Hostal Abadia MadridLuis Velez de Guevara, 2, Madrid Center, 28012 Madrid (Show map)
Very good,
Score from 804 reviews
“ Very helpful, efficient staff. Had Real Madrid tickets sent here and the staff looked after them until my arrival. Hostal is within 3 minutes walk of Puerta del Sol and 6 minutes of Plaza Mayor. However, it is located in a quiet street so no problems with noise. In addition, Hostal is very clean and excellent value for money. ”

The hostal was in the heart of old Madrid in walking distance of all the art galleries, museums, shopping and eating out areas, flamenco bars etc. in an area of amazing character. It was very clean and comfortable and surprisingly modern for the price. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Good central location. Breakfast was good. TV and wi fi good No soundproofing, very noisy at night. Lift broke down which meant up and down 4 flights with bags. No plug in the bath, so couldn't take a bath.

It was perfectly located, close to lots of the main tourism sights, bars and restaurants. It was spacious, clean room with a safe in the room and free wi-fi. My room was facing onto a main road and was quite noisy.

Excellent location. Walking distance to major museums (15 - 25 minutes). 10 minutes from Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Plenty of restaurants and cervecerias near by. 4 minutes from the best jazz club in Madrid (Central). From the airport a 45 minutes metro trip (5 euros). Nice breakfast served in next door café. Very nice and helpfull staff. My room was fully renovated, beautifull bathroom. Plenty of heating. No street noice. Excellent ratio price/quality!

Great location. The reception girl during the day was extremely friendly and helpful! People in the following room made a lot of noise at 4am everyday as they returned to the hotel. It wasn't until the 3rd day that we complained. However it would be nice if the receptionist at night was aware of the noise and asked them to keep it down.

We actually stayed around the corner at Hostal Martin, Calle de Atocha, although we were booked in at Hostal Abadia. This was not an issue for us as it was the same price and a triple room as we had booked. The staff were excellent - very friendly, very helpful and excellent English was spoken. The female receptionist (I am not sure of her name) organised our visit to a flamenco show who was most appreciated. Definitely recommend the hotel to others. The room was too hot when the heating was on. As Brits we are used to the cold!

Clean and perfectly located (close to literally everything!!). Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was a bit small but it had everything we needed in a room - a bed, a tv and a private bathroom. The floorboards made a creaking sound and everything could be heard in the room through the walls, so light sleepers may have trouble getting some sleep. The bed was a bit small.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic. Unfortunately we had a very noisy person a few doors along the corridor, and the noise echoed as te hotel is a square shape. The carpets in te corridors need renewing, an ther are no hooks or shelves anywhere to hang something in the bathroom.

Very clean, new bathroom. Location in the centre of the city, at walking distance to all important sites. Staff very friendly and professional, helps you in all what you need. In the same building youth hostel, and many noisy guests. ( no hostel staff's fault, but...)
