent help we received in confirming our flight for next morning, the fine breakfast brought to our room because we had to leave early, and the help getting a taxi, I would definitely stay there again. Very close to everything in terms of restaurants, historical sites, and art museums. Professional staff in every respect.

The hotel is in a very good location and easy to reach from the airport by the Metro. The service was very goos and all the staff had a smile for you even if they could not fully understnad what you were asking for. All problems were solved and they made sure to check they had done what you wanted. We were given a newly constructed room at the rear of the ground floor (701), it was very comfortable and well equiped. The room looked out onto a small internal lightwell which was not a great problem unless you had asked for a room with a view. The designers had placed a water feature in this lightwell which was right outside our bedrooom. This was not turned of on the first night and we were kept awake by the sound of running water outside our window (even with closed). We teold the management the next morning and it was turned off each night at 11pm after that. If you stay in this room make sure to remind them to turn it off.

Location; staff; sound proofing; breakfast buffet Exhaust in the toilet; Effectiveness of Air Conditioning. Reception staff could not guide us properly to conducted tour arrangements. Hotels atound the tourists area in the world make arrangements with the tour operators whereby the guests can book the tours directly at the hotel reception and the buses pick up the guests from the hotel at the appointed time. No such arrangement was found. Plus the satff could not guide us properly to such tours.

The location was brilliant, right next to Plaza Callao at the top end of Gran Via and within walking distance to all the sights. The hotel restaurant has an outside seating area on the street and it was lovely to sit out there and watch the world go by. All staff were so friendly and helpful, but the restaurant staff (the older waiters), in particular were great and made a fuss of all the hotel guests. The free mini bar in the room is not as it sounds! Contained one beer and fruit juice and then when we ran out of bottled water, we were charged 2 euros per bottle. Not a massive deal though, but 'free mini bar' does sound like false advertising.

Central location. Easy walk to the museums/palace. Given that it is mid city on a busy street the rooms were very quiet with excellent double glazing/shutter combination - and this was in a street- facing room. Some construction work going on at hotel but very well contained. Staff very helpful. Free minibar an unexpected bonus and replenished every day! Perhaps on your site the street address of the hotel could be added to as Preciados is a pedestrian only street and part of a large pedestrian only zone. The taxi we got from Atocha station obviously didn't know that hotel is on a corner, and can be easily accessed directly by road ( I think Calle de Veneras but would need to check with hotel). We were dropped at opposite end of pedestrianized area and took a wee while to locate hotel. (Due to taxi driver ignorance and our not downloading actual directions and map but just arriving with address as on printout.) Not a complaint, just a suggestion

The hotel is perfect for visiting Madrid and has a very central location close to Sol and the Plaza Major. The reception staff and porters were really friendly and helpful but let down by the poor service in the restaurant. The only downside was the poor service in the Resaurant and in particular the surley manner of the waiters in the pavement cafe outside the Hotel; this was a real shame as it overshadowed the performance of the reception staff and porter who were really excellent; if it were not for this I would probably rate this hotel very highly indeed.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was a little gem in the heart of old Madrid. The location was absolutely perfect for both sightseeing and great shopping. The hotel itself I would classify as a boutique hotel. Right from the moment we arrived, the very attentive staff made us feel not only welcome, but comfortable. The room was beautifully appointed with a marble bathroom, flat screen T.V. and state-of-the- art lighting and electronics (electric shades black out both the windows and the terrace doors). Although we were located so centrally, the soundproofed room and extremely comfortable bed afforded us wonderful sleeps. All this and an amazing breakfast as well, with fresh- squeezed orange juice, an array of fresh cut fruits, fabulous coffee and a huge assortment of hot foods and pastries, yogurts, cereals, pretty much everything you could ask for. Fantastic hotel and amazing value for the money!!!

Excellent hotel in good location, close to all sights in Madrid. Very helpful staff. We ate dinner twice in the restaurant and found the food good, staff professional and good value. The rooms have effective soundproofed windows so street noise not a problem. The beds are very comfortable. The free wifi and minibar is a great idea. Would definitely stay at this hotel if we ever return to Madrid.

Great, true 4* hotel in the heart of everything. Staff was very helpful. Room was great. Bed was a nice queen sized bed & slept great, had a nice fridge with some space for our drinks, and nice desk. Wireless worked Great here (1st time in 4 cities). Even had some english tv channels available. Breakfast was well worth it. Dinner was ok menu, but lots of alternate choices also available nearby. Would Gladly recommend this to anyone & will surely stay there again if we are in town. No real complaints - 1 comment: not sure why this is listed as "Preciados vip", when the sign on the hotel & the local maps & references are just to the "Preciados". The difference confused our taxi driver from the train station to the hotel (or provided a convenient excuse for them to drive around)

Hotel overall ok, but I was surprised to see this at the top of the list on Booking.com. Not the top by a long shot. Still, on the positive side, some of the staff members were very helpful and I was able to walk around was close to many things. I still can't believe that it made the top of Booking.com. To start off, the taxi couldn't get to the hotel. He dropped me off on the other side of the street and told me to walk to it. Apparently it's a pain to get there and Sunday is closed off or something. Also, why don't hotels get this? : Please ask the guest if they need help with their luggage and don't lunge at the bags under the guise that your "helping" when we travelers all know that it's just to get a tip...despite a friendly "Ola!". Really made me mad. Also, the breakfast was not great, the eggs were runny and cold and it was a bit surreal. The floors are parquet, not carpet, (that's just a personal thing) and the light from the street is very bright, but they did have electric blinds that helped.

The Preciados, is very well located with just a 15 minute walk to the Prado and the Palace. It is situated on the pedestrian malls with lively night life and many restaurants and cafes. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Miguel in the bar. The restaurant was good and the internet actually worked the whole time we were there - which seems to be a rare event throughout Europe. The room was very comfortable with a great bathroom, bath and shower. We would definitely stay there again if we travel to Madrid. The view onto the street from our side of the hotel was poor, the front rooms have a much better street view.
