Location 12 minute walk to Atocha train station. Receptionist was very pl.easant
Loved my single suite with private bath. Comfortable bed, plenty of linens, wifi, toiletries. Convenient location to the train station (within a 7 minute walk). Located next to Police station - felt very safe as a solo female traveler. Lovely staff, very courteous and helpful to every need. Would definitely book with Bruna again in the future even with my family traveling with me. Thank you for a wonderful night's sleep!
Walls were thin so until things quieted down, you heard multiple conversations. Not a problem for me but for some this could be an issue. I wish the bathtub would have had a plug so I could have soaked a bit - but still not a major issue. Glad I had plenty of hot water :)
Reaaaallly clean the smell of cleaning powder and soap was everywhere The staff didn't speak English but they were really kind and helpful The location was excellent city center but a quiet and cute street Very secure Had an elevator
Walls were so thin so I could hear everything that was happening in other rooms :D
Bed very comfortable. Plenty of storage for clothes etc. Wifi signal good. Staff vey pleasant. Secure entrance from stairs to room. Excent location close to museums, bars and cafes etc. Everything in walking distance if fairly fit.
We were on 1st floor, noise travelled from above eg water pipes, doors banging.
Lack of sound isolation from corridor to room
Lovely staff, fantastic location. They changed the bed everyday and cleaned up. Very clean and safe.
Excellent location (next to Prado museum and close to Atocha station, Reina Sofia, Thyssen-Bornemisza museum and Plaza de Cibeles), excellent staff, excellent room and excellent price. What more can someone ask for a hotel?
Location. Any closer to the Prado, and we would have been exhibits! Super friendly staff. Everything!
location is great and so is the lady who runs the place. the room is big enough and the bathroom even had a hair-dryer. everything is very clean
terrible, terrible, terrible sleep quality. you can hear everything that is happening at the corridor and at your neighbors. i happened to stay on the night when people were returning at 2 am in the morning - opening the door, banging the toilet seats, and SKYPING with their families without headphones...mind you it was just a normal monday night- no weekend..
Perfect location for visiting the 3 art museums
We liked everything...the location was amazing and very easy to find and get to. Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. I would recommend it without hesitation.
It would be perfect if we had a balcony or a window overlooking the street but that is if I am nitpicking.
Spotlessly clean, helpful staff, reasonably-sized room & bathroom, excellent location. A very good value for the price paid. We were very pleased with our choice of accommodations in Madrid.
A rather uninspiring view from the room's only window.....looking out over the building's community air shaft!
Location great. Friendly staff. Very clean.
no tea or coffee making facilities or fridge.
The location of the Hostel is prime. Right off the Paseo del Prado and literally a three minute walk from the museum you couldn't really ask for more. It's very quiet at night because it's not on a busy street with bars. Also close-by are the Reina Sofia Museum, Atocha Station and The Retiro Park. Plaza Mayor, is in easy reach walking. Around 10 minutes following the one road and from there it is easy to get to the Puerta del Sol and the Palace. I was staying in a single room and I had an ensuite. While the interior design isn't to the standard of a hotel, everything is clean and the staff (it's family-run) are so helpful and approachable. They even looked after my luggage after I checked out so I could spend the day doing things before I had to go to the airport! All in all, I'm glad I chose to stay in Hostal Bruña. It really made my stay in Madrid. I would recommend it for all types of people. Don't expect a beautiful, fancy hotel but you will be treated great and the location just makes it.
The interior decoration leaves a lot to be desired but it really didn't bother me.
The fact that they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We were travelling with a baby and things could not have gone more smoothly. I give the hostal the highest rating because they most definitely deserve it. As for the location: close to everything you would like to see in Madrid.
Nothing to complain about.
Location was superb. Couldn't ask for a better place to explore wonderful Madrid, which we loved. Family owners were very helpful with plans. We stayed 3 nights. The first 2 nights were very quiet but the third night we had noisy neighbours ...too bad. The rooms are nicely sheltered from outside notice, never.
Did not like the surcharge of €3.00 per day to have air conditioning. This was a first for us.
Location perfect People were lovely Very clean
Este and her family are wonderful owners of this comfortable and very affordable hostal perfectly located in the centre of old town. The Prado Museum and the train station are minutes away, and Rastro Market for Sunday treasure hunting is also within walking distance. Great service, clean and secure, good WiFi, an unbeatable location and value for money.
This place is no frills, but it is a nice place to stay right in the heart of the museum district. In fact, it's as centrally located to the three big museums as you can get. The street can get noisy, but not excessively so--I was able to put in earplugs and tune out the world. The room was clean and modern. The water in the shower was hot. It had all the basics well covered.
We couldn't pay with a credit card, so we had to go find Euros (this was the very end of our trip and we hadn't planned on paying in cash). The area is heavily tourist, so it's expensive to get Euros there. Otherwise, we had no problems.
Very easy to find. Nice facility and the room was very quiet despite being close to a busy plaza. Felt safe. Very helpful staff.
in the lovely neighborhood!! staffs are so kind even though the old lady(I assumed that she was mother of the owner) can't speak english well but I still felt her kindness.
This was the perfect hotel for a few nights in Madrid. It's family-run, friendly, well looked after and very comfortable - the bed was amazing. The wifi works well and the location is incredibly central. I highly recommend it.
It didn't matter to me but the bathroom is very small which might be an issue for some people.
This is a great little hostel in a great location. Clean and quiet, close to El Retiro, the art museums, good restaurants, and the Metro, it's run by a lovely family who are friendly and helpful. Would like to stay there again.
Darling people running it. Wonderfully close to Metro and to art museums. In fact easy to walk anywhere from here.
Location and the owner is nice
No fridge and no kettle
