Marion, the host was very nice. She needs some help. Ac did work. Balcony was nice. All Spaniards try to help. Nice to have a doorman.
WiFi didn't work, shower got water everywhere, no TV, elevator too small
The wall were realy thin so you could listening everything. They didn't clean our room. The cleaning staff was chinese and could barely speak Spanish or English
Size of the room, very poor breakfast
Good location, metro stations (Tetuan, Girona), shops and even some major features of Barcelona (Sagrada F, Pl. Catalunya) in walking distance, clean rooms, friendly staff. We did not have breakfast there but since there are many restaurants and cafe on the street you can have a decent breakfast at one of the nearby corners for the same price or even less. Try to have a room with a street view and you will have no problems with this place.
We had a room looking to the inner yard of the building, therefore the room quite dark, and noisy (the tight inner yard echoed all noises). On the other hand this doesn't bothered us too much because the room was used mostly for sleeping and we were tired enough for having a good sleep in every conditions. Rooms looking to the street are completly different, lots of natural light and air plus you have a balcony too. If you have the choice, try to choose a room with street view. Prices are a bit high - you may got a normal hotel room for the same price elsewhere - but this is Barca, staying in the city centre is never cheap.
staff and rooms was nice, if you visiting barcelona for few days and room is needed just for sleep
nooo parking anywhere around. cheapest one is 15EUR and 15min walk
Very friendly staff, helpful and nice. Good location, 3 minutes walking to the metro station. Comfortable beds and silence in the night.
The room and especially the bathroom were very small. We hadn't any space at all, even if we spent there only the nights, the feeling was long from perfect.
Staff was helpful
Rate is so ecpensive compating to the hotel standard. room was very poor no fridge no tv bathroom is too narow price i was paid is 87 euro per night but in my opinion the reasonal price for tgis hostel is max 40.00 euro per night
The staff contacted us prior to arrival to inform us of the best way to transfer from airport. Able go to your room as soon as we arrived after a long journey. Could just order breakfast as and when we needed it.
The noise from the street and other noisy guests --maybe a lads weekend!!
Very helpful staff. Location was great. Comfy beds. We also appreciated the late check out!
We had a private balcony. Nice. Clean bedroom and bathroom. The ceiling decor was fancy.
Difficult reception. Did not stick to hours listed. I felt like I was intruding. Not helpful. No map, wifi password or parking info. This caused trouble later. Our "private" bathroom was down the hall and required a key.
Fairly central location, comfortable bed, air con, plumbing worked.
Walls a bit thin, stairs difficult with too much baggage .
The staff were extremely helpful, we only had a short time in Barcelona and they advised us of the places which were missable as well as those which were unmissable. The hotel is very well situated for visiting most of Barcelona's attractions, and only 4 blocks or so away from the Arc de Triomph station ( if coming by train, you do not need to go all the way to Barcelona Sants as you only have to take the bus out again!) We were told the best places to eat, and the owner really took his time to explain everything, which we really appreciated as this was our first sightseeing visit. The room was nicely decorated, incredibly clean and comfortable with a small but pleasant balcony. We would certainly go there again.
We had not looked forward to shared bathroom facilities, but this in fact was no problem ( there were not many people on the same floor as us) and the bathroom (or rather shower-room) was like everything else scrupulously clean. The only thing we missed were tea and coffee making facilities in the room but coffee was available very reasonably (80c) in the dining room downstairs- so all in all, no problems.
the location was not too bad
1. we have booked this hostel because it served breakfast, so therefore we have decided to pay ~ 64 euros rather than in other hotel without breakfast close to the hostel central barcelona which would have been around 40 euro per night. The shock was that the breakfast had only one croissant and half of baguette each. There was nothing else. 2. the hostel building has cockroaches and we have found a spider in the room and some hair in the bed. 3. The walls are very thin as well: all the noise from the neighbours was easily heard. In total, would not book it again for this price. It is really possible to book something cheaper even the last minute.
