Hostal Abami II  

All in all very recommended. For a low budget trip the price is ok, but Madrid seems to have not much cheaper, also considering the central location and the good/clean service. Metrostation close, lots of tapasbars, good breakfeast locations (Pza. de Juan Pujol‎ or Cafe Le Pain Quotidien in Calle Gran Via), shopping-streets (Calle de Fuencarral, Calle de Hortaleza), 24-Hours-Shop close by. Our room was quiet to the sidestreet. Small space but enough for a city-trip. Good doublebed, good shower. Room cleanup every day. Towels present. Good air condition and free WiFi. Serivce friendly and helpfull. Generell consider: Mostly the Spanish dont speak english and talk spanish in theirs speed, wont slow down. So use hands and learn some spanish words. And a spanish balcony is more a french door with not much space to stay or sit on it, specially when an air condition machine is installed on it.

Walls a bit thin, with neighbours tv and other activities its mostly ok. Own thin door between sleepingroom and toilett gives you sometime not the private space you could needed ;o)

The hostel was very clean and very convienient qua location. For the price it was a real find. I would recommend it at any time.

The personell was friendly, but as a person who speaks little Spanish the communication was a bit difficult for me. What I really saw as a problem is the fact that there is no elevator. So, with lots of luggage it is hard to get up two flights of stairs by yourself. But you can ask for help and they do help you.

It was clean and modern

The construction workers were in the hallway with paint and ladders and it is on the second floor with no lift. No facilities - had to go out to buy water. Expensive compared to similar hostals.

Unfortunately doors are too thin - you can hear people walking in the coridor. It always seemed to me that somebody will walk into my room ;)

The room was very modern and clean, the space was efficiently designed, the room had nice lighting and was very comfortable. I liked the location and the staff were very helpful.

The lack of elevator made luggage transport a little annoying. The walls were a bit thin - I could hear neighbors' conversations, showers, suitcase zippers. It also would have been helpful to have a microwave and fridge area for guests to use. But despite these comments, I would still book this hotel again for my next trip to Madrid.

Very good location close to public transport and within walking distance of all main attractions in central Madrid. Hostal very clean.

Maybe one or two english speaking news channels would have been useful.

The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Bed was comfortable and the location was not very noisy at all.

Wifi was promised and does not work. I was told that maybe it was my device that wasn't working, which was not the case whatsoever. A/C worked only intermittently.

The hostel is new and modern. The clean room slick and nicely decorated. Centrally located - close to main attractions in Madrid, well connected to city and airport. Staff helpful and pleasant.

The lobby smelled of humidity.. Not the rooms though. And our room being close to the main entrance was a bit noisy.
