Hostal Maestre is centrally located next to Córdoba’s Fine Art Museum and a 5-minute walk from the Mezquita. It has free Wi-Fi, and most rooms are set around typical Andalusian garden patios.
Score from 1834 reviews Very good
Facing Cordoba’s famous Grand Mosque and in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, this elegant hotel has a traditional Andalusian patio and free Wi-Fi.

Very central and very helpful staff. Breakfast very good value
The room was Rather cold although sleeping was warm.
Frankly, it is beyond me why this hotel has such a high rating. I had booked a single room with, as the description said, a patio. Instead I got a room that felt more like a box, with a shower I couldn't even turn around in and a view of 3 walls and my neighbours' windows. When I went back to the reception, the lady at the desk (a lady in her 40's with short, dark hair and a very pretty face) was clearly not the least bit interested in my opinion. When I kindly told her I wished for a room with some outside space, which I had paid for, she picked a fight. I was baffled. She told me to go to a different hotel if I wasn't happy, and so I asked her for a refund (I had already paid online). But she wouldn't do that, as it was a no-refund-policy booking. When I kindly explained that I felt miserable in such an enclosed space, she said that wasn't her problem. When I insisted, she simply refused to speak English with me anymore, saying that if I wanted to visit Spain, I should learn Spanish. I have been travelling non-stop all over the world for three years now, and I can honestly say I have never been treated so badly by the staff of any hotel, ever, anywhere. Would therefore most certainly not recommend.
eclectic. i hope to return when it is warmer so i can hangout in the courtyard.
Location Helpfull staff Beautifull hotel in typically Andalouse style
Beautifully decorated, great atmosphere, comfortable & homely, close to the Jewish quarter and mesquite. Very clean. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. 5 minutes walk to a free car parking area.
Internet was not very good in our room but ok in the common areas. Overall no big deal.
I have had an experience unique and very pleasant in all respects in this ex-monastery.
Nothing at all.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful and gave me lots of tips to organise my stay in Cordova. The room was very nice, comfortable and clean. A 5 minute walk from the Mosque. Really excellent value for money!
location friendly and helpful staff clean and spacious room
We had difficulty finding the hotel, partly due to our GPS and partly due to the extremely narrow streets in the old quarter. One of us had to stay in the car while the other went to the hotel to get help in maneuvering the car. The proprietress, came quickly, got into our car and deftly steered through the maze of streets so we could unload our luggage, which she also helped us to carry upstairs. She directed us to free parking across the river, which was a ten minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, as it was served by the owners in the lovely courtyard. The fact that the hotel is only a couple of blocks from the Mezquita, and right in the heart of all old quarter, was the highlight. This hotel met all our requirements: location, parking, wifi and breakfast.
relaxed atmosphere. lovely breakfast. very central. would recommend a stay here.
The lady that checked us in was great, and the facility was very nice and comfortable. Parking was free, but not very convenient. Breakfast was very nice.
We had no control for the air conditioner, so it was a little warm, even in October. It was also a little hard to find by car. The location was in the old part of town, but somewhat on the fringe.
Everything. Location on narrow old cobble-stone street walking distance to everything. Exactly what we were looking for.
I loved everything about it. Free parking is across the river - park and walk across the bridge into the old city and to the hotel.
Location in old quarter means all major attractions are a within short walk. Pleasant breakfast in the patio.
Location makes it difficult to impossible to get with a vehicle to the entrance, so carrying luggage is a hassle. Directions sent by staff are confusing and guide to alleys with entrance forbidden to all cars. The properties of the hotel's listing here in Booking.com were inaccurate when we made our reservation, which caused us an inconvenience when we realized the actual situation. The details were apparently fixed later, but staff should be more careful in verifying their listing is accurate. Breakfast time is somewhat inconvenient.
everything staff fantastic very warm hearted helpful getting to sleep no problems as it is very quite, place kept very clean can't wait to next year and meet the wonderful staff and hostel
departing the hostel to go back to the uk
Central location, excellent staff, great value for the money, comfortable beds.
Old fashioned interior but with character.
The staff spoke english well and were very helpful. Directions to free parking excellent. Cordoba is a beautiful city.
I had late check in, reception was scheduled to be close at the time of my arrival so I called in advance to get infos... when I arrived, everything was so perfect that I felt like a friend of mine left me his home keys. Central position, nice room, beautiful common areas. Perfect value for money.
close to the Mosque helpful staff traditional old building
difficult to find via sat nav
We stayed one of the rooms facing to the street with tiny balcony. Perfect location, very stylish and tasty design, placed on a quiet lovely small street, very comfortable beds, helpful staff, interior reflects the typical andalucian style.
The Cordobese style is pretty, but nothing makes up for the unnecessary unpleasantness of the woman who runs it.
I agree with other travellers who commented on the woman's unfriendliness. Señora, if you do not like foreigners why run a hotel? A smile costs nothing. My daughter and I arrived within the agreed timeframe (12 -1pm), rang the bell and were met with brusque impatience. Such a surprise - awful. A month in Europe and this was our only such experience. Also, walls are so thin that you hear everything. I was kept awake by relentless snoring next door. Stay somewhere else - there are plenty of other options!
The location is perfect, as long as you're walking. Cars definitely not welcome.
Differently from what the hotel say, there is no parking lot. None. The closest parking space is far away from the hotel and you'll have to walk with your bags. The hotel has only one parking space, in a garage inside, for 10 euros/night.
Noisy and switch off the air con at night and very noisy out side The worest hotel ever
Atmospheric surroundings, nice patio, quiet room overlooking patio and a substantial breakfast.
Coffee was too weak for my liking and I'd have killed for some wholemeal bread.
