The good-value Hotel Mediterraneo is right in front of Estepona’s Rada Beach, on the Costa del Sol. Each simple, air-conditioned rooms has a balcony, most with sea or mountain views.
Score from 116 reviews Good
Nice view on the Plaza de la Floras. Beautiful house, good interiors, very friendly staff, 24-hour reception, good location. Everything is great, I'll definitely recommend El Pilar to my friends!
No kitchen but we knew about it.
Location in the square good.
A bit difficult to find due to the one dway system. Parking not at the hotel and staff a little reluctant to help out by coming with you and showing you where the parking is - it would have taken less time than explaining it. Room tiny.
The hostal is right in the centre of Estepona, on the main square, so it couldn`t be more central. Wifi was ok
There was a lot of noise from the inside during most of the day, from people coming in and out and people sitting in the common area, watching tv and so on. The place is also dated and old, although as such the price is ok.
good location near the see and the city center
expensive to park a car
Real value for money
The location was perfect. Lots of restaurants and bars immediately outside the hostel yet it was very quiet in the room. Plaza del Flores is very pretty. The air con / heating worked well also. The staff seemed to be all family, who never left the reception area. Hence we felt safe that our belongings were secure.
There was no coffee / tea making facilities. No breakfast available. The hostel is very dated and very traditional. The rooms were quite small.
Right in the centre of town, very reasonably priced and very clean.A very old fashioned spanish hotel that offers good cheap accomodation
Sadly it is seriously noisy
Set in Orange Square and only about 250 mtrs from the beach, the hotel is adequate for a short stay. Plenty of cafes and restaurants closeby and near the town centre.
Rooms very small, can be noisy at night as rooms look onto the square, where Spanish people tend to socialise quite late.
Family run Hostal with a lovely Spanish atmosphere. Great location in the old part of town with very good restaurants and bars. A beautiful setting. We were made to feel most welcome.
A little noisy at times. But you are in a Plaza/Square in the centre of a beautiful part of town so you have to expect a little noise. You can shut the world out with double glazed doors if you need.
The style of the Hotel old world charm
Considering how much the equivalent hotel would cost elsewhere, the pilar offers fantastic value for money. Has all the basics and is centrally located. Staff are nice and it is kept very clean.
Being amongst the locals and seeing how they lived their daily lives. The friendliness of the locals, most were able to understand English.
Beautiful location on a flowery very lively square near to restaurants and town centre.
Long distance to car parking. No hairdryer.
We stayed here on our trip last week and enjoyed it so much that we booked on our return towards the airport. It's central location on the Plaza de las Flores is a delight. What great value too.
It is in the prettiest square in Estepona with everything to hand.
Room overlooking the beautiful square, but good sound insulation with the shutters closed. Location was great, numerous shops and restaurants and close to the beach.
Wi-Fi was good in lobby, but not great in the room
Overlooking the main 'Spanish square' - the best location in Estepona Cleanliness - rooms cleaned every day Very welcoming hosts Proximity to everything - restaurants, bars, beach, town - all within 2 minutes walking distance Marina - within 15 minutes walking distance
Central location and availability of eateries, wine bars and bars within very close walking distance
Screaming children of an early evening in the square
Location, friendly staff, very clean
Friendly staff, ideal location and great for those on a budget
The location was perfect in the Plaza de las Flores.Staff friendly and helpful. Do remember to be respectful to the owners who are there most of the time and are very charming. The perfume from the flowers on the trees filled the room in the evenings. Excellent restaurants in the old part of town. The sea is two minutes walk away with long beaches both sides of the harbour to explore. This is a lovely resort with many Spanish tourists. Eating from 9.00 o'clock in the evenings, as the Spanish do, is something we learned to do on our second night!
There is nothing to dislike if you want a relaxing time. You have a huge length of coastline and the lovely old part of Estepona which retains a bit of the Spanish way of life. I would hire a car next time to explore the surrounding areas.
Very clean. Superb value for money
Great location, and very reasonable price, I was on a trip for a wedding so this was perfect. If the hotel is the most important aspect for your holiday, then stay somewhere else, but otherwise a very good location, helpful staff and a pleasant stay.
I could hear everything going on in reception in the mornings from my room, but it is an old building which has a lot of charm.
all was perfect