The staff were extremely friendly. They gave us a map and explained how to get about city. The hostal was extremely clean. The room was basic, very clean and more than accommodated our needs. We also had a shared bathroom, it was in excellent condition and again very clean. Cleaners were there everyday. The best hostal I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in more than a few dumps. Do not be put off by its star rate it's lovely place to stay.
My only complaint would be the neighbours up stairs were rather loud and you could hear every person that walked in and out the hostal, but then again our room was right next to the main door. This probably wouldn't be a problem in other rooms and did not take any enjoyment out of the holiday.
The location was excellent. Walking distance to downtown. We enjoyed the walks to and from the center of town. Most things were good about the hostel, considering the price
Clean place, helpful staff
Hostal room details on Booking.com mentioned double room of size more than 20 m2, but our room was much smaller, probably around 12-15 m2. Were a bit dissapointed because the room size was one of the prime factor while selecting this hostal.
The facilities meet the basic requirement as a hostel. As a plus, the staff is very nice, friendly and passionate.
I didn't receive the promised twin room on my arrival. Even though I did indicate when I booked the room on booking.com and send a direct mail to mention for another time, I had a double room instead. What I dislike is the excuse by the staff trying to escape from the ignorance of the fact. And the killing offer for and extra room later seems sort of marketing strategy to me since it is down season.
The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The location is good, the metro (Tetean) is only a 3 minute walk away and connects you within 2 minutes with Passeig de Gracia, from where you can get almost everywhere (train to the airport). Never felt unsafe here. The rooms are small but sufficient, great price! Breakfast consists of coffee, tea, two pieces of toast and marmelade (except on Sundays, when you get a croissant as well).
I thought it was quite quiet but there is some noise from the street (which can be expected in a big crowded city).
I liked their staff. Carlos, the recepcionist, is a lovely person. The beds are confortable. The localization is good, close to a metro station.
First of all, they must review their concept of full breakfast. How can they call full breakfast a piece of bread, butter, marmelade, one kind of artificial juice and hot drinks? Then you go out to your ride starving. Another thing that surprised me: they don't have TV on the rooms (at least in mine). OK, they don't advertise TV on the rooms, but it's something you don't pay attention when you book. Every place has TVs! In their advertisement, they tell they have a private bathroom. It's correct. But when will you imagine the bathroom is outside your room? The inconvenience to go out and cross with neighbors when you are going to take a shower or use the toilete is huge! If I knew that I could take a room with a shared bathroom. For me it's the same. The price they charged me is compatible to a 3 or 4 stars hotel I have already stayed in other occasions in other cities.
Great hostel, rooms are very clean and our was with great balcony. There were towels and hair driers. Good location and excelent staff.
Location Friendly staff Price
Noise from street at night
Very clean, nice, original room, 5 minutes walk from Tetuan Station, 25 - from Placa Catalynya. Accidentally we check in after the working time and receptionist wait for us to come.
We booked the room with own facilities and there were special vacuum sanitaring maching which produced big noise every time you open water. the walls are also not so thick.
-Good value for money -Nice and helpful staff -Room was cleaned every day -No curfew, you get the keys and can come and go whenever you want -Private bathroom was clean and fairly big -Free towels and lining -Location in a quiet area, one metro stop from Passeig de Gracia -Free Wi-Fi
-Basic breakfast, just bread and jam -No common kitchen where you can prepare your own stuff to eat, just a small dining area -Can hear ppl talking in the next room, but not that big of a deal
It was only three minutes from the metro station and only 15 minutes from the old town for these persons who love walking and 10 minutes from Sagrada Famiglia. It was very clean, they clean the room every day and they change towels every time that you ask for it. Perfect wi-fi in the room and the staff is the most polite and helpful we 've ever met. They gave us a map of the town with the most popular monuments and they adviced us for everything that we asked. There is a lift. Very safe streets around the hostel days/nights.
Very poor breakfast-only juice, coffee and 2 slices of bread with butter and jam.It would be easy if they had cake, milk with cornflakes or toast.
I loved my spacious room with a very comfortable bed. The building looks great from outside. Breakfast was really good as well - tasty fresh bread and jams plus coffee as much as you want:) Very friendly and helpful staff.
