Love this place. Always stay here. The staff are fantastic and always give us our favourite room. It's clean, central, quiet and reasonably priced. It provides a kettle and mugs which is unusual in Spain. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.
The wifi wasn't good downstairs or on the terrace. However, was perfect when sitting in the reception area.
Kettle/fridge in room. Comfortable beds. Easy access to garden if in basement room.
Slightly annoying unidentified noise in basement room.
Fridge in bedroom noisy
I upgraded to a one bedroom apartment. It was clean bright and modern with everything I needed in place. Loved it and will definitely go there again.
nothing to fault on, cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness all good.
Great to come back to hotel from day out. Room nice and tidy. Fresh towels etc. Beds were so comfy and I slept so well over the four nights. Close to town 5 min walk. Modern hotel.
Hostal was fully booked so we were put in their apartments at no extra charge. Will definitely book again.
Great location. Excellent and friendly service. Wifi perfect. Bed was best I've had having stayed in many top rated hotels across the UK. Great value for money. Great value cafés for breakfast at a stones throw away e.g. Coffee and tortilla or baguette €1.70. I'd highly recommend
Nothing to report
We stayed in a self catering apartment, 3 fellas doing a bit of walking in the mountains and a few social beers. The accommodation was much more than I was expecting, very spacious, clean and a high quality of fixtures and fittings. Only a two minute walk to the main restaurant area but quiet of an evening. Two balconies, one looking out to mountains, the other over rooftops to the sea. Loved it.
Nothing to say really only that Nerja, like many other small Spanish towns has no (or very little) parking adjacent to the properties so we parked on a free area behind the main supermarket. About a 5 minute walk back to the hostal. Everything in Nerja is easily walked in a few minutes so unless you have family/friends who cannot walk far it will not be a problem.
Very central, staff very nice ..
I paid €28 more for my week than my friends who were in the room beside us ..
Very clean and cozy, staff very friendly, its my second visit and we love it and the street that it is situated is lovely to walk before you reach the balcon!
THE NON SLIP SHOWER FLOOR WAS THE BEST IN A EIGHT DAY TRAVEL IN 4 STAR AND 3 STAR HOTELS. VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY FACTOR. GIVEN CHOICE OF TWO BEDROOMS,CHOSE THE GROUND FLOOR WITH TRIPAL GLAZING WORKED OK
PRICE IN MUNICIPAL CAR PARK EXCESSIVE, THERE SHOULD BE A DISCOUNT FOR HOSTEL USERS AS THERE ARE FOR HOTEL USERS IN MOST AREAS AS WE FOUND ACROSS SPAIN
The electrical kettel and the cups, the bed, the shutters, the staff, the area, the garden
Now and then noise from the corridors, no chair in the room, no fridge
free wifi, safety deposit , and fridge , also coffee and tea making facilities in room. Spotlessly clean and modern rom in quiet area.
lights in room were not bright enough, we couldn,t read in the evening and the bed springs were very noisy when you turned over.
Location was excellent very clean and air con worked well
Very noisy till around 1am and again starting around 5.30am. Not the fault of hotel. But they should make people aware of maybe taking a room at the back.
Good clean room, close enough to the beach and also the bus station, central Nerja. Slightly cleaner and quieter than other similarly priced hotels in the same area.
I don't know if they just ran out of soap bars, or if it's normal for them to only stock the bathroom with shampoo and body wash, but trying to tear a tiny ketchup-sized packet of shampoo every time you want to wash your hands is a real pain. Then it oozes out and you can't really use it again. I asked for soap but they didn't have any. Everything else was nice, but the lack of soap was very annoying. Also, the wifi doesn't work on the terraces, only in the room (but that's true everywhere I've stayed in Nerja).
The Balcony of Europe was a 10 minute walk and there was a lot of cafés, fruit stores and other tourist type of goods stores along the way. I'd say it's the sort of place where honeymooners would want to stay. Our bedroom had a small balcony overlooking other bigger balconies below.
It didn't have an elevator so we had to climb four flights of stairs. It was not a big deal except for the luggages we had to lug up. I considered it a good exercise but I have aún issue with my right shoulder. Just be careful!
I booked accommodation myself to meet up with friends who were there as part of a package deal. I had far superior room overlooking back garden. I also had a small fridge with tea and coffee making facilities. They didn't have these things. I didn't like the idea that they were given an inferior room as it is was booked as part of a package makes me wonder about recommending them.
Staff pleasant. Room lovely and contemporary with ensuite. Free parking nearby. Lovely small hotel without food or communal space other than pleasant outside area. Plenty nearby cafes, food shops, access to beaches. Music nearby in evenings. Near buses to visit other places eg caves
Good if all staff spoke a bit more english or me more spanish.
Amazing value for money, great location, lovely apartment all to myself. I requested a quiet room as I wanted to sleep and I was given a very quiet apartment which was perfect. Cannot fault it and will definitely stay again
I thought the Hostal was very clean and comfortable and was located centrally for easy access to all areas.
The only point i would make, was that most nights the hot water was tepid making it difficult to shave or shower properly but other than that, no complaints.
Hostal Abril was extremely cheap and a very nice place that I would go back to a million times! The rooms were very clean, the AC efficient, the bed extremely comfortable, the bathroom was pretty. Everything was perfect the only thing I could possibly say is that the wifi was spotty (only worked in one spot in the room) but who really needs wifi on vacation anyways?!?
Everything else in Nerja, besides the hotel management we met here.
We literally had to bring up the double-bed to our room after they gave us a twin-bedroom. After fooling us into believing it would be handled the next day and being deceived, this was the only solution they would offer.
Excellent for families. We had an apartment with a lovely terrace where we could sit out and relax while our daughter slept.
No option for breakfast but there was a nice cafe a few doors away.
Like nearly everything :)
Dislike the poor Wi-Fi
