Virtually everything, great city break hotel, clean rooms in good condition, great staff, perfect location on the edge of the old town, close to buses trams and trains, countless bars, 10 min walk to Guggenheim museum. Also recommend boat trip to coast and funicular railway which both offer great views of the city

Given the nature of the hotel the only downsides were having to go to reception and heat water in a microwave for a morning tea and lack of an English language channel option for the TV

Desk manager very friendly & helpful. Room fine, nice shower. Very central location, not expensive for what you get.

Not really important but I was told they didn't serve any breakfast despite sign saying they did. Not much parking & difficult to access the location. Hotel is on second floor of a building, which was a bit odd.

Ideal location; easy access to both new and old districts, close to the train station. One of the staff (middle aged man), who took care of us upon our check-in, was very friendly, polite and full of hospitality.

The hotel staff, except the one described above, were not so friendly or helpful and didn't speak English. The bath room, particularly the shower booth, may be too small for a big (tall and/or fat) person.

Elevator only to1st floor, had to carry case up one flight of stairs. No heater in bathroom-wall heaters not turned on.

We had a Junior Suite, basically a large room with an arm chair, tv, dvd, fridge, coffee table and small wall mounted folding table, hallway with wardrobes, and en-suite bathroom. Room was comfortable. Breakfast available at bar next door, for 2.50 euros. Location very good. Near to metro and tram stops. Walking distance to Guggenheim and Old City, and Gran Via. Tea and coffee available for 1 euro at reception. Staff spoke good english and were helpful and friendly.

There's nothing I could complain of: very friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, comfortable room. My room was in the back, facing a courtyard; no view but it was quiet as it seems that the major problem downtown is the noise of the 'movida'. Neverthless hostal Begona is very central and handy.

The hostal is centrally located and is close to shopping and restaurants.

The room was not really clean and was infested by mosquitos. Similarly the bathroom was contained some insect life! My wife was eaten alive by mosquitos on the second night.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location close to train station, old city and Guggenheim Museum. Free internet and wi-fi.

The room was quite large, the bathroom was huge. The staff was very friendly. It was a three minute walk to the old city.

This was a very plain hotel without a spot of charm, but it was clean and convenient.

The staff at the Begoña is particularly to be commended for going well out of their way in making our stay easy and enjoyable. Furthermore, the place is clean, well located and nicely furnished. The relationship between price and quality is superb. English is spoken, if needed.

Perfect location, in an old building, next to the town hall, central metro station and casco viejo. Half of the rooms have little balconirs. Staff was very friendly. They have a very nice library, but it's almost exclusively in Spanish. No breakfast was included, but right underneath were at least 3 bars offering all sorts of sandwiches and snacks and excellent coffee for very low prices.

The rooms-especially the ones with street view-are quite small and the shower is tiny.

Man at reception spoke English, just not sure if he understood it that well. Price could be a little cheaper, especially for a single room.
