An excellent cheap option for a stay in the center of Madrid. This guesthouse is very close to Plaza España and serves meals. Surf the wireless internet for free. The simple bedrooms of the Arti II are adequately furnished and you can choose either private or shared bathrooms. Originally a student residence, the Arti II has now been converted into budget accommodations. The Arti II also serves a good value breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also grab a snack or refreshment from the vending machines. Make the short stroll over to Madrid's Royal Palace to see the impressive grounds. In the evening, choose from an excellent choice of cinemas, theaters, bars and restaurants along Gran Vía. This vibrant avenue is located just a short distance from the Arti II. I think it is the cheapest place to stay in Madrid. The room, though small, was clean and came with all the facilities as described on the Booking.com website. The bottom line (for me, anyway) is that it is very noisy at night. I could not get any sleep during the four nights I stayed there as the university students (that seem to also live there) were indeed very loud (E.G., guitar playing, flamenco show, etc.). Considering that I came to the International Conference, I did not enjoy this aspect of my stay much as I could not get enough rest. But, of course, for those who come to Madrid to hang out with friends and have fun at night, this place will be a perfect fit. Perhaps the staff of the hostel should look into resolving this problem in the future.

Amazing place, near the Plaza de Espana subway station. There is no obvious sign to find the hostel, even it is right there.

We like a location of the hostel. All what u need is around. There were always a problem with toilet. The tourists dont know how to use it and the toilet was often blocked. But there were anoter bathrooms on the floor. So we didnt lose a time for waitin a free bathroom

For €15 a night for a single room and shared bathroom it's about as cheap as you can get in Madrid. Lots of noisy students. Average bathroom facilities.

Location, quiet amidst busy Gran Via, restaurants, supermercados, tourists sights and Metro on your doorsteps. Common room very spartan is an old TV and microwave, 2 sofas.

I liked: - the friendly staff - the comfort of the room (I had a private sink, plenty of room to store my belongings, the bed was comfortable) - the location is conveniently located next to a major street in Madrid, but the area is relatively peaceful so my sleeping was not disturbed I would have appreciated more explanation about how the breakfast situation worked.

It's in a very good place, next to Plaza de Espana, there is a metro stop there too. There are a lot of restaurants, coffee place in the neighborhood and the famous Templo de Debod. There was always hot water. Ideal if you don't want to spend too much time in your room. There was only two showers and two toilets on the floor and they didn't clean it (or not regularly). Because the main street is next to the hostel, it's very loud.

Staff was good, honest and nice people. Hostel is really close to Gran Via. Its open 24 hours. Rooms are not bad. Only one thing bothered me, we shared radiator with another room! there was a hole in the wall and even you can hear sound of coughing... Its not good. It depends which room you are going to stayin i think. There was a room at first floor, you can watch TV there and take coffee from machine and there was a microwave, also other floors have machines. Just for a few days in Madrid it's definitely worth staying here.

Ideal location. The receptionist in the evening who had recently joined the job, spoke English. Other did not speak in English but were nice and helping. We stayed in a twin room on the 7th floor with shared bathroom. The room and bathroom were clean, however, the beds were old as was the hostel. On Saturday night, it was a bit noisy in the hostel (due to other guests) but next night we did not hear any noise. The bed sheets were not changed on our arrival (in the evening) and we complained this and they changed.

The gentleman at the gate was very helpful when I arrived, the location is great, a few parks around, it was good I missed a fridge what we as customers can use, and my neighbors were very loud almost all the nights. It was difficult to sleep there.

Cheap and chearful hostel with a good location. For 22€ I got a private room with 2 single beds and a private bathroom. Heating is switched off in the night and breakfast finishes at 10am - which I wasn't told about at check-in.

We lived in a single room, very cheap for central Madrid and single use. Hostel is clean, has a sink, a large wardrobe, bedside table and desk. Coffee machines sold at 2-3 times cheaper than in the city (50 euro cents). It accepts credit cards! Staff does not speak English, there is no kitchen and no hot water to make your own tea, coffee, soup. You can only order a continental breakfast for 1-2 euros
